Dunc, I know joke about sometimes in the chat. However, on a serious note, I just want to say that your channel is a university on the inner workings and thought processes of the football journalistic world. Pity I didn't find your channel sooner, but got here in the end.
Thanks man. I appreciate that.
I still hope it’s Amorim
I really hope so too.
But it doesn't look like it unfortunately
I wish it were different
Don't we all 😂
I think you've nailed it, Dunc. Plus, Barca (Deco) love him but still think he lacks experience which is why Xavi will stay on for another season. Maybe another season at Sporting with money to spend and CL football.
I’m honestly set on Slot now. I still think Amorim is a great choice, but no point having coach that’ll end up falling out with the owners and Edward’s. I’d rather have the harmony throughout the club, plus Slots playing style is better suited to the club.
Agreed. I loved the idea of Amorim until the circus
But isn’t it time to change our style though? The way we play now we’re very predictable and so easy to counter attack. We look like conceding every time the other team attack. Man City haven’t played 4-3-3 for 3 seasons.
I believe Ruben Amorim camp blew their chances and Liverpool aren't changing their minds. Unless the Amorim camp change their own minds by accepting Liverpool's offer on the table.
Amorim will be one of the best,if not the best coach in future years.
The only one that can regret this is liverpool
@@cmlguerra You talking like Arne Slot isn't going to be future top coach and wants job more than worry about his bank account like Amorim.
Amorim will be the next mourinho or guardiola but i don’t know about slot,to be honest i never heard about him.
About that bank account talk i think it’s all speculation cos no one really knows what’s been talk by both sides, let’s wait….
One thing i can assure you, money was never an issue in amorim career so far
Dunc's still clinging on to the hope of his Amorim bet coming in! 😉
Nah ha ha
Kinda get the impression that Amorim has to leave Sporting now. It’s already going to be a little awkward for him going back to his team after everybody knows he was on a plane for negotiations etc. I’m sure there are other interested parties, but the Liverpool job won’t come up often…
Your right Dunk don't rule anyone out till the club makes a statement but I'm just so used to FSG going for the cheap option.
Slot seems less popular with our fan base but is a far better choice than Amorim in my opinion, we would have to make some large scale changes to the squad and how we play with Amorim. This would lead to a big transitional period, lots of change in the playing staff, lots of expense etc. Slot will just 'slot' right in, plays similar football and would utilise our current squad much better and we should be ready to go again next season. For this reason I'm not even fully convinced Alonso would have been appointed by Liverpool if he was free. Its all just media spin with these journalists, most of which know nothing about what's going on.
So LFC think they have missed out on top 3 choices? doesn't seem like LFC are actually an attractive proposition for most managers, and maybe FSG should ask themselves why before they turn us into a mid table team
Anyone Else feel Edwards feels like the new manager and Hughes and Slot his puppets??
No not really to be honest
Slot has now confirmed he wants the job and is confident deal will be done soon
I liked the look of Amorim to be honest but if he is taking the p then forget him. I didn’t know anything about Klopp before he came and look what happened, so will see what Slot can do.
A thought that just hit. Going for Slot could be a win win situation. If he succeeds happy days. If he fails, next year go after Alonso when he's ready to move. And of course, he wouldn't be coming in straight after Klopp😮😮😮
Alonso is going to Real Madrid summer 2025 when Don Carlo retires.
I still think this is to try and entice Amorim. They were quick to take Alonso of the list, why have they not done the same thing with Amorim?
For the fee that Amorin would cost, I’d be wanting him to play up front and knock in 20 goals a season 😂
liverpool will purposely offer below what feyenord want 1st time round to se if amorim will budge and i agree with you big man if nothing changes in next 24/48 hrs liverpools next offer to feyenord will be the deal breaker
It sounds like to me amorim's agent has put his 20% bonus fee on top for himself and has now priced his client out of managing liverpool
More chance of Mourhino joining
I agree mate, I think they're panicking they missed out on all their top targets. I know everyone would say Amorim/ his agent were greedy, but Klopp started in 2015 on Round £7m p/a and that was only a 7th placed Liverpool...The demands to keep us at the top and literal 10 years passing I don't think those demands are too bad.
Klopp was established though and Rodgers was sacked so they didn't have alot of time to replace him.
@@kloppsippingvarsenaltears2789 True man but he was on a free...I don't see any other top quality managers though.
@@vexedgaming4979 there's not a lot of top level managers even employed at the moment. We've got to find one with potential and hope he works out.
10 mil after tax is what was reported he wanted so 20 mil p/a which is ridiculous
Think your man is out of it now mate the only chance he has is if they can't agree compensation with Feyernord for slot think he wants the job and is willing to prove himself on our terms where as Amiron seems to think we should be jumping to his demands don't see any way back for him from here think where to far down the line with Slop who I think will take £5m rather than £10m he wants he is on £4m now we will see be interesting
🤞
Don't want either of them but especially don't want Amorim
I think so,amorim name still there.
i honestly feel sick amorim was the perfect backup too alonso just don’t understand how we are replacing klopp with arne slot it’s not right …
I just don't know if Edwards would be showing his genuine hand to amorim 😮 use slott ...yes but tell all the click journos of their genuine plans
Liverpool already ruled him out, got to be Slot more likely
Of course it's gonna be slot. Pay closer attention my friend.
Sporting paid 10 million for Amorim three years ago fgs. After he had coached Braga for 6 months only.FSG ,typical, wants to pay as little as possible.
Only mugs go and pay the first price when the ability to pay less is potentially available. Amorim seems to have been offered double his current wages, but he turned round and wanted £10m net, or around £15m base wage. That's almost as much as Klopp is getting, it's far more than every other manager in the PL gets apart from Pep at City. Oh, and he wants a signing bonus just for giggles. Every extra million quid spent on recruiting the manager is a million less in the kitty for players. I can't stand FSG, but they're very shrewd business people and won't be taken for fools.
@@Nite-owl Liverpool want him to do Klopp's job but don't want to pay him a decent salary? It makes little difference what he earns at Sporting, it's how valuable could he be to Liverpool. You can always structure a deal too: Year 1 - X; Year 2 - X+; Year 3 - X++.
@@bertiew6771 Of course it matters what he's on at Sporting. So does his experience, trophies won, European experience, etc etc, it ALL matters. So does paying an appropriate rate based on the general standard in the PL. You think it's appropriate to instantly make him the 2nd highest paid manager in the PL despite never even managing here, and won nothing at the club 🤪because we're Liverpool 😂 If you give a 3 year contract at 15m per year (plus signing on bonus) and he turns out to be crap after a year, it will cost the club another £30m to get rid. That's the crazy territory of Chelsea, and look how many they go through. I'm glad you're not on the board at Liverpool ! Offering double his current wage is more than appropriate for an unproven manager.
and then man Utd will offer Amorim a zillion pounds to join their clown show.
And ruin him as a manager
@@greglyons2526 Oh that's a given.
You can't fail at MUC. Can't get any worse
