So effortless! And such a vocal range…..I have never heard or seen such a beautiful, nay stunning performer…Her face tells the story with her expressions throughout the aria…. My two biggest regrets are that (1) I was never fortunate enough to be at a live performance , and secondly that Jessye is very sadly no longer with us. Truly an exceptional singer. God has taken back his treasured Angel to sing with his heavenly choir. RIP Jessye, you will always be deeply missed by all who watch or hear you. 💐💕🙏

Does anyone other than me wonder why PBS no longer broadcasts extraordinary programs such as these (Live from Lincoln Center/Live from the Met, NY Phil opening night at Carnegie Hall) anymore? It seems that every time PBS announces a Great Performances program it is always, with no trace of hyperbole,, Andrea Bocelli. What happened? Is that what we've been reduced to? At the risk of dating myself, I miss broadcast such as these so much. Jessye Norman at her most moving, committed and breathtaking best. An extraordinary artist, beyond compare.
