And indeed you were the last to drive it! In fact, it was the last time it ran too! It is currently being stripped and once completed, will be sent to the big scrap yard in the sky. Thanks again, Zack!
It could have been a good car to learn snow driving with 😮.
🫡 It has served. Even in death its still working.
RIP to a legend.
May you rest in peace 76 firebird. You've had a good run.
😭
I hope the parts will be used to keep other Firebirds like this on the road. At least this one will be preserved in video form on CZcams. :)
Rip to a legend. I have a battle scarred war wagon of my own and I must make sure she never meets an end like this
I love this generation of Firebirds, the 70’s to 1980.
This car survived the oil crissis of 78ish , cash for clunkers 2000 . Until 2024 RIP 🙏
This is why I love this channel. You review all types of cars. Both new and old. Every other CZcamsr I am subbed to does the newest cars and usually the highest trim. You show us clapped out firebirds or newer corollas. A little of everything.
We love Firebird content
Dad has a 79 with a 400 and a 4 speed, and an 84 with a cammed 350.
I'm currently building (wrapping up) an 01 Firebird with a 3800 V6 and supercharged using a heavily ported Cobra m112 blower
That body style(97-02)is my favorite!
It always makes me happy to see old abandoned cars get revived and put back in the road even if only for a little while. And old cars are very hard to keep dead since most of them are too pissed off to die
I was thinking it could be saved until he popped the trunk and i realized it was very sick.
8:05 The 2nd-gen F-bodies were only manufactured in Norwood, OH, and Van Nuys, CA. The Lordstown sticker is for a Chevy Cruze, not original to this car. In the mid ‘70s when I was a little kid, I was in a tour group that went through the Norwood plant. At that time, they were making (mainly) the RWD X-bodies, i.e. Chevy Nova, Pontiac Ventura, Olds Omega, Buick Apollo. The Norwood plant has long since been demolished, and the later F-body production was Van Nuys only, before being moved to Canada.
The perfect high school car from 30 years ago.
Also, I'm stunned how similar this is to my brother's briefly owned '77 Camaro (he had it last summer... his Maro Summer). They both are at similar levels of jank. It was also blue... kinda.
It was fun to drive... but drove like a tool shed in a hurricane.
I have a HEMI that drives like an alcoholic at rehab. Every foot is headed a different way 😅
@@moonshinershonor202 This I believe.
My bro's car bizarrely had a solid motor and transmission, the power windows flippin' worked (they had no right to do that), and the suspension and steering were great.
...It just didn't have too much in the way of interior and those working power windows were dancin' around in their loose metal-only doors whether you had 'em up or not. And my bro got rid of the car before the rainy season for a reason.
@@Doctor_Robert No way, my trucks power windows rarely work, makes me miss manuals. it could have been a good snow car to tool around in, if only since it's on its last leg.
I remember these, shoddy build quality, and it shows here!
Gm was just horrible and still are
The Taurus wagon with the rear facing third seat made a very nice camera car for me back in the day.
It has one! My favorite feature of that car! Zack reviewed for Christmas last year
@@tedray5687 My cameraman sat belted in the rear seat and shot video of many interesting vehicles. I called him,"Tail Gunner Roy".
You opened up the trunk the Vice grip way!
I love these car reviews, not to be seen anywhere else
Zack, I am obsessed with your channel!!
Steering wheel looks like a boomerang or a banana toffee
Up till the 80's, Pontiacs used there own engine. This sbc 350 was a swap. The Pontiacs 350 was a de-bored (3.875") -400ci(4.02") With the same 3.75" stroke. Chevrolet 350 was an overbored 4" piston with 3.5" stroke. Totaly different combinaison that gave it more RPM but less low end torque.
Btw, there are no small block or big block in Pontiacs pre-chevrolet swap in the 80's
Makes me wanna get my 3rd gen Camaro running and driving so u could review
James Garner drove a Pontiac Firebird on The Rockford Files. Each year his character drove an updated Firebird from 1974 to 1978 model years. James Garner didn’t like the front end of the ‘79s. Show James Garner drove his 1978 Firebird until the show was cancelled in 1980.
My favorite F-body. The Firebird was so cool. Always wanted one. 😊
Are u being towed by that wagon hahah awesome review Zac
Lmfao I laughed so hard at back set catpiss part I wasn't expecting it 😂😂
I hope you can get your hands on a 98-02 WS6. It’s one of my “obtainable” dream cars and I’d love to see you review one.
Wow... Totally awesome
The 455 was still available in 1976. It was for the 1977 model year that it was dropped.
I remember, when I was a kid, my uncle had like 4 of these!
A truly epic car
with the radio missing how is the "radio tuned suspension" tuned
Daanngg brother, they got my hemi!
Omg I LOVE that wagon!!❤❤❤
He reviewed it last Christmas. Give it a look!
I would sell my actual soul to drive a black and gold firebird
I always thought the second-gen Camaro was hideous but I love how the Firebird looks. Always a shame to see a classic go but at least it'll go towards keeping another Firebird on the road. That's a nice-looking first-gen Taurus too.
Smokey and the Bandit was very nearly the biggest movie of 1977 and would have been if a little film called Star Wars hadn't come out.
Gotta Love the Survivors !!!
Need to overhaul
I have a 94 formula
Ahh yes the flat bladed screw driver also known as a "vintage Chevy keyset"!
Uncle toms flaming chicken!! My uncle used to love his flaming chicken.
Maybe we should call it the Phoenix
Dat Taurus Wagon
Ive seen old cars like this that st least run, and maybe i do need a deadbeat dad phased lolz
HELL YEAH BORTHER!!!
Brother

The rust on this car is rusting.
It's a firebird. It's name is based off the legend of the Phoenix. A bird that dies and is reborn from flame. I've definitely seen worse on the road this one is very much an easy fix with some time and passion.
Unfortunately it lives on in a 1977 TA. It's a base model firebird. Worthless cars. That's why I only paid 1200 for it lol
Its a cool car that worth saving. Its about a passion and not about numbers. If you think about numbers, leave this hobby and drive a prius.
Be my guest and save it. You can fix all the subframe rust, all the bondo, no floors, seals, leaks and finding a title. It's nothing more than a junk parts car. That's how it was sold. And that's how it will remain unless you want to pay 1500 for a shell of a car with no wheels, engine, windows or drivetrain.
It was a Pontiac 350 not chevy their diffrent
Technically it is because that's what's in it. I have zero history on the car. All I was told is it has a chevy 350 under the hood. And the vin shows 350 so eh lol
@@tedray5687 i get it. All the gm brands had a 350 that was kind of a 350 (349, 352 etc)
Pretty much lol
Say it with me
THREE FIFTY
Tom Selleck saved Ferrari 308
Send that thing to the boneyard
I am. I'm stripping the entire interior, new exhaust, tires and windows trim for my wife's 1977 trans am.
U.G.L.Y. with no alibi.
This car would be easy to save, every part is available. Some people just dont deserve to own a classic or any car at all because theyre jerks.
It's saving a 1977 Trans Am. It was cheaper for me to source a parts car than it was to by every part the TA needed.
