Sinclair C5 - rebuilding the motor and gearbox

Hey Paul, what's the technique for a brown-finger motor? Start disassembly at the other end?

Hey, yes indeed Ben.
I’ve done a few that weren’t broken and as there rare, it was worth servicing as best as I could. So what I did was put a strong cable tie (or jubilee clip ) round the gearbox fingers, to add some extra strength. Then remove the motor back and middle casings. Then I drilled a hole into the gearbox and sprayed in some Lithium grease down its straw.
Then rebuild the rear as per normal.
With the cable tie/jubilee clip , that will help it last longer I’m sure.
