- Again, sorry for the wait!!! But since NPC Control mod by Paulson is outdated and now no longer working for me, in this video I go over my solution to these random townies popping up, and this new (new to me) mod called Assign NPC Roles by Zero. Super fun, super easy to use, and I hope you find this video useful! Also! I found a solution to these random townies popping up, I figured it out by the time I was mostly done with this video, so my next video will definitely go over how I am preventing random townies from generating every time I load onto a lot!

The only thing that annoys me about doing make overs for randomly generated townies is when I get loaded into THEIR household instead of the one I'm actually playing 😩
Are you using MCCC? If so, you're probably doing it wrong. Go to "Sim commands" then "Modify in CAS". Don't click "Modify Household in CAS".

I WISH EA would just make it so that we can assign sims to roles! it's the most annoying thing when someone they created a backstory for already suddenly disappears from their role. this mod sounds like a good fix for it though!
Thank you so much, no one has ever explained what to do with XML Injector once it is in your mods folder and when you go into your game and what to do from there. Wow.
More than likely they assumed everyone knows this is what you need to do.

Yes! The XML Injector scared me away at first, but it actually is SUPER simple, you can totally handle it!

I do all of this in manage worlds and then just mark the sims as unplayed. No mods needed. CAS mode does take forever though and it seems my game never stops generating townies. Pretty sure it is culling some Ive marked as unplayed too but I cant really tell unless I start uploading them to the gallery. Great suggestion btw.

Wicked Whims also lets you see townie information. Although it isn't quite as easy to read as the MCCC menu.
I did things the hard way. Got a completely empty townie free save file and made every sim from scratch, then assigned all their roles.
That is the hard way, but also the most rewarding way to me!!!
How did you get an empty townie free save file? Id like to try this.
@@UnabashedErin Srslysims has a blank save file you can download. Just put the file in your save folder and load it up.

Thank you for this guide, but do you know if there's a mod that allows me to assign NPCs actual playable careers? One of my issues is that when I join a career, my sim has no coworkers, and I would love if there was a quick method to choose random townies to join that career without needing to manually play them and join the career.
Nice, at least there is a solution to it, I wish EA gave us a proper interface to do it.

Wow I was looking for something like this. Can you assign npcs for the doctor career on your mod ?
I just checked this out, and it seems like it doesn't give us the option for the doctor career, which is disappointing!
Just feel like mechanic to do it quick and easy should be there, especially if you have aging turned on. Since it would be a circle without end having to micromanage it.
Is it possible to assign careers that are modded? I have like producer and various other mod careers that I use.
how do you make it that there are 4 items of clothing instead of just two when you are picking off the list of clothes in cas?

I don't see the option to assign npc roles. It's like the mod doesn't work at all in my game.
Is Zero's mod still working well? If not have a look at this update to Npcc from Cepzid "Update Hotfix of Public Npcc Paulson Mod" available on a public post (patreon).
Yes, Zero's mod mod still works. The most recent update was after the last months Patch Update and there was no need for an update after the month end patch update
Were you referring to the free version of NPCC or the patreon version?
I was referring to the free version of NPCC, the one that has its own website! It was working for me, for a long time, but just recently it started crashing my game!

How do I make my own npc households? I don't want to play them. I just want them to have their own lives. Marking them unplayed isn't good enough. I don't want them under "my households" and instead under "other households". Is there a way to do this? I want to create my own interesting stories.
do you know how many of each npcs jobs are needed for a save file example how many maids vendors ect?
Apparently the game generates 3 of each but to be safe I made 4 - 8 depending on the npc job. For instance where you have to hire an npc like maids, repairmen, nanny's etc, I made 4 of each. But jobs where npc's are needed at different lots or for different shifts like bartenders, market stall vendors etc, I made 8.
@@KingBasieSims4 That's an awesome tip. I'll probably end up doing 4-8 of each per town. I have another mod that assigns townies to specific worlds. Having 4 nannies for the whole game wouldn't work because they wouldn't be allowed to travel to the other towns to work.
I don't have the "Assign NPC role" button on the characters, only on the mailbox where I don't see sim I need while scrolling the long list :(
What can I do?
Same, moreover the list in mailbox is empty, maybe because there are no townies currently in my save, only playable sims, I thought I can assign them jobs though :(
@@roflanrofler7956woah, how did you get rid of all the non-playable characters? I've been sitting for about forty minutes now and removing them one by one. I'm not sure if this will help... jaja :'D
@@roflanrofler7956I've read somewhere that each job has criteria for potential employees, that could be a reason your list is empty. It includes age and traits. I don't understand why I can't hire a young-adult as a nanny though since it has to be adult+... Illogical to me xD
@@hidnay your npc should also be homeless in a single house when you assign the roles. I've been playing around with that since I made multiple npc's for the same role.
If they are in one household when you assign the role, you won't be able to see them on the list. So you have to make them a single sim household that is homeless, that's when they'll show up in the list for what ever role you want to assign them.
I personally thus far haven't had an issue assigning young adults as nanny's. But I know you can't have an evil sim be one so the criteria is needed but I just don't understand how because in most cases it seems like any sim can be assigned anywhere with a few exceptions on some roles

I filled up some cities with families who have their own stories and wanted each family member to have his role hmhm...

I thiiiiiink there is a way to use a cheat to give townies NPC roles.... but from what I remember it was a little difficult-- it's been years since I checked into that though, so I am not positive!

I just play them, move them into a lot and then have them join a career on the computer . Then I mark them as unplayed and back in the bin they go.
