Stop being proud of living in an island where there are still social and religious inequalities and stop lying about the fact that Mauritius is a peaceful place to live I'm mauritian too and can sincerely say that a lot of things aren't going well in our country first the cost of living has risen to a level never seen before and moreover our government doesn't seem to care about his people and is always looking for excuses for everything going bad in the country. I'm proud to be a mauritian too and I love this country more than anyone but we need to be honest with ourselves life was better years before.

The state of Mauritius right now is deplorable... High unemployment, high rises in pricing of products and ofc the damn heat of summer and plus the cyclone that just came by. Anyways.. You can actually take a dna test online and start from there but it costs a lot. I've been wanting to get one myself but for now I just take pride being the descent of slaves or indian workers thriving for a better world.

What troubled past are you talking about?? Just curious, as Mauritius has historically always been known as a very peaceful country where different races, cultures and religions live peacefully side by side...
@@Madzguy007 not really, mauritius has a pretty troubled past as slavery has been abolished there years after it has been done in Europe due to French refusing the abolition of slavery(it has lead to a war between France and England for the possession of that island). Also most people there differentiate themselves through races, religions and culture and just tolerates each other (they don't openly show racism but there's a lot there).
@@mikumiku3897 Well Slavery was common in most countries during colonial days, it's not specific to Mauritius only...and as for ppl differentiating themselves through race, religion and culture, that is also common in most countries to this date
