Hey there, co-writer for Ghostware here! I completely get your point on the dialogue feeling weird - and unfortunately, it is on me. A good bunch of the episode 1 and 2 dialogue was indeed given an extra edit pass by our previous publisher, which i foolishly didn't double check because I figure they were just gonna notice any typos I'd made and not change things too much. Unfortunately, due to a mix of (assumed) language barrier and editing that probably prioritized keeping VA costs low, a lot of the dialogue we'd originally written came out sounding weird and stilted.
If you wanna see what my writing *actually* looks like, the Orbital News URLs are the bits that went into 1.0 unchanged.

It was indeed a case of troubled production and too many ideas thrown in the mix, I would've cut a substantial amount of things if it was for me.
The next project will be internally coherent since I'll be working solo, for the enjoyment I don't wanna make promises yet lol.
still while its a bit of a mess you brought me back to the early 2000s, the best time of my life and for that i want to thank you, the music and the webpages are spot on, the weapons are kinda weird, especially the very low ammo capacity.
I only played until i finished the first real world section yesterday. I didnt expect this game to be so story focused, it cuts you through the match to make it about story again. I loved the unreal tournament style music and the webpages, the combat and the weapons felt off, especially in the real world sections. I still apreciate that this game took me back to the best time of my life and i wish the edgy millennium sci fi setting of the 2000s made a comeback as well as the great economy, technological advancements and of course virtual music. It pains me every day that epic games killed unreal tournament for fortnite.
This game REEKS of classic UT vibes...and i love UT99 and UT04(and FPS botmatch games in general), so this is very interesting to me.
Love Unreal Tournament, and this looks great. Admittedly flawed in places, but still looks a good romp - Thanks for the review Kirk will grab this at some point! 😊
Ruby Ranger's review was enough for me to decide this is not for me but maybe ive been spoiled by Selaco and Ashes Hard Reset. I know Kirk is quite lenient compared to boomshoot critics and is mostly a chill fella who loves the genre a lot.

Speaking of which, I still need to try AMC TC, but part of me wants to wait until it's finished, since there are only 2 episodes left to be added to it LOL
This game wants to grab everything it can, but does it mediocre, yet game is interesting. In my opinion it is worth watching it's progress.
The Grateful Dead jokes were great because you were having fun in your review. Same with the King of the Hill joke. You could hear it in your voice. Good voice work there.
This game looks fun. I still have Unreal Tournament on my computer, so this is right up my alley. The more you showed of the voice acting and story the more I was turned off.
I think I may try it. Still intrigued.

Loving the review but in-game audio seems a bit loud, maybe I'm just being a cranky old man--although I love insanely loud music outta my speakers, the arena fighting and gunfights can seem jarring loud in the early part of the review. Hope this is a reasonable critique.

@@KIRKCOLLECTS No worries, I'm probs tripping. I just figured it's always better to have your VO be the loudest thing in a vid. Maybe throw a sidechain on you over any gameplay going on, if you don't already.

Yes but the timing kinda sucks, I’m currently flying and have no way to play it. But I’ll try to cover it when I can.

Bought this in EA because it looked cool and I want to encourage this kind of thing, I haven't played 1.0 yet but I'm happy I gave them my money, I hope they spent it on weed.

Τhis game has the worst AI i've ever seen in a game. The enemies do literally nothing even on highest difficulty.
I actually got this game in a bundle with a bunch of other shooters like a year ago, only played a little bit of the beginning and found it neat. Had no idea it finally entered 1.0 so that’s cool, might play it sometime soon just because.
I feel like most people are going to buy and play this just to feel better after Unreal became illegal to buy
