From the first season with the revised set, and Charlie O'Donnell as Barry-Enright's go-to announcer, instead of Jay Stewart. Nice to see an original broadcast.
In New York, this aired on WCBS Ch 2 at 4:30 right before Barnaby Jones. By Jan 1982, Ch 2 was playing musical chairs as The Jokers Wild moved to 9:30. After a 3 year residence at the CBS flagship station, they returned to it's original home WOR Ch 9.
The Joker,s Wild Jack Barry era 1972-84 along with The Hollywood Squares with Peter Marshall and The Price Is Right Bob Barker era 1972-2007 & The New Treasure Hurt Geoff Edwards era 1973-77 never gets old to me.That,s because I,m now considered a senior because I,ll be 52 years old April 12th.
In the summer of 1985 while THE JOKER'S WILD with host Bill Cullen still running in syndication, ABC Daytime carried the daytime version era of the game show THE ALL-NEW JOKER'S WILD with host Victoria Principal airing every weekday morning at 10:00AM (EST) premiering Monday, July 15th!
My late father Phillip Anthony Routhier turned 57 years old in 1981 (9-17-1924-8-6-2001) & my late mother Lois Ann Routhier (10-28-1934-5-6-1984) turned 47!! We had moved out of my cousin Don Via,s house(3024 Iona Ter.Balto.Md) & we moved to 5606 Albanene Pl.Apt A2 Balto.Md 21206 which Dad named appropriately "ROACH HAVEN"!! We lived there since September & we lived there until December of 1982 when we moved to 319 W.Lorraine Ave Balto.21211(where I lived for 13 years & when the house got passed on from my parents to my late stepmom Marie F.Routhier(6-14-1913-3-24-2001)& stepbrother Eugene B.Montz Jr.aka GENE/GINO(4-25-1939-3-25-1997) until I moved out September 1,1995).
The Joker's Wild was on NBC Affiliate WDIV-TV Channel 4 from 1979-1984 at 7:00PM nightly with host Jack Barry until his death in 1984, but in September 1984, WXON-TV Channel 20 carried The Joker's Wild with host Bill Cullen at 6:30PM nightly right after Tic Tac Dough with host Wink Martindale at 6:00PM also nightly until January 1985, and followed by Dallas at 7:00PM every nightly. But, The Joker's Wild with host Bill Cullen went to ABC Affiliate WXYZ-TV Channel 7 for it's final season at 10:30AM daily right after Tic Tac Dough with new host Jim Caldwell at 10:00AM also daily for it's final season in fall 1985.
The Audience Game was not played on every show in the 1981-82 season, at least not early on in the season. Jack says at the end of this episode that they were playing the audience game on the next show.
If there's any visual indications about this show, Season 4 not only marked the breakage of the Gender Balance but also introduced the nametags. This season brought us the audience game, meaning the episode can end with 9-10 minutes left in the episode because of the audience game, this new set also brought us the players now making their entrances when introduced.
I think by this time WLFD Chicago dropped TJW from it's weeklight lineup but brought it back 2 years later also at night and aired it till I'm not sure when the I know it ended in 1986.
One more I don't understand, I know when you usually win on this show it is $500 or more, but Jack/Bill will say a contestant gets a final turn, "How does that happen sometimes?"
From kaufman-astoria studios stage-c in millerville-city luzerne-county ioml this is the game where knowledge is king and lady-luck is queen it's the joker's-wild & here's our host jack-barry.
It was actually added during the 81-82 season premiere week, but was only played a couple of times each week until about halfway through that season, when it was played daily from then on.
IN 1990 IT CAME BACK WITH PAT FINN AS THE HOST AND LARRY VAN NUYS AS THE ANNOUNCER AND IN 2017 IT CAME BACK WITH SNOOP DOGGY DOGG AS THE HOST AND..AS THE ANNOUNCER.
Wrong 👎😑, Marc! Ed MacKay 🍎 became the new announcer of the short-lived 1990 revival of THE JOKER 🃏’S WILD, not Larry Van 🚐 Nuys because he was the new announcer of the short-lived 1990 revival of TIC TAC DOUGH with Patrick Wayne becoming the new host. However, Pat Finn (SHOP 🏬 ‘TIL YOU DROP) became the new host of THE JOKER 🃏’S WILD.
The Jokers Wild I used to watch it on WDIV channel 4. Jack Barry hosted until his death in 1984 he died while jogging at Central Park in early morning hours of May 2, 1984. Jim Peck substitute host from 1982-86. Bill Cullen last two seasons after Jack Barry died WDIV didn’t air any of his episodes.
HE DIED WHILE HE PRODUCED THIS SHOW AND HOSTED AND THIS SHOW AND WHILE HE PRODUCED TIC TAC DOUGH AND HOT POTATO.HE PRODUCED THIS SHOW TIC TAC DOUGH AND HOT POTATO WITH DAN ENRIGHT.
It never had. I watch Buzzr a lot and mostly Goodson-Todman shows now owned by Fremantle. This game show is not owned by Fremantle it is owned by Jack Barry Dan Enright productions.
The four day sale ended on MOnday in the commercial in question, so it seems to me the episode aired on a Friday. The person who uploaded this has other videos from 10/9/1981, so perhaps the airdate here is 10/9. The person who uploaded this probably doesn't realize that this hasn't been seen since at least 1982-83(some stations aired double runs of Joker that season, including WPVI in Philly in Spring-Summer 1983, with the second run being a year old rerun), as GSN never aired this season.
From the first season with the revised set, and Charlie O'Donnell as Barry-Enright's go-to announcer, instead of Jay Stewart. Nice to see an original broadcast.
We're getting there! All we need are the new Face the Devil music and an audience game every day.
James Fabiano The New Face The Devil music was same as bonus island win on Bullseye.
From October 9, 1981, to be precise, Vahan.
This is also a rare episode where the bonus game was played 3 times in the same show.
You've got it, Rob H.! On the October 9, 1981, episode of THE JOKER 🃏’S WILD, of course.
This is awesome, I would love to see any 1980-81 TJW episodes other than the $1M tournament.
Ah, that was the season where they finally broke the Gender Balance and added the nametags but still didn't have the player entrances.
Me too. Especially the 4th season finale (last of the old red set).

7:00 WDIV Channel 4 was a mainstay for a number of years. I wish more episodes would show up.
Me too, Eyehate 👁️.
love this show
So do I, Marc.

ONE OF MY FAVORITE GAME SHOW HOSTS WAS JACK BARRY AND TWO OF MY FAVORITE GAME SHOW PRODUCERS WERE JACK BARRY AND DAN ENRIGHT.
Wow! Look at that Joker lights spin! Wonder they didn't blow a fuse!
THIS SHOW SHOULD HAVE AIRED ON BUZZR.
As well as the short-lived 1990 revivals of both THE JOKER 🃏’S WILD (Pat Finn) and TIC TAC DOUGH (Patrick Wayne).

October 12, 1981, to be precise, dumb boyiam.
good show
From the October 9, 1981, episode, of course, Marc.
By the way this also one of the rare joker,s wild shows where both contestants spun JOKER JOKER JOKER!!
THIS SHOW WAS PRODUCED BY JACK BARRY AND DAN ENRIGHT.
Yep 👍!
RIP JACK BARRY DAN ENRIGHT JAY STEWART CHARLIE O,DONNELL & BILL CULLEN!!
I remember Bonanza restaurants! :)
You have any (Tic Tac Dough) with original commercials as well? I've asked that before, if this disappears and your videos, go to archive org
Is that a young Jerry Springer? 😲
I like the happy music @7:42 when they show the categories.
this show was recently aired on GSN
22:56: A true sign saying "NOT SO FAST, Mister!"

What other Game Shows do you have? I saw NBC WOF was one of them.
Saturday is the 36th anniversary of the Jack Barry appearance as a contestant on the May 2, 1984 episode of Celebrity Bucket Kickers.
dumb boyiam Jack Barry died that day
One more I don't understand, I know when you usually win on this show it is $500 or more, but Jack/Bill will say a contestant gets a final turn, "How does that happen sometimes?"
It happens only if the first player reaches $500. It's done so both players get an equal amount of turns at the Joker machine.
Speaking of (Bullseye), in the promo, does anyone have any of those shows from this season?"
Yeah 👍!
TIC TAC DOUGH

From kaufman-astoria studios stage-c in millerville-city luzerne-county ioml this is the game where knowledge is king and lady-luck is queen it's the joker's-wild & here's our host jack-barry.
So many times he opened the show with "on our last program, we crowned a brand new champion"!
I liked the '78-'81 set much better.
I knew Portland was in Oregon and Maine 😇

Does jack-barry knows that he has gene-rayburn's microphone.
If Jeff could beat his 4th opponent and 1 more after that, he’d win a new car.
I'm assuming they added the audience game later in the season.

@@ChuckD79 Oh yeah, and I see the audience game podiums, too. Sorry for not noticing it.
@@ChuckD79 At one point early on, didn't the rules say each audience player got two spins? (didn 't happen in another 1981 ep up there)
What I'm looking for is Bill Cullen's version "Joker Home Bonus"
"Did WDIV 4 air all three, TJW TTD and (Bullseye)?"
If I can remember, Tic Tac Dough was originally on Channel 2, but eventually went over to 4 when Bullseye got cancelled.
