- On this adventure I find myself in a thick pine forest in the mountains of Vermont and what I find may be the most incredible discovery of my life.
If you're interested in knowing more about Anna and her life, I've put together a video about her here: • The Story of Anna & th...

I really can't say enough about this young man, especially the video where he was talking about people saying that he returned his findings to the family that own the land. I appreciate a honest person like him, it's people like him that I know would be an awesome friend, because I try hard to be myself. God Bless you sir and happy diggings
Brad,
Love the program.
I would like to see a video on your finds and the infamous wall you often refer to when talking on your collection or where a recently found artifact will most likely be displayed .
Have you ever traveled to western Ma. to do any detecting?
Also , the music you use on the show is perfect and so original. Is this your compilation?
Well done Mr. Martin
John Graham
Please tell us what your research uncovered about the silver medallion.
At first I thought it was a slave tag, but this is way to ornate.
It's a Christening Medal worn around the neck on a chain.
@@kellychamberlain6093 The imagery and symbolism
on the flip side seems pagan though, no?
Naked man, bird on a string, wheat? Not super Christian looking to me.
@@marcnebel5680 Hey Marc There is a lot of strange stuff in the bible. I'll give a close look and get back to you. Cheers

Astonishing piece of history in that piece of silver
RE: that beautiful little silver tag... The design of a child holding a bird was used in painted portraits in Europe as a symbol of innocence; sometimes the child would be shown kissing the bird, or allowing it to take grain from their lips. Why this meant innocence I don't know, but it was very cute and I can think of four or five paintings with just that sort of thing in it. I have to feel sorry for whoever lost it, but I'm glad you found it. Loved that little sickle, btw; looked like a pruning sickle.
Someone was heartbroken to have lost that medallion, it is so special! Great find!
If he's finds them imagine that phone call that would be received, I just found your great geat great grandmothers x? medallion!
I absolutely love how you respect the privacy of souls - living and otherwise. Props, Brad. Happy trails.
I posted a comment on the site where you had a CZcams video explaining your search for "Anna". It read as follows: "This is probably the best video you have made of your exploits with a metal detector, Brad! It is amazing that finding such a small item could 'open the book' to such a HUGE story. Thank you for all your hard work and being such an inspiring person!!"
Dammit Brad... the people need to know about the medallion !!!!
czcams.com/video/CcEa4SZd7UU/video.html
Brad, that was really cool. It must have been a feeling like I had when I found an unrestored early daguerrotype of my great-great-great-grandfather who did in 1848, online. I had been searching for years, and one day I search for it last July, and there it was. I now have seven generations of photographs of my family going all the way back to Nicholas who was a millwright, born in 1798, near Manchester, England. Brad, you have the perseverance it takes to be really, really good at what you do. You have a real skill at telling stories, and admitting your foibles make you all the more relatable, good job man.
Comments like yours are frequently the reason I read comments. I just enjoy personal stories so much and appreciate you taking the time to share it.
That is amazing. That many generations! You are fortunate!
@@snickers2877 If you have an image on glass it is an ambrotype rather than a daguerreotype. Daguerreoptypes are on a metal plate covered in a thin coat of silver. Daguerreotypes can be "restored" in that their cases, cover glass and preserver can be repaired or replaced. There are chemical techniques that make a faded daguerreotype temporarily more visible but these do long term damage and should be avoided.
Now that is amazing!!
My guess on the silver medallion is that it was from a father, given to his daughter. The bird on the string represents the day that the father lets his daughter fly away, possibly on her wedding day. The man is sitting on his daughters hope chest. Just my opinion. It is a very special find.
Why nude? I wonder. He spent everything on her dowry and wedding that he lost all his clothes? A bit of a joke maybe 🤔🙂🙃
I believe it probably more likely it would be on the day of her birth. Since the bird is on a string and has her birth date... If it was her wedding day I don't think it would be naming her as "Miss" and I think the image would be releasing the bird... IMO...
@@mcscheck2000 The engraving looks to be deeper etched on the "birth" side and a little more finely engraved. I was thinking that he made the "birth" side when she was born and did the "release" side years later. A very interesting mystery indeed.
Very interesting! I’m just wondering why he purposely covered up the last name with his thumb?
@@danny-li6io He covered it so not to reveal any possible information about the family or connection with the site location... He stated this somewhere within the video but maybe you missed it... I believe he will be doing an update on this in the near future...
You definitely need to go back to this site in the spring when the foliage is down. Great hunt Brad! Keep us posted on the medallion
Brad - You have been given a very spoecial task. The name of a completely anonymous person out of history has been brought to your attention. It is now your duty to learn as much as you can about Anna. Something about Anna's life has meaning in your life or the lives of your family members. Don't fail in this task! Something like this happens only rarely in our modern world.
Love your video's.
That tool is a form of scythe, it's small so it might have been for a child. I used one as a kid on the farm, it would have a long handle on it. You used it by putting the blade, (the sharp part is on top facing the handle), behind the weeds you wanted to cut and pulling towards yourself, with a short jerking motion. I weeded bean fields with one for years. When I got older I used a larger one with a longer handle and did more rows at a time that way. My Grandfather would pay me by the row. (I'd blow it at the county fair) I loved looking back after a days work and seeing how different the field looked and how good they would look at the end of the year compared with ones not weeded or done with machinery or herbicides. Me and my cousins were the last generation to do it by hand on our family's farm and even then it was rare and done more just so we had money for the county fair and so we would win prizes for largest harvests and stuff like that. The good old days, were hard but fun.
its a corn cutter
@@danarnold3239 Yep, that's what we were mostly weeding out of the been field, well corn and pig weed those two mostly.
An incredible find that can weave together the past and present. Nice little feature on the detector to find your lost pin pointer, and as always the scenery is gorgeous and looks like a warm day for that time of year.
Absolutely love the videos! You’re definitely one of my favorite youtubers, every video you make you put a lot of effort into it. Keep up the great work and stay safe!
Wow! One of your best video productions, to- date! Love when you inset a picture of the actual / clean copy of the coins you find so we can 'see' what you're seeing. Also, made myself chuckle talking back to the video..."Wonder what they did without this (clock key)?"...haha They lost all sense of time!
First of all, you make the best metal detecting videos on CZcams I've seen on a regular basis Brad. So it's with no surprise that I find myself watching a video of this caliber again. Love it.
I’m thinking that the revelation of what you discover about the medallion deserves its own video. Could be your most watched!
I love the tag, very cool! The sickle with the handle, I look forward to seeing it finished. You just had a really great day! Even though the finds were 20 minutes apart, they were all really cool! Thank you for another wonderful video!
What a great hunt I really like the fines this may be one of your coolest videos yet I'm glad you saved it for this time of the year keep up the great work you are one of my favorite metal detecting videos
Hi Brad. Great video and hunt. It looks like the silver piece was homemade from a spoon bowl. Incredible find! Take care, Sebastian.
Congratulations Brad on your finds. The medallion is an awesome and personal find. Thanks for sharing. "Chris-Preserving the Past Archaeology "
Brad, probably my favorite hunt to date! That birth medallion is outstanding!! Thanks brother!
Love the medallion and though I’m no detector of any kind, I watch all your videos!
Did you ever locate the family of Miss Anna? What became of the medallion? That was a cool find! It may have some genealogical significance.
Brad, you are a class act!! You are the the reason I'm back in the hobby. Thanks for all you do!
Your medallion find gave me cold chills. That is my daughter's birthday, and that's obviously a father's gift to his daughter, or at least that's my take. It is amazing. That is a great site, great hunt. Stay safe and keep digging.
-- Or perhaps a father's gift to his wife on the birth of their daughter. Oh, if those trees, rock walls or bricks could talk!
I probably already commented on this video years ago but its so good with so many amazing finds! Watching the Anna's playlist with Mason today, no school for a teacher's workshop. Anna's pendant is absolutely incredible, and a Nova Constellatio as well as a Connecticut State copper!! This has to be one of your best days digging ever! Awesome video Brad!
I have to say that in all the different ways I watch people hunt for treasure, that the general things everyone wants is a hidden lost fortune, precious medal, or something that ties you to someone from the past. Finding precious metals with so much detailed information, unless you find a lost treasure(still hoping you do) is a find of a lifetime. I'm seeing a post that you may have found information about her, as a viewer, that is priceless! Thank you.
I like it when you show your find all cleaned up, but you usually just do it with coins. Love to see them all. Happy for your silver find.🥰
How did your research turn out on the medallion?
czcams.com/video/CcEa4SZd7UU/video.html
Just for the sickle and that piece of personal commemoration (and the cinematography). Great! Thanks.
So good you were able to find your pin pointer and I can completely understand why you love the medallion you found - a wonderful find! 🙂
I just watched this and was glued to the TV! I can’t imagine the time and work invested! Well Done!

Hi Brad, wow that silver birth medallion was beautiful and so precious, what a fantastic find, congratulations. The other finds were very cool too, thank you for taking us along, much love. xx 🙏💖
The silver birth medallion, for Anna, is such an amazing find 😃 Two coppers, the great clock winding key, the brass buckle and that hand sickle; all excellent finds ☺ Fridays are always made better by your GMMD videos. Have a great weekend Brad and family!!
Amazing video Brad! Love how the productions just keep getting better and better. Please tell us what you can of your research on that silver object!
Awesome video Brad! That silver piece is amazing! Thanks for sharing
Thank you for taking us with you. Beautiful place awesome finds!
Glad you had that feature on your machine - that pinpointer-finder...! Great finds again, certainly unique ones...!
What a wonderful find. So much forgotten in the past. This is truly a great find.
Your photography and music is phenomenal I so enjoy the way you present everything. And I really enjoy the history also of course :-)
Your hand movements over the holes you dig reminds me of a kid show I used to watch many years ago. The Soupy Sales Show. There were 2 puppets that were just hands in a sleeve that looked like dog paws. White Fang and Black Tooth were their names and all you saw was their hand movement and gestures as they spoke.
Watching this post and hearing that you re-purpose some the buckles you find, made my day. That is awesome!! The other find is pretty cool too, lol. Cheers
As always a great history lesson and beautiful scenery. Your editing and music are awesome!
Looks like you had a great day! Sure is a great video! Looking forward to hearing what your research into the name & date written on the silver medallion turned up!! Thanks for taking us with you!!
What a great trip! This has got to rank up there for finding the coolest items. Wonderful!
Great finds... loved joining you!
Outstanding and historical find! Please keep us informed on that piece 🙏
Wow, what a fantastic find Brad! It's a holy grail if the county or village kept good records on its citizens. I have to agree with you this is the best find I've ever seen you dig out of ground.
Nice to have you back in your original format....I've missed your plain but artistic videos...
I have missed you. Thanks for this episode. Amazing finds!
Brad,
From the moment you started searching that arae, I was excited,.
That was never touched and apparently there were few indications of residents, but you found it!
I hope you are able to share that person's history with us, a unique silver medal has to be begging us to
remember that family. I had a lump in my throat when you showed it! Tutankumans woods tomb😁
It's probably the best discovery I've seen, now for DeGrau:)
Cheers,
Rik
Phenomenal finds, and OMG the scenery there in Vermont is spectacular. Love your editing!
Wow, Brad, you're killin' it out there. Love the dated charm! That Nova's a daymaker too. GL&HH
Wow!!! Best metal detecting channel on CZcams in my book!
My mother's family (O'Grady) lived in Vermont. When her father died we left Ohio and went to Vermont. We had a family reunion at one of family members who had a farm up in the mountains. I got to ride a pony around the farm. It wasn't happy and threw me off.
Wow. Nice find. Yes great day!!!
Always love to see the things you find Brad!
Very happy you didn't go with the Oak Island deal. Your videos are always mesmerizing, and I only wish I had enough time left to learn what you have about located sites and treasures. Stay with what fills your soul with joy and thank you for sharing your time with us.

What a cool place and what an awesome find! Congrats!
Very cool info with your pin pointer, glad you found it!
What a great feature to have on a metal detector. I’ll bet you’ll find some interesting info about the person who owned the silver medallion. Yep the blade is a sickle or hook.
A really unique find - the landowners should be happy with that & I'm sure there's a great story to discover... 👍🐾🦘😎
Happy Birthday, Miss Anna!
Awesome, love that personal find, just unique and beautiful 👍
