    I have been following your progress from day one when you could see the basement. LOL, you're doing really great work and I love the progress. I'll keep watching. I am a newbie at this and I'm learning something every day. I love the hobby of model railroading especially O gauge. Anthony 🚂🚂🚂

    UHHHHHHHHHHHHHH LIKE WOW MAN. I SAW MY FIRST TRAIN LAYOUT WHEN I WAS 3. IT STUCK IN MY BRAIN. I HAVE BEEN LOOKING AT LAYOUTS (USUALLY IN PERSON, UNTIL CZcams) ALL OVER THE COUNTRY AND EUROPE FOR 63 YEARS, SINCE MY FIRST ONE. (SO FAR) I RECEIVED MY FIRST LIONEL TRAIN WHEN I WAS 10. MY PET PEAVE WITH LIONEL LAYOUTS WAS THAT MOST ONLY HAVE TRACK TACKED DOWN ON PLYWOOD AND BUILDINGS, WITH NO ANYTHING ELSE, AND LOOKED LIKE A JUNKYARD TO ME. FIRST YOUR ELEVATED ENTRANCE TO YOUR LAYOUt IS PURE GENIUS, I HAVE NEVER SEEN ONE BEFORE. YOUR BALLAST AND TREES AND SCENERY IS PRISTINE. ALSO ONE OF THE BEST I HAVE EVER SEEN. (IT RIVALS ERICKS TRAINS EVEN.) NOT ONE GRAIN OF SAND OUT OF PLACE (THAT I COULD FIND) ALSO NO JUNK OR BOTTLES OF GLUE AND CRAP SITTING ON THE LAYOUT WHILE YOU WERE FILMING. NOW MY ONLY PROBLEM IS TODAY IS SHOT BECAUSE I HAVE TO SPEND THE REST OF IT LOOKING AT ALL THE REST OF YOUR VIDEOS. (JUST SO YOU KNOW, I RARELY THROW OUT POSITIVE COMMENTS, BECAUSE I AM JADED AND HAVE SEEN EVERYTHING IN MY 66 YEARS.) GOOD JOB, NO...GREAT JOB YOUNG MAN, YOU HAVE A LOT TO BE PROUD OF.

    Wow great job!! I did the same thing with my table and what I did were ever I had a seem across a road is I made a "speed bump" and the fire you don't see the seem. It worked great. Just glue whatever you use to the part of the table that goes up and down and it works!!

    Love your layout! There is only one thing bugging me is your yard. From where the locomotives are, there is only one way out. To get the locomotives out from the far left side you have to move the locomotives on the one line every time. From the looks of it you could have put a triple switch in and used the far right track to connect to the out going track. So you would still have 2 coal tracks and another way to get the locomotives out.

    I have seen all your videos, and love seeing the progress.I have a layout that I am currently working on. Seeing the progress your making keeps me going with mine. But, mine is not quite as big or detailed as yours. I have been adding detail here and there with my wife's help. Are you doing all the work by yourself? Because that does look like a lot of work.

    Sean Thank You for a wonderful review on the new Trackside Crain it was a very informative review. Maybe if enough people send a E-mail to Lionel and explain to them about the pro and cons of the New Trackside Crain we just might see in the near future a new and improved version of the Trackside Crain.
    Sincerely

    Very very nice layout and the woodland scenic roadbed works really well as roads however do you plan to use anything to harden the surface of it? I have noticed that if you put a vehicle on the roadbed after a while the roadbed will sink in where the tires are.

    Hey Sean, I just paused the video at 4:00 minutes to suggest possibly using speed bumps to hide your lift gate road seems! So far the scenery looks fantastic!

      +Bill Yates Quick question. How does the video quality look. I shoot in in HD and its crystal clear on my PC but after I upload it to youtube it looks degraded when I watch it. Does it look HD on your end? I'm not sure why its degraded after upload.

      +Seans Train Channel CZcams automatically adjusts video quality depending on the viewers internet speed. Your video looks fine to me but when I click on the settings gear located below your video it shows that I am watching your video at 360P. Of course I can change that to 480P, 720P, or 1080P, but if I do, more than likely the video will continually pause and buffer! Hopefully that helps and thanks again for the video Sean!

    • @seanstraindepot
      @seanstraindepot  Před 8 lety +1

      +Bill Yates Oh thanks for the info, I never knew that setting was there. Try 720p is so much clearer and works fine, no buffering

    • @byates59
      @byates59 Před 8 lety

      Sean's Train Channel Hey Sean, I will try 720P, but it all depends on my internet speed, not yours. So if your internet speed is faster than mine you will be able to watch the video at a higher quality speed than me. Hopefully I am making sense LOL

    Hi Sean,
    How are you doing? Sean 1st of all I would like to say I just finished "My O Gauge Layout-Episode 7".
    So far I'm enjoying your My O Gauge Layout series. Keep up the good work. I have a question for you if you don't mind. Besides your current series I was wondering if you by any chance having any older videos that I could look at?
    The reason I'm asking you this question is because I would like with your permission of course to start a Library of all your Railroading and any Plastic Modelling videos (Planes, Amor, Cars Etc.)
    Sean What I would like to do is I would try to ask as many Railroading Layout and Plastic Model Builders throughout the world of You-Tube if I may keep there videos for REFERENCES ONLY!!!
    I Just Don't Believe In Abusing The Trust From My Fellow Railroaders and Plastic Modellers. For example : If I wanted to lookup on CZcams How-to Build A Railroad Arch Bridge for my layout
    or maybe I would like to Build A Particular BritishTank, by having my Library categor

  • @TheSteamKing
    @TheSteamKing Před 8 lety

    Looks great Sean! Do you think you could use a different camera lens sometime? The one you're currently using can be a bit distracting. It has this weird bubble effect where the corners of the video are rounded.

    • @seanstraindepot
      @seanstraindepot  Před 8 lety +1

      +TheSteamKing Sorry, That's how it is because its a Sony Action Cam, like the Go Pros that are used to capture action, like if I was skiing or something. It has a fixed wide angle lens. I don't really use a video camera for anything except for train stuff so can't justify spending money for a regular video camera just for these videos. Sorry.

    Sean, very nice layout. What are you using for the asphalt roads?

    • @seanstraindepot
      @seanstraindepot  Před 8 lety

      +Richard Jackson Its woodland scenic track bed. It comes in different sizes and super easy to cut since its basically soft foam sheets. Its actually meant to be used under the track, but the thickness and ease of use and color made it good for roads too.

    Dear Sean, I am a big fan of your channel it has given me a lot of ideas and you have a lot of wonderful information and tips. I have a question for you; I see that you have MTH Engine Shed and while also using Lionel Fastrack. I have the same track and the same building, except my MTH Engine Shed will not work fit nor work with the Lionel fastrack. I would be grateful for any help that you can offer to be able to use this building on my layout. Thank you please keep up the great work.

    • @seanstraindepot
      @seanstraindepot  Před 8 lety

      +Epic Cipe If you have one of the later Engine Sheds it will say "Accepts all O Gauge Track" on the outside end of the Box. If it does, then you have a compatible shed and you remove the plastic adapters that are screwed in the bottom and then Fastrack will fit. Unfortunately the instructions that come with the Shed don't mention it at all. If you look on the bottom you will see the plastic pieces that are stopping the Fastrack from fitting in and you just remove the screw to take them off. There are like 6 or 8 or them.If you have an earlier one before MTH made it universal then it won't fit over Fastrack.

    Sean great work on the layout. Just curious, what are the basic dimensions of your layout? it looks like a size I could do. Also, did you use any software for your track plan or did you just kinda wing it?

    • @seanstraindepot
      @seanstraindepot  Před 8 lety

      +Mike V. Its about 25 x 20. I thought it was going to be too small, but I'm actually glad its this size. Big enough for lots of stuff, but not so big I would never get anything finished. Not to mention the expense. The bigger it is the more it costs to finish.

    • @mikev.7166
      @mikev.7166 Před 8 lety

      +Sean's Train Channel very true. I'm not sure mine will wind up to be that wide. but certainly at least 20 feet long. probably 16 or 18x20. are you running all O72 or did you mix in some O84? also, what kind of track spacing are you running? I'd like to run some of the big articulated steam engines and I know they need a lot of space on the curves. thank you for your time sir and I look forward to your next update

    • @seanstraindepot
      @seanstraindepot  Před 8 lety

      +Mike V. Its 072. Anything bigger and I would have had to have less track and I needed it for the operating accessories. If I did not have the accessories then I could have used a lot more curves and had a better track plan.
