    Great video! I've also been keeping stiphodons for 5 years and I love them. I agree with all your recommendations. Additionally, I keep an external water recipient with some river stones and strong light to create algae in the rocks and eventually transfer them into the main display tank.

      Thank you! They are such a great fish to keep! That’s a great idea I do the same too, I forgot to mention it in the video! Great tip!

    They are so cute and cool to watch. Thank you for the advice.
    My local pet store had a shipment of them for the first time, no idea if they'll get more, so I grabbed the last of them. They've been great in my community tank so far.

    So helpful and concise! Great vid! I’m been researching and preparing a tank for stiphodons, really excited! The chilli rasboras are okay with the wave maker/fast flow? Trying to find some nano fish dither ideas - was thinking of kubotai rasbora could maybe work?
    Love the information! Is there any way the speed of the talking can be slowed down a touch? I sometimes miss some of the words, but still find this great and informative. Thank you!! 🙏

      Thank you so much! This means a lot! I haven’t got chillis in this tank, but I’d imagine they wouldn’t appreciate the wave maker, they are tiny fish! Zebra Rasboras or white cloud minnows would be good! There should be an option to slow the video to x0.50 on the settings part of the video, many apologies for that!

    Great video! unfortunately although we have them here in the wild we can't keep them as they are heavily protected, I still love to watch the videos from people overseas keeping them, Thanks for sharing, new subscriber 🙂

      @@KrishsAquariums I have seen them but haven't filmed them, I've only seen them in winter when the males don't have their breeding colours but unfortunately, I hope to film them in the wild one day if I get up that way in the warmer part of the year.

      @@KrishsAquariums I saw them, didn't film them though, I was in a bit of a rush to get as much as I could from the area and they weren't coloured up and I didn't want to spend to much time with them, they are very fast.

    Will I still need to treat them for parasites even when they come from a store who claim they don’t have diseases

    Hey I have a blue neon stiphodon and I was wondering why it doesn’t have the nice blue I see on other ones? I plan on getting some more stiphodons cause I love the behaviour.

    • @KrishsAquariums
      @KrishsAquariums  Před rokem +1

      Sometimes they maybe young and take a while to mature. It could be the water parameters too, they like soft water. Having females help bring out some natural breeding behaviour too!
