So, Rohan cavalry blindly charges in and stays engaged against an enemy which outnumber them severely. Against pikes formations AND standing still despite having fast horses beneath them just waiting to get surrounded. With no help from a 5k strong gondorian army. Guess the generals were corrupted by Sauron...
in all the videos on this page everything that has to do with Rohan is minimized, they are defeated very easily
@@ppgc1079 : I have noticed the creators favor the bad guys in their videos.
The creators are either ignorant of cavalry tactics (thinking they are just like infantry) or they are biased against the good guys. And no flanking or attacks from the rear by the good guys.

The heavy cavalry should be off on one or both flanks, to sweep around the enemy formation, to maximize the energy of it's charge. Frontal attacks on an infantry front are wasteful. You should have archers to thin the enemy ranks as well.

Looks great, but sending cavalry into a spearwall is some GoT level stupidity. :)
When did Got shows some cavalry charging a spear wall though? I remeber the Dothraki charge against Lannister spearmen, but those lines were sooo thin and were decimated by arrows and dragonfire before the charge met the lines so it's not illogical. Jon's BB showed cavalry to cavalry confrontation, and the Kngiths of the Vale attacks on Northern Phalanx were at the rear.

@@majorianus8055 I think he's referring to how stupid GoT was during the last season...ya know...light cavalry charging into a hoard of undead only to be completely wiped out.
@@brandondavis7777 but that also is not a bad tactic. They sent scouts and the best Dohtraki can do at the situation is either a direct cavalry charge since Dothraki arrows won't do shit. Most of their obsidian arrows are manned by the walls. I also really hate GOT strategy but cavalry charge by itself is not a bad strategy. The 20k Dohtraki horde vanishing suddenly was because of Magic that no one in the world except Bran could have predicted.
It was also an instant boost of soldiers to the army of the dead, and didn't delay the advance. @@majorianus8055

had the plan been to wait for the infantry to engage the shield wall and then let the cavalry charge from the sides would have been the better choice, with the archers and trebuchet firing at their center

Great video!!! And at least these Gondorian soldiers fought better in this battle then in the movies. But wasted the Rohan calvary. They had what they needed to slow an advancing army down...archers and trebuchets. Save the Rohan for later use. Still a great video though!

i like the shieldwall and the stabby stabby with the spears and that they have the highground and the archer support
i don't like the "waste" of the rohirrim, i would hold them back and use them as shock cavalry with the riders from gondor, one from left, one from right side or from behind.
then advance of the foot soldiers with archer cover ^^
but it was fun to watch :) and im surprised the framerate didn't drop to one digit numbers 🤣

In Tolkien's writings an orc is no match for a human soldier - the orcs would have to outnumber human troops many times (not just a bit) to have a chance of winning. And even then the - battle would not be in daylight.
The orcs in this mod look very weird. It’s hard to explain but when I try to use them the soldiers are like super black they have very little texture and it’s hard to see if they are wearing armor. They just look like a large black/dark brown blob. Is there anything in the settings to fix this? Also when was Rohan added?
It’s a mod so it’s not going to look perfect, I’m using ultra/high settings

@@WarAndHistory. I could talk rubbish but if you could have used the infantry to pin down the Goblins, then you could have surrounded them with the cavalry or at least hit them from the flanks, while the archers would have send volley after volley of arrows.

ERROR: Looks to me like the wrong breed of orc is displayed. This vid seems to use the taller stockier upright orcs able to wear man-like armor bred by Saruman for his "white hand" army, whereas moria and dol guldur are mordorian orcs that are generally more twisted and mishapen, and less disciplined in nature. The former can fight in tight formations, whereas the latter tend to use looser horde like groups.
