Vince is to thank for letting Roman retain at WM 37 & 38, but he had little to no choice but to listen to Roman and Paul Heyman who went to him with The Bloodline story. If he didn’t listen I think Roman would’ve just retired and Vince couldn’t allow that. I’d say Roman, Heyman, Triple H and the current creative team are most to thank

I think it would be cool if rock pinned cody at night 1. Then roman loses night 2 and rock decides to take matters into his own hands and faces cody at sunmerslam. At the end of that match, roman messes up and rock gets in his face so roman slaps the rock. Then when rock is pinning cody after a rock bottom, roman pulls the ref out before the 3 count. While rock and roman stare at eachother, cody hits a crossroads on rock, roman then watches as a new ref runs in and counts to 3. Then there you slowly build to wm 41

i can’t believe people still think rock taking cody’s spot wasn’t a work. why the hell would they have cody win the royal rumble knowing (they already had the rock tease it) that they would be doing roman vs rock? why would they have cm punk cut a scathing promo to cody about how some big name is gonna come and steal his moment? why would they have such a clearly thought out plan in place now after apparently completely pivoting the main event TWICE and doing it on the fly? the rock wanted to turn heel. him and triple h know wtf they’re doing. it’s all a work and everyone fell for it. completely part of the plan
