Pickettywitch on Top of the Pops. Tune into the Seventies Slammer at noon every Saturday on Waves Radio. It's available on 101.2 FM, on digital and online at www.wavesfm.com
I was born in 1970. I first heard this on vinyl in about 1978 and I've loved it ever since. It's such a catchy uplifting tune and Polly's singing is outstanding. This stands head and shoulders over much of the DROSS that masquerades as popular music today. This is a song you never tire of hearing- I heard it today on Greatest Hit's Radio this morning, Ken Bruce played it. I was working in my business and it put a smile on my face. Also- note the QUALITY of women back in 1970- no obesity, no tattoo's, and not dressed like they work in a strip joint. I was born 20 years too late............
Cracking little pop tune with a late 60's feel to it, makes me feel nostalgic. Their 2nd release, it got to no. 5 in the UK charts,..Pickettywitch were a gem of a band, wish they could have kept going! Best of all, Pretty Polly, a gorgeous sex chick up front, she had real star appeal...lovely voice also!
"That Same Old Feeling" is the title of a pop song composed by John Macleod and Tony Macaulay which in 1970 was a Top Ten UK hit for Pickettywitch, an English band fronted by Polly Brown. In the US the Pickettywitch single vied with a rival version by The Fortunes, with both versions scoring well-enough regionally to reach the Top 70 of the Hot 100, the national hit parade maintained by Billboard magazine.

One of the best 70's pop songs ever - different class to the complete and absolute dross of the last few decades
Great tune, and I love the way she sings, unassuming with not a care in the world! Different times, I'm glad I lived through it!
Harmonies can't be touched natural and unassuming band
Just loved this song, well done Polly, brings back a lot of great memories xx

Tearing at this heart of mine
Telling me that maybe I'm
Not really over you
Polly,s eye makeup is a work of art, puts Sophie Ellis Bextor to shame, I love it, proper women back then

FULL LYRICS
I still get that same old feeling
tearing at this heart of mine
and telling me that maybe I'm
not really over you
I still get that same old yearning
tearing my heart inside out
and Love there can't be
any doubt
I'm still not over you
The oak tree where you
carved my name
a year ago now
Somehow doesn't really
look the same
I think it snows there
The places we would go
Still play the songs
we used to know
But I still get that
same old feeling
tearing at this heart of mine
and telling me that maybe I'm
not really over you
I still get that same old yearning
tearing my heart inside out
and Love there can't be
any doubt
I'm still not over you
Doo-du-du-doo Doo-du-doo
Doo-du-doo Doo-du-doo
Doo-du-doo Doo-du-doo
Doo-du-doo Doo-du
The cottage where we
used to play
is overgrown now
We dreamed we'd live there
too someday
just on our own now
The letters
you wrote me
still bring that
sentimental ring yeah
But I still get the
same old feeling
tearing at this heart of mine
and telling me that maybe I'm
not really over you
And I still get that
same old yearning
tearing my heart inside out
Oh and now there can't
be any doubt
I'm still not over you
Oh I still get this
same old feeling
tearing at this heart of mine . . .

Прекрасная песня, и солистка Polly Brown тоже!
Polly sounds similar to Dionne Warwick.

Backing vocals by (pre-Slade...Dave Hill.)
She's a bit of a looker, isn't she ? ❤
Polly Brown
Wow!

What ever happened to Polly Brown?
Why does the film quality look so weird ???
Oversaturated in the restoration attempt.
She’s a dead ringer for Alice off The Vicar Of Dibley.
you need to go to specsavers
@@rayash201 You need to go back to the sandbox.
