My dad lost his eye to a rare form of cancer ocular melanoma he has the same prosthetic that Bisping has. It’s hard for him to do some very basic things he use to do. The fact that Bisping won a world title blows my mind that he was able to win a world title like that... respect level is off the charts!

There's definitely a HUGE difference in having painful and unexpected cuts on your eye during a fight. Opposed to not having a working eye for years and being able go through training camps and adjusting the best you can to having one eye. I'm not saying it's easy. But it's drastically different from an eye gouge during a fight. Ever had your eyes badly scratched? I have. More than once. You can't physically keep your eyes open. You have to hold them open. It's a different thing. You people bitching about Stephen's are just ignorant.

I love these too. They are remembered as two of the biggest trash talkers to do MMA but they have such a mutual respect for each other. Both are great fighters and people.
My buddies all thought I was crazy when I said Bisping was one of my favorite fighters of all time, now they are all jumping on the band wagon
He isn't one of my favorite fighters but I have definitely come to enjoy him more since he won the title and then retired. The Kelvin fight gained him a lot of respect I think and his commentary and knowledge of the sport is excellent as well.
