- Big 'Ol Trail Bike is how I describe the HD6 by Ibis. I waited until I had enough miles on this bike before sharing my thoughts...and spoiler alert, my impressions fall right in line with the rest of the reviews to date -- it's a really great bike.

Shout out from Northern BC! I've been out of the game for years, life just dose that, really enjoy your vids and has lit the bug! Just picked up xxl fluid and am loving riding again. Thanks for the inspiration!
Thanks man! Appreciate the love and glad you’re back on a bike. Let it rip! 🤙
so with all that you said, when you gonna list it for sale?? lol!
Not for at least a year 😁 I still have my Norco Fluid (a year+) and I’ve got a good feeling about the HD6. Thanks for watching 🤜🤛
Maybe next week lol
That's a sweet rig Milton!
Thanks man 👊
That is one clean steed brotha! Another top notch Miltonator review. We gotta get you back out to OC so we can really test that bike on the steeps 🤙
😅 yeah man, was hoping to ride laguna and include that footage on this review but didn’t pan out. Soon enough tho 👊
@@MILTONATOR let's gooooooo!
That is an awesome bike. Enjoy.
Thank you
Love that bike ! Good for you ditching that fox 👏
Great video bro, always enjoy new bike day with yourself😊, I noticed the coil has been swapped out on the fluid? Saving for a new vid🤔
Thanks man. Now that I have the big travel bike my plans are to take the fluid back down to its stock travel of 130/140 (I have it overstroked and over forked at 143/160) I’m hoping to make it full DVO - New Diamond D1 up front and new Topaz out back 🤞
@@MILTONATOR that makes sense Milton, hey are you pitching for a DVO sponsor deal😂
@@peterhaworth6859 ha! Not really but I have had interactions with a couple of them and they seem like good people and their products work really good, so that’s what’s attracting me them 🤷🏻♂️
Very thorough review… have you test ridden the new Jeffsey yet?
Thanks. I haven’t yet. I had scheduled a demo a couple of weeks before buying my HD6 but was cancelled due to weather.
I really like this bike brother🔥
Thanks bro. She’s a looker for sure. Getting excited for Snow Summit and hopefully Northstar with this bike
@@MILTONATOR Party wave and Boondocks🔥
Great one! I knew you would love this rig. I don't thing you would have been jazzed about the sb160 as much. You know, I swapped my X2 for the Rockshox vivid and it made the SB160 much better. I wanted that DVO prime but they decided to hold off and releasing it back in Dec. I'm not sure how much better or different it will feel from that Super Deluxe. I'm interested in your take when you get it. What the difference will be like. I have a feeling it might be quite similar.
Thanks! My buddy who highly recommended the hd6 also said the same about me and the sb160. Loving this RS super deluxe more than the x2 and the vivid was going to be my end game but decided to give dvo another go. I’m on a waitlist 🤷🏻♂️
Good video man. Thanks...
How would you compare this to the Ripmo?
Thanks! It’s bigger obviously but in terms of handling, it’s more stable at high speeds but just as capable on the ups. I hear a new (v3) Ripmo is due out next month. Curious to see what that looks like
Sounds like a lot of cavitation in the video; is that the fork or the shock? Love the look of the new HD6 but not looking for that much bike any more (had HD3 hears ago, then a Ripmo V1). Thanks for the video.
There is some noise coming from the fork which is “fluid flowing through the damper” -DVO it’s definitely a lot of travel. Thanks
This might be an odd question but i owned the ripmo v1 loved pretty much everything about it...till it got stolen. During the pamdemic. But ended up on the bronson mullet. With the rear a tad snaller i find myself nowadays struggling to kerp up with my fellow 29rs. Do you feel that way on this bike. Does it climb as well as thr ripmo?
It definitely climbs as good as a ripmo. But you’re right, a smaller rear tire gives agility but it does sacrifice rolling speed (some)
Looks sick! Lemme know when you sell it 😅
For sure 👍
Did you sell the Meta v5? did you have any issue with it ? thanks !
I didn’t come around to buying it. Which is as the plan after demoing it. I actually had cash in hand and was ready to buy the meta v5 but my buddy convinced me to give the HD6 a try. Given it’s a buyer’s market, this HD6 cost me as much as the Meta and so si figured I’d give it a try.
Hello Milton, how would you compare it to the Santa Cruz Bronson you one owned?
Hey Rob, they’re on two separate categories but the Hd6 has the geometry that I personally find more fitting for me. The Bronson I had was a large because it was a better option than the medium in terms of geo. Santa Cruz ride much smoother but Ibis bikes are more snappy and fun, in my opinion.
Cool. Love your channel, very informative. Keep up the great work Milton. Just subscribed to your channel. 🤙
@@robmartinez5428 thanks man! 🙏
What glasses were you wearing ?
The Oakley Jawbreaker glasses. Father’s Day gift 2-3 yrs ago and still fit well.
How’s the shoes treating you?
Shoes turned out great! No regrets 👌
You said agility so you will be getting a smaller travel bike in the future 😅
Already have smaller bike 😉 my Fluid
Never satisfied lol
🤮shoulda kept the e-bike
Nah
@@MILTONATOR yeah. You can’t ride that bike how it’s meant to be ridden fat boy. 🤣
Thanks for this review
Love Dvo
Is this bike a good allrounder?
How much did the new cranks cost?
Is it good at climbing 🧗?
It’s a good all rounder if you ride a good mix of tech and steeps and some mellower trails. If you don’t ride much tech and steeps, then a Ripmo v2 would be a much better option in my opinion
