So, this video we learned that in B, either all four will ride the tower or they will abandon tower for NO reason and there is no in between

That or you specifically are the only one riding the tower

@@joeyjose727 you can totally cancel a splashdown w a splash. honestly, if I was gonna suggest the best way to practice this out of band, I’d say go into the practice range. If the right most dummy is 12 o’clock, position yourself at 10, facing the dummy on the grates. Motion down, close your eyes, open them then motion up and try and hit the dummy on the grates without missing. Repeat.
In a match, if someone Splashdowns try to get in the habit of always trying to cancel, even at your own peril. It is really just a flick up for two or three shots. Once you get over the panic of getting killed and focus on the mechanic behind canceling it is super easy.
If you’re currently S/S+ I am confident you can perfect this with minimal practice. You can do it!
@@bobbyray8457 wait thank you... I’ve been thinking about how to practice Splashdown cancelling for a few weeks but it never occurred to me that there are training dummies in the practice range that are elevated 😭
But thanks for the encouragement! One day... it’s a very useful skill so I should really get into the habit instead of just waiting for it to end
At 3:50, when your team broke the Booyah armor, I realized that in my 4 months of S+ I’ve never seen a team effort like that. Huh.
The lower ranks do some of the more basic things better then top ranks honestly

Watching this series made me realize how little I know about splatoon, I don't even know how to cancel splashdowns and I'm somehow in S+ in multiple modes
Cancelling splashdowns is still a rare thing most people just don't bother to try in the S ranks.
Cancelling Splashdown requires a weapon that has enough range to kill the player, and good enough weapon accuracy to not whiff with the crosshair on the splashdown. Generally, one just has to aim up, but really it's just "aim at the splashdown and they die."
I do struggle to cancel splashdowns, but mostly because I main a roller and that means I have one shot and most of the time I'm not even in range for horizontal flick kill, it's also hard when they are close to you and before you flick at them they rise above you and you're in the endlag of the flick.
same but i play sploosh 7 so i just run away
it depends on the weapon, for example sloshers can do it easily and even on accident but for chargers itll be a lot harder, but you can practice with quicktime reactions in the training area. also if the person is in front of you, they will always be the same height, so you can try to practice to instinctively shoot at that height when someone does a splashdown (ofc every situation is different but if youre both on the same flat area it can help 😭)

I'm gonna be honest, I was in B rank like 5 or so months ago and I didn't find it that bad. It took a little bit to get through it in Tower Control initially but not that bad (heck I think I even managed to skip either B+ or A-), and then I went through it really quickly in Splat Zones and Rainmaker and it didn't take long at all. And I had a pretty good time too. Now I'm in the S+ ranks.
I'm still C- in Clams but that's because I've only ever played it 4 times because I have extremely me-specific reasons why I don't ever play it (and no, it's not because I think the mode is bad, on the contrary actually).
oh yea 2nd time was easy I think its just bc I did camp tc that map is hard to carry on in any rank
@@ProChara Oh yeah, definitely. While I personally like Camp TC because it requires quite a bit of quick-thinking precarious platforming above pits and I absolutely love platformers so it scratches a specific kind of itch I have, it is definitely not ideal for carrying and actually trying to rank up. That was probably the time with the least progress when I was in B-rank TC, because for like a couple weeks the rotation for TC whenever I played was always Camp and Blackbelly (also not great for Tower simply because you kinda get locked out if the other team gets the tower far enough into your area), for whatever reason those two kept getting paired together, and as much as I may like those stages individually, it was NOT ideal for trying to actually rank up in Tower.
i tend to avoid Clam Blitz too (it's my highest rank because I don't often lose it)
I looked at the thumbnail and immediately thought "ya like B rank?"

Yeah, Splashdown cancelling is basically not a thing in B-rank, practically no one can do it. Even in S-rank it's just not a thing people usually try because few can do it consistently.

I made a new account like a month ago. I didn't knew that if you don't lose while playing,you can jump Ranks way faster. From C- to X-Rank in 2 days(Splat Zones). Pretty happy about it.

welcome to the pain of being stuck in b rank. been here since I first passed c rank, and it's ALL pain.

Here’s what I think ranks are like: C is just rush to objective without anything else in mind, B is starting to get better, but still very hurried, A is when they really start having strategies, and S and more is when everyone strategizes and doesn’t run to mid without any thought whatsoever.

Unfortunately "not getting alot of help" happens ALOT in B and lower A rank.
I found that I usually have to be a support role in order to facilitate a win, bcs if not everyone charges in one by one and dies individually xc
It gets exponentially worse in Clam Blitz where you have to watch for footballs on the opposing team and support footballs on your own.
This is sutch a great Idea btw.

I'm so prone to falling off the map that I get really scared on maps where that's a really high possibility. New Albacore Hotel is my absolute nemesis. I have fallen into the water SO MANY TIMES on that map. To make matters worse, I'll try to super jump to other players and they're just on the platform where I need to jump from making it so much harder get to the other side because I have to back up and then jump.

I sometimes find harder 2100 X rank lobbies than 2500, im a 2400-2500 X rank and like 2100 are SO unpredictable alot of times
it’s because in the 2500 lobbies you usually have a top 500 guy with neo splash who drops like 25 and makes it super easy as opposed to 2100 where you’re the person who has to drop 25 to make it easy

B rank is getting ambushed by a roller before seeing them swim on top of the suction bomb you put down and them dying while your team is… somewhere.
And breaking and killing a Booyah Bomb but not knowing how to cancel a Splashdown (this is me specifically)

B rank was the sole reason why I picked up heavy remix because no one wants to play objective
