One of the most underrated Singer-songwriters of all time. No one can inject the total submersive atmosphere that Chris puts in his songs. A true great of Rock.

At 30 years old I still listen to this music and have loved it since I was 3 years old. I will never stop listening to this music. It has to do with the soul. Through my family.
I'm afraid real music has come and gone.. but who cares we can upgrade our phones, tablets and every other piece of technology we own every other week so we're sorted arn't we? Er... I think not! Passion for real music stopped when social media started, but at least technology let's us keep going back and listening and re-listening to those amazing tunes and great melodies 🙏😇❤️🔥🤘🎸🥁🎤
Chris is a wonderful talent although lately he’s been through hell with his health and is virtually unrecognisable from these great days. But thankfully he’s still with us and continuing to write great songs as this but he is now unrecognisable from these days and has to take medication by the truckload to keep him alive, , but god bless you Chris and all the best for the future mate.
have loved his raspy voice and guitar playing since i was 20- long time ago. he's so UNDERrated... but he's not an overly commercial sell-out so that adds to his appeal.

I just love Chris Rea's music. Hearing his songs, I always get the feeling to get up, get in a car and just driiiiiiive. The only problem though…, I don't have driver's license. Let alone a car.
His songs take me back to my childhood with my dad playing them in the car. So comforting to listen to his voice. Still sounds so good after all these years
I'm a trucker on a motorway ! a very apt song for the truckers, I'm a big chris rea fan he makes a lot of driving songs. and I like freezing Coca-Cola.
First heard his song "road to hell" and fell in love with it around 10 years back. 6 years back found " driving home for Christmas" and started playing even at non-Christmas season time. And nearly two year back opened the folder only to fall in love with few more of his songs and this is one of them. 32 years back the music was so clean and clear. Real playing and what a lovely voice. Trying it on my guitar now
aaaaaa the US, and the world of the 80s and 90s :) amazing feeling to listen to the song and understand the meaning once you know the original language
Sang this to my son when he was smal. I would lie on his chest and tell him how muvh i loved his heart and now i sing it to my dad who has late stage dementia i put my head on his chest and i hear his heartbeat and i know he still loves me. Thabk upu Chris rea for a beautiful song
This is the most beautiful comment I've ever read on here. It's brought a tear to my eye. I'm listening because it reminds me of my Dad driving us on holiday and around in the late 80's/early 90's when I was a kid. Sadly, I've lost touch with him for the last 10 years, and I would love to get back in touch with again because I've just had a Son of my own, and also because he's my Dad. Reading your message shows me how important it is to make it happen, and how special that relationship is. I know this is an old message, but I hope you and your Dad are doing ok. Thank you for writing this, it's the catalyst I needed to really make me try hard and find him again. Thank you 🙏

since the 80's I've always thought he came from America. Maybe because he sounds so American.

One of my all time favourites a real gem, it’s a real shame we don’t hear songs of this calibre any more .
Yes, now it’s all ‘Crap Rap’ where someone is hitting a symbol in the background whilst a chav is talking quickly about what he did last Wednesday.
