This was actually a pretty good year, my personal favourite was Slovenia. I think he atleast should have gone to the final. Greece was a great winner tho

8: Sweden 🇸🇪 (such a bop and a guilty pleasure. Charisma and actual talent is seen here.)
7: North Macedonia 🇲🇰 (such a guilty pleasure. A perfect mix of comedy and actual talent and a cute guy singing it.)
6: Cyprus 🇨🇾 (amazing song with slightly off vocals but still very groovy.)
5: Switzerland 🇨🇭 (great mood and lyrics, this is when Switzerland established they were a player in the genre of rock at ESC.)
4: Moldova 🇲🇩 (mix of comedy and actual talent. Love the Romanian and English seen here and it was a showstopper.)

I agree about Austria 🇦🇹, maybe the most underrated song of 2005.
2005 was a very very strong year at my opinion and I think that many songs were amazing and underrated! I am going to give you my personal Top 3 :
1. My winner 🥇 is Switzerland 🇨🇭 With Cool Vibes interpreted by Vanilla Ninja. It is just a song full of mystery ! When I listened to it I didn’t know what to say except wow !!! It is the rare type of song where you are speechless 😶! I just don’t know how does she feel and it is exactly what makes the song cool ! The fact that you can’t know if she is scared 😟 , still in love 🥰... you feel like dangerous vibes while you’re listening to this one !!! It is maybe why it is called cool vibes ! Because danger boosts adrenaline in you !!!! This is just an amazing 😉 song ! Underrated
2. My second place 🥈 is Albania 🇦🇱 . This song is great for many reasons ! First I love the traditional classic Balkan music 🎶!!!!! It is always satisfying and great to see cultural entries at Eurovision !! Also her voice is incredible !!!! She was like a mermaid 🧜♀️ singing at my opinion! Also her accent is pretty smooth and nice to listen to!
3. My third place 🥉: Serbia and Montenegro 🇲🇪 it is also lovely 😊 as Albania 🇦🇱 since it is traditional!!!! I am a big fan of traditional music 🎶 ! Especially that Serbo-Croatian is just a gorgeous language!!!! In this song I hear a bit of congratulations! Like if there was a war and when they won they sang this song to celebrate their victory !!!! It is amazing 😉 in my opinion! And I think it is a million time better then the Serbo-Montenegro entry of 2004!!! 2005 is their best entry !!!!!

I don't know why Vanilla Ninja (an Estonian band) decided to try and represent Switzerland instead of Estonia itself. We had such a shit song that year.

Aye, my prediction for your last was Austria actually. Wow. Well, many disagreements again, but a good Top anyway! And nice to get remembered about 2005 again, it was such a wonderful contest with a high music quality level.

Although Austria was not in my Final, also the people who will write hate comments think about it, it is interesting to see a strange taste and certainly more interesting!
I like Lucas and his videos. Sometimes he has strange opinions like Austria 2005 as his winner. But that makes his videos better and funnier.
Even if I don't agree, I give him a like in every video. Because I know it is a lot of work to make a video like this. And he has very underrated CZcams channel. He should've got a million subscribers at least.

ESC 2005 was a really good year. I would have loved for Chiara from Malta to win, but Helena from Greece is also very good, and Jakob Sveistrup is one of the best entries from Denmark. 💖

I remember feeling shocked when Netherlands 🇳🇱 and Slovenia 🇸🇮 didn't make the final. Definitely one of our, UK 🇬🇧 better songs in recent times but not reflected in the results. Glad we didn't send Jordan/Katie Price
Oh 2005! One of the strongest years ever! If not the strongest in terms of songs. Unfortunately, too many of the great songs had mediocre, bad or even horrible presentations. In the latest years I 'd say we usually get far weaker songs but far stronger presentations.
Here is my top39 of 2005 (judging songs & presentations):
1 NORWAY 9,5/10 epic!! Great glam rock, quite properly performed.
2 ISRAEL 9/10 this is how you make and present a classic ballad
3 SWITZERLAND 9/10 best song of the year, presentation slightly underwhelming
4 SLOVENIA 9/10 masterpiece of a song, presentation could be better
5 BELGIUM 9/10 beautiful melody, stunning voice, boring presentation
6 HUNGARY 9/10 well written and well presented ethnic
7 CROATIA 8,5/10 full on character, I love this Eurovision
8 GREECE 8,5/10 not my total cup of tea but interesting song and winner performer
9 SERBIA & MONTENEGRO 8/10 divine music, horrendous, hideous, disgusting presentation
10 ROMANIA 8/10 very cool song and presentation
11 MALTA 8/10 good classic ballad, big voice but dull presentation
12 LATVIA 8/10 good
13 ICELAND 7,5/10 some of it is lovely, some of it doesn’t work
14 UKRAINE 7,5/10 a bit messy and repetitive but still strong
15 FRANCE 7,5/10 enjoyable
16 ESTONIA 7,5/10 fun
17 GERMANY 7,5/10 it’s a vibe, I’m taking it
18 RUSSIA 7,5/10 kinda decent rock-ish
19 MONACO 7,5/10 not bad
20 FINLAND 7/10 I love the verses and the voice
21 MOLDOVA 7/10 I admit I liked this a bit more in the past but then I got annoyed by the band so the fun is partially lost

25 ANDORRA 6,5/10 beautiful dancers :p , kinda ok effort for ethnic
26 CYPRUS 6,5/10 catchy but a bit too cheap for my taste
27 UNITED KINGDOM 6,5/10 catchy music drop but overally messy, unflavoured and forced
28 DENMARK 6/10 ok verses but a bit annoying chorus and performer
29 BOSNIA-HERZEGOVINA 5,5/10 kinda decent musically but way too dull and forced
30 LITHUANIA 5,5/10 bit of a meh
31 BELARUS 5,5/10 music could be ok-ish but the package is cheap and annoying
32 POLAND 5,5/10 mixed feelings
33 TURKEY 5,5/10 could be ok ethnic but somehow annoys me
34 SWEDEN 5/10 handsome man, that’s all
35 NORTH MACEDONIA 5/10 nice elements but not enjoyable package

I feel like you underrate Hungary a lot but I also love Austria so much so I guess it evens out
Sweden was really underrated. One of the best songs of that year and one of the best swedish entries ever. It deserved top 3.
I was in the palace sportu stadium during the final and in the dress rehearsals of the semi, and sometimes during other scheduled rehearsals. In the venue, the entries which were impressive, beside tbe winning song(Helena's power dancing and singing was caltivating), were Norway, Switzerland and beliebe it or not Moldova. Ukrainians loved the moldovian entry, they went mad with it, they were clapping and singing, i m telling you, if the crowd in the venue had chosen tbe einber, then this would have been Moldova. Personally i enjoyed a lot Israel, i was fascinated by the song and the beautiful singer, i liked Spain a lot(but i think i was the only one in the venue), and i remember, although i was not crazy about Malta's balkad, Chiara had a very nice, illuminating stage oresence, she sang very beautifulky, i think she got the biggest applause of the locals and the foreigners in the crowd after Moldova. These were crazy times! I was so young back then and happy that Helena managed to win for Greece! Great ESC, msjor!

Quite overrated honestly, but Malta earned its place thanks to the way Chiara owned that stage all by herself.
With Belgium, I say he realy is a great singer. The song is just weak to me.

Portugal was a mess. It's an hard song to sing, the stage and dance was terrible and there was actually a lot of technical issues with the microphones and camera angles. It was a mess! The thing is that the singers are actually great (you can check on youtube)
As a portuguese I'm happy that at least we won the 2nd time in Kyiv xD
Belgium was so damn underrated in the semi :o

Bare in mind like most years it changes almost every run through and im not 'biased' towards my home country etc but if theres a song i loved as a 12/13 year old hearing them for the first time, even if other songs are better in hindsight theres that nostalgic love to them that cant be replicated
I love that everyone will habe different opinions on each song, as all acts deserve to have there fans
7:37 my opinion about UK is pretty same! But I'd put it way higher. Kinda a guilty pleasure but I listen to it sometimes.
Maybe I enjoy it because I am from Azerbai̇jan and were Turkic. Song has more turkic influences than UK's. 😂

So far I'm agreeing with you especially about Germany. I don't think it was a great year. The brief clip I heard actually made me quite like the Hungarian song but it's more I need to listen to this one more - the performance looked fun too. It's better than Belarus and Estonia and warbling nonsense that is Finland. I like Urkaine but I know that's a minority opinion. I agree with you about Spain - that song's quite fun. A real ballad musical analysis person put Moldova in their top hundred list so 😝 to you there. That said they also put France 69 in the list and I'm with you on that one. I love this but then again my liking for quirky, sometimes it has to said rather daft, entries is much higher than yours and it's got sort of punk, neo ska energy I like. I can appreciate that's not everyone.
