    A waterfall is something I've been wanting in a tank, I thought about sand and looked it up.. was SO glad to see so many others did this before me, can't lie, that saves me a fair bit of trial and error. XD

    2:24 of putting a narrowing device
    Ok, this is doing things by not knowing the reasons. The "restrict device" is actually an improvised Venturi tube.
    Checkout Venturi Tube, you will learn that you DON'T NEED to insert any restrict device, You just join a smaller pipe to the "sand intake tube".

    If you’re not familiar with Krylon Fusion make this the first project you use it on. Aquarium safe but no runs, sticks and stays uniformly, extremely durable and Lowes sells it. Yeah, I’m pitching it but only because I’m a crappy rattle can painter and all my projects look professional with the Fusion.

    • @karindachbauer3080
      @karindachbauer3080 Před 2 lety

      Did you try it totally submerged? Because if you tried it in your sink, with the risepipe out pof the water, the pressure of the water column will push the water out of the T.

    • @noisyboy1994
      @noisyboy1994 Před 4 lety

      either you need more waterflow, or you need lighter sand. me personally i dont use just sand, i buy a mixture of coral and white sand. its nearly completely white.... its lighter than the sand i previously had. keep in mind solid sand from your local pond is heavier

    • @ep3656
      @ep3656 Před 4 lety

      I am working through similar issue. I bought some blue sand on Amazon. Much of it wants to float. Trying pool filter sand is too heavy, but will rebuil with 1/2 inch plumbing instead of 1”. May need a longer and steeper angle at input.

    • @karindachbauer3080
      @karindachbauer3080 Před 2 lety

      O wonder! You have a leak in a pressured system, where water escapes. No sand will ever be sucked in. Think of it! Or make your waterfall only 1 inch high. Theres a reason they use airpamps.
