Just the blackface by Jimmy Fallon. That was INSANELY bad. Besides that... well, I thought they were all wickedly funny. If you don't like SNL, don't watch it. Cannot understand people hate watching anything. Find some other show and speak positively about it. Be happy your own way, but man, that show is funny and you just made me go back and watch all of them. SOOO funny!
Most of the Chris kattan stuff and the first season of Bowen yang sketches weren't ever funny and therefore quite offensive.
😂 people stop being so sensitive!!
You said tone deaf. Making fun of tone deaf people?
Leslie jones called jost a flat white privelaged latte. That sounds racist to me and as a white chic, it was funny as hell.
As a Christian, the Djesus Uncrossed skit was one of the funniest religious sketches I've ever seen.
You and me both. It was hilarious
Agreed
I hate people who get offended (easily). They're lame and have no sense of humor but if a joke or sketch is meant to offend, then the job was done. They fell for it, so we laugh at them for getting offended
SNL is still going so clearly the people who get offended probably don't even watch the show, meaning they learn about em through the internet or word of mouth
We live in a world now where literally anything you say can offend some idiot. Who gives a fuck who gets offended? That's their issue, not ours or anybody else
It's just doesn't fit with the character of Jesus, though. A revenge rampage does not sound like "Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing."
Personally, I like the last supper among us meme with Judas as the imposter.
And The cast of Djesus Will Surely have the ticket to Hell
Wow, the idea of Dwayne Johnson’s character inventing a child molesting robot was so disturbing that Rebecca didn’t even mention that in detail.
Thank you. Even if they said "We're not gonna discuss the nature of this sketch, but just trust us on this one" or something like that, it would have been more coherent. As is it is now, it looks like him having a robot is the offensive part. Makes zero sense.
too excited over the idea to even be able to speak about it
You think they could have insinuated it. Watch mojo is run by super-conservative prudes
@@assmane999 if that were true, why would they even mention that clip
@@assmane999 would be surprising since Mrs mojo has more than her fair share of finger wagging and snapping in z formation when it comes to rupauls drag race
The Evil invention sketch with The Rock was the funniest of all these sketches. I mean, he literally invented the most evil invention! Exactly what was asked of him! Hilarious!
i was under the impression that the fact that no one would have laughed if the genders were reversed in the teacher trail sketch is exactly the point.
could have been but whiny twitter gays will pretend to not understand and throw a temper tantrum for sympathy points and to virtue signal for something they are just too stupid to understand.
It's the same joke South Park did.
Yes. It’s the double standard inherent to those cases.
That's how I took it. It's a serious problem that does happen, but the women are almost instantly forgiven by just about everyone but the mother, and the boys are admired, which is in itself ridiculous.
We're getting a bit too woke when women are having misandrous things taken down, not because they are offensive to men, but because they would be offensive to women upon role reversal.
I say leave it and the tiger woods sketch alone. The satire perfectly illuminates men's plight in a world that's becoming increasingly more unfriendly to men.
The only people I think those skits offend are the ones who keep double standards, and truly believe women are above the baser instinctual urges of our species..... and men, who must all be animals, are not.
So people were upset that The World's Most Evil Machine...was the world's most evil machine?
This guy gets it
I watched a clip of people being offended by the seinfeld characters for being stupid and immoral as if that wasn't the entire point and why the last episode was so sweet.
Honestly, that twist in the video was honestly amazing as i had never expected two things in an "Evil Scientists Convention" :-
Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson with hair, and the robot actually being an evil invention!!
That really caught me off-guard, in a good way.
To me it didn't desensitise sexual abuse, it actually made it more impactful, as even a group of evil scientists wouldn't dare to go that far.
Love how as the years get closer, the "offenses" are easily triggered.
That was tame compared to what is online.
Not exactly. It's all the same.
I hate when people say ''Had the genders been reversed...'' Yeah! THAT'S the joke. They're comically pointing out how we have totally different standards for women than we do for men. As far as the molestation skit goes, it is very dark indeed but EXTREMELY funny.
Absolutely hilarious
I agree. In sharp relief, the satire shows how men's rights are dwindling in America.
I hate when people say "had the genders been revsersed" like women have a history of abusing, assaulting, and oppressing men
@SparrowHunter europeans have a history of enslaving other races. Africa has a history of civil war. It's history, we live in the now. You want fugging recompense or something?
@@sparrowhunter1671 Amber Heard
Wait "D**k in a box" and the subsequent songs JT and Lonely Island made are probably the funniest sketches SNL ever aired!
They’re not claiming these are bad skits. Just that they caused great amounts of controversy. People are always going to be offended and it’s silly most of the time
Natalie Portman rap was definitely the most hilarious one, its surprisingly funnier in the censored funny
Funny how Ashley Simpson’s career was over after this error, and now lip syncing is 100% percent commonplace in the pop world. Dua Lipa drops her microphone for 60 seconds in concert and the vocal still plays through, and nobody cares, and cheer her when she picks up the mike. She’s a real talent.
Shows how pathetic pop is. The problem is these women are called "artists". Also, Ashley never paid her dues so that made people despise her even more.
I mean, I went to a concert last week and the lead singer stopped singing in the middle of the song, but it was during the chorus of a few of their most famous songs, and he was holding his mic out so we sang along.
@@jonmendelson1104 That has NOTHING to do with lip syncing.
So she lip syncs but she's a "real talent"??......wrong kid, if she's lip syncing then she's the total opposite of a "real talent".
@@lovefist86 Exactly and not only that but this Dua Lipa was lip syncing and this guy calls that "real talent". The fact that the pop fans are accepting of the lip syncing is another big problem in music. So they apparently have no issue with paying ridiculous prices to go to a pop concert just to listen to the album being played.
It's funnier to me when the people that call others "sensitive little snowflakes" are the ones that get the maddest when they're made fun of.
Truth
The religious right
I call a lot of people "sensitive snowflakes". I call the woke fools a lot more than that because its pathetic and I don't get mad about anything. If someone makes fun of me I certainly don't take it to heart, it doesn't bother me the least bit. Why would I care what others think especially the woke, cancel culture, crybaby cupcakes.
@@lovefist86 there are many religious people that are quite lovely. It's radical narcissists that are the problem.
Not everyone. Some, yes.
That Adrian Brodey thing was just introducing a song and , Ashley Simpson lip synking were both not skits.
I don't think musical guest performances and introductions count as "skits" but I guess WatchMojo just needed to fill the 23 moments quota lol
Lmao you got that right she was a musical guest, she don't qualify.
And _introducing_ a musical guest definitely isn’t a skit.
That must mean their weren't any controversial skits those years but they needed to fill out the list lol
They should have just titled it: most controversial SNL moments
@@assmane999 You're right about changing the title. It makes more sense.
Let's be honest - it might have been Controversial but Roy definately wins the most evil invention contest.
Idk. The one with the rock was one of the funniest skits to me. Probably because i love dark humor
Dark humor is like food, not everybody gets it
As far as I can tell Fred Armisen wasn’t using blackface. He just did an impersonation of a president who happened to be african american. Armisen also did an impression of President Ahmadinejad. So why wouldn’t this "fly today for obvious reasons?"
D in a Box and Djesus Uncrossed were classics.
The “Africa” Tourism skit - HILARIOUS!!! Never even heard about that skit until now; and I’m black and took no offense. Swear when she said the 3 white ladies with the same name, it took me like 5 min to realize all their names were “KAREN”!!! 😂😂😂 What’s even funnier is this is REALLY a thing!! I was watching a VICE special where they say there’s some small village in Africa where it’s a myth that the tribal men know how to “get it in” and are hung like ...🍆! All you saw in the footage were middle aged, bad built, divorcée rich white women lookin like a bunch of CREEPS! 😂😂 Pretty insulting to the men they left to go chase 🏃 💨 😂😂
I watched every one of these when they aired and laughed at all of them.
Liar. You didn't laugh at the Adrien Brody and Steven Segall ones
@@SuperPeterok actually I did because of how bad they were.
Djesus Uncrossed is hilarious 😂
Only a few of these are actually out of pocket. Most are hilarious
agreed 😂
Comedy is almost NEVER out of pocket. Certainly none of these skits were. It would have to be intenionally and overtly harmful with no satire to be out of pocket.
Heroin AM skit was funny AF
Idk if it's because I'm getting older, but I just roll my eyes when people get offended. I could never imagine writing a letter to NBC because of jokes, that sounds embarrassing!
Ppl now have zero backbone to deal with daily life, or spoofs, or comedy, eating meat, jokes about ANYTHING. That type of attitude absolutely DRAINS everything from people who live normal lives. No fun, no jokes, no anything because THEY say so
This list is proof that humanity can no longer laugh at themselves. So sad😥
i kinda think it's proof of how far we've come as a society. the most controversial sketch 20 years ago was literally a white comedian in blackface, and the most controversial sketch this year was... bed poop.
The Tim Tebow & Tiger Woods Sketches Are Classic I Watched Both Live😂😂😂
Please do the rest of the years from 1975 on.
The first one was 2 decades way too late to be outraged when the clip was resurfaced and Tyler Perry defended them by saying it was an impression, not black face.
Edit: As for the Gen Z hospital sketch Gen Z TikTokers were the ones appropriating the slang in the first place, so it doesn't make sense to blame SNL.
Oh God leave gen z alone, their parents were fucking nightmares with narcissistic tendencies violent tempers and drug addiction......the greatest generation raised the most fucked up generation.....kinda makes you wonder how they're so great if they failed their children at such high volumes
Teacher Trial is one the reasons I love Pete Davidson, and if it weren’t for it, my best friend and I wouldn’t be calling each other the hilarious nicknames Pete gets by his school peers
It was funny. Some just take made up scenes and act like it's real , then become upset. I mean really, in what world would Cecilie's character behave that way either. I showed friends that sketch it was so funny. I also enjoy Pete's character Chad.
People are too damn sensitive. That's all this list tells me.
duh
Should be labeled as "most controversial SNL moments" if you're gonna go three straight years w/o a skit
Please tell me they included the Halloween skit with the sex offender trying to get signatures from the neighbors to move into the neighborhood
Is it weird I found Armisen’s “NEW JERSEY!!!!” hilarious?
The Bambi 2002 aminated cartoon was great for me as a kid as it was a per summation of the terrible straight to VHS dished out. Then the best pne was Disney's journey to Disney vault where I learned as a kid that Walt Disney was an anti-smemite.
anti-smemite???
I am 61 now, but have enjoyed this since I was a kid in the 70's, controversies or not. Sometimes it's laughing, or not surviving shit, that simple & how many use 'dark' comedy to get thru bad times.🌈☮️🇨🇦
This is a list of pretty much all the good stuff.
all I see is a comedy gold mine
I still find D'jesus uncrossed pretty funny.
If they made fun of Islam they'd be killed
Same ✝
No, these are some of the funniest sketches ever.
Is there one of these for 1975 to 1999? I'd love to see that
No. For Watch Mojo world didn't exist before 2000.
@@lechkropa5105 no, but SNL did.
I really loved the Bambi 2002 skit! Saturday Night Live needs to bring back TV Funhouse!
For music, if a person does not like a particular song or songs, then don’t listen to them then! Listen to something else!
“Dad it’s just ISIS.” Iconic
Idc Dixk In A Box was HILARIOUS!!!! 😭😭😭
I love how NBC's attorneys finding that NBC did nothing wrong
I found all the skits pretty funny. Just comes to show how we’ve slid down this slippery slope.
*Nothing on the "Rosetta Stone ad?" I'm quite surprised, as it's been on some of your lists in the past.*
System of a Down really fucked with them XD. Bold move Daron Malakian. I respect it.
Christoph waltz as a German Jesus. That’s perfect.
God! I love System of a Down!! I’ve been binging on the album “steal this album” for the past couple weeks. I suggest any Soad fans to revisit that wonderful 2002 album.
Djesus uncrossed was brilliant.
Hey WatchMojo I would like to see a top 23 SnL character brakes.
I think it's getting harder to crack jokes without offending at least a handful of people. Comedy is about taking risks; may not always land, but you gotta take risks
Some people just can't take a joke
After an internal investigation NBCs attorneys found that NBC did nothing wrong…. Lmao
Controversial? Sense of Humour bypasses, by the sounds of it. That Rousey Teachers sketch - all teen lads would wanna do their hot Teachers, that hasn't changed
Teen lads want many things, but that doesn't mean that those things are funny when done. Besides, will all laugh if instead of Rousey there was some good-looking male teacher and some teenage girl? Somehow that is not so funny?
It was a "Chris Rock joke". Like for real I wish everyone past and present would stop allowing shitty things to be justified by saying it was a damn joke. Literally in the ball park of "It was a G.I. Jane joke". Not saying the same cause blackface. I do have to say as well that I doubt Jimmy was doing it with malicious intent in mind. But still either way you slice it was just a Chris Rock joke.
watchmojo leans so hard on that Ashlee Simpson thing!!! i see that on every SNL list GOODNESS!
Early 2000’s comedy. My things have changed! 😂
And the moral of this video: LIFE IS SHORT! And you live much longer finding the humor in everything, finding the humor within yourself, and how it takes too much energy being “offended” and mad over BULLSHIT! Plus smiling and laughing keeps the wrinkles off your face!!! People need to know how to take a joke! Why so serious (in my Joker voice???’ 😂😂
Excellent list but since they just finished Season 47 it would be great if you could do all seasons. Blame Lorne Michaels for the blackface performances, not the comedians❤️
Lorne doesn't write the jokes.. At most, he approves things like who the guest should be and overrides decisions that goes too far. The jokes and skits are primarily done by the writing staff in coordination with the comedians and the guest of that week. He's literally one of the last people to get on board and it's still 100% the comedian's for agreeing to it, especially an impression. You don't tell someone to do an impression, they tell you they know how and ask to do it. Fallon wasn't forced to do Chris Rock, he literally raised his hand and said "You know what would be funny? If I went up there in blackface and did Chris Rock. Crazy, right? I'm totally up for it. I really hope you can put it in."
@@sws212 he PRODUCES the show and he is ultimately responsible for everything that happens with the show. When A TV show wins the EMMY for ‘best’ the producer gets the award. When a movie wins the Oscar for best picture, the award goes to the PRODUCERS
@@sws212 I don’t think you understand the role of the producer. It’s HIS show. He is ultimately responsible for all of it.
@@batgurrl Okay? Responsibility for his show doesn't mean you completely shift blame for grown adults to him. I couldn't care less about the incident but it's moronic that you justify it by blaming the people in charge and blame zero blame on the actual people who suggested the idea. Fallon did it voluntarily, he 100% suggested the idea. I don't blame David Duke for being the KKK, I blame the ENTIRE KKK.
If people get angry about satiric sketches like those, I can't imagine what they would do if they watch the stuff I like
What is you like? I'm asking because I probably like the same things.
What is the stuff you like, I mean
Crenshaw wasn’t actually offended. He saw an opportunity to gain political points at a crucial time and played it for all it was worth.
Nice video, Love your great channel, Keep up the awesome work
To make funny skits like these, you sometimes have to make controversial choices. That’s how comedy works. If you happen to find a comedic skit to be unfunny and insensitive, that’s too bad for you. Get over it and move on with your life.
💯 eggshells don't go in people's feet
Yeah it’s a fact: humor and comedy always offend someone or something like a rock for God’s sake
"Meet your second wife" It pushes the boundry so far, I feel bad laughing at it.
Everyone of these is gold. America should stop whining. Literally people starving and we bitch about the levels of freedom we are given and feelings getting hurt.
chris rock really out here with the naruto fit
Yeah The villians in the rock sketch was like "yeah i think we villians we know he went too far"
Everyone of these perfect just the way it is.
all is fair in comedy. no matter how bad or how great it is.
all them sketches was fireeeeeee
SNL has way too much content on the internet. And people didn't like the controversial fake ads afterwards.
Lonely Island absolutely kicks everything they do!!!
This is SNL being SNL. Anytime one watches it don't wear your feelings on your sleeve.
okay y'all released this about 3 months too early because last night's try guys skit (which was OBVIOUSLY written by one of ned's few remaining buddies) is definitely going to go down as the most controversial, if not outright the most offensive and unpopular, skit of 2022. holy jesus did they take the wrong tack on that one.
Tv fun house was Soo good
Given the BS that Jesus is either American and/or Republican, that Tarantino thing isn't too far off.
I don't care for parodies of religions and religious figures, I am not religious, but if you make a joke about Djesus, then be brave enough and make some joke about Mohamed and other figures.
@@ozymandiasultor9480 South Park did.
@@lisakaz35 In South Park they covered him, they were afraid to draw Mo, because they were afraid of what will Muslims do if they see their top man drawn... Maybe they showed his in some early episode, I don't remember.
@@ozymandiasultor9480 That became a gag, too.
@@lisakaz35 Yes, I remember, I mean, I wasn't watching South Park for a long time, and remember just fragments of those episodes, but I know what you mean. Here in Europe France made the right step, after that massacre that Islamists did in Chalie Hebdo, France decided to publish those caricatures of Mo again, as expected Muslims were enraged, in Muslim countries many were protesting, shouting, were saying that they will do those typical things to unbelievers that do not respect their ideology, but they forget that for us something as holy and worth respecting is freedom of speech and expression, everyone can be subject of critique and satire, and their Mo too... All European states are strictly secular (except Greece) and we do not look toward religions as something that by default has to be respected and can't be the subject of critique and satire.
Y'all gotta chill. This stuff is pretty funny. Cmon, the fact that you're mad kinda proves that there's bigger things to worry about in real life.
The only thing offensive about Gen Z Hospital sketch is PAINFULLY UNFUNNY it was
Dave chappelle's 2022 monologue is controversial.
That one with the rock was hilarious
Video idea: Top 10 Banned Skits
Wtf I had no idea Jimmy Fallon did black face omfg
funny, my buddies and I said that the library is our favorite level
These were some of the funniest skits.
“AAVE TO THE MOON” …a little bit of a overkill dont u think? 😂😭
Anything you do is going to offend somebody
Any one who ever got offended by comedy just needs to spend their energy on something important
The sketch of johnny and amberturd was very controversial, they really try to make johhny look¨s like a jerk.
Because he is lol. Both them are abusers. Even the jurors said so. Drop has literally assaulted numerous people in his career and had his bodyguards assault others too. Depp has always been a complete and total asshole.
why are these some of my favorites? I mean, is real life events are much more offensive. at least they make it funny....sometimes. the war party is obviously a take on how we love war here in the states. at least this makes me laugh. the things our country regularly does makes me cry. it's like the "it's funny bc it's true" but also it's offensive bc it's true paradox
I gotta look up Djesus. It looks hilarious.
All these are hilarious to anyone outside of America.
I thought this was about skits not music or hosts?
It’s interesting that that Shark Tank sketch (from the Chris Rock/Prince episode) was highlighted, when the entire episode was terrible (the monologue was funny though). Speaking of Rock though, I find it interesting that people berated Jimmy Fallon for wearing blackface to portray him while no one ever seems to say anything about Darrell Hammond wearing blackface to portray Jesse Jackson (on more than one occasion).
The toyota ad parody was funny.
Guys you forgot the parenthesis
Some of these listings aren't even skits.
Yep.
Top 20 Best CZcamsr Memes
Oh for crying out loud! These were some of the funniest sketches of all time (except for JF's blackface!) Again, people who do not understand sketch comedy should not watch sketch comedy. Those who don't think something on TV, CZcams, or any other platform is funny... DON'T WATCH! It's like people don't realize they can hit one button and change what they are watching. This made me laugh so hard... Tiger Woods, Sam L., D in a box, the Isis and JC stuff, and especially the evil villains were hysterical (the Rock?! come on!) Lighten up, America. Laughter is the best medicine, not censorship.
Stopped the video just to go watch djesus uncrossed. So glad I did.
Why does it say 2000 22?
Bc they started with videos from 2000 till 2022
