Same problem with all dictatorial armies, if superiors don't give commands they can't think for themselves.
at least dave saw the "non-firing" part faster than getting the flasher joke in the other video
That flasher joke was bad and dumb anyways so I don’t even blame Dave
@@WaterKingCrocodoan finding it funny is one thing, not getting it is another
If China fights with US military, they will lose badly because US doesn't need size only need is where are they
They're still very risk averse. They almost never launch sorties from a carrier at night and almost never at a distance too far from a diversion airport. Their sortie rate is a tiny fraction of an American carrier's sortie rate.
I like these kinds of reactions. Always learning something. More of this too!
You fellows always do good work. I like the fact that you cover serious topics and comedy. Cheers from Missouri. Plus I guess the President likes you also because he recently stated, "God save the Queen," at the end of a speech. Course, more likely he just doesn't know what he's doing but eh. 😅😃
Dave literally watches 10 minutes of video explaining China's stake in local oil. Next question: "Why be there?" WTF, are you actually watching the video? 😂
Not first, by a long shot. They invaded Vietnam in 1979, just a few years after the US left, and got their asses handed to them. They lost thousands of troops in a matter of weeks. But still first in a long time, and first involving their modern force structure. I would hesitate to call the Sudan thing significant though, given the complexity of a peacekeeping environment.
You friggin nerd. Thanks, bro.
It’s weird trees speak Vietnamese there🤔
@@SilentXtract wut?
@@dudermcdudeface3674 talking about the VC guerrilla tactics lol
@@SilentXtract Ah. Makes sense. VC were mad capable by then. They also defeated the Khmer Rouge.
Fk the rules of engagement, if they're shooting at me I'm shooting back
Exactly in that situation you gotta put your life over ROE or policy
8:02 Dave Its the EFF singing that song.. not ANC
Its a smaller political party making about 7%.
I bet GG Ping is one hell of a golfer ⛳
I'm gonna have to ask what the UN expected when you had a team made up of China Nepal and India.
Did they honestly expect everyone to hold hands, play paddy cake, and have a unified command here?
It is a very old technique for developing comraderie.
There is a good chance that, when you rely on someone in a potentially life threatening situation, you develop close bonds.
But it is a gamble.
Apparently you didn't listen to the video. No one blames the Chinese, the Chinese were in the middle of a war between 2 militaries and didn't have to respond. They were supposed to protect the civilians of which they did, 9000 of them. If the west was involved it would have been a mess, the west would have bombed both militaries and the civilians and called it collateral damage. The Chinese didn't want to end up killing civilians, that is why they retreated and only protected the UN compound. Half the civilians would have died if the west was involved. China is far better at this than trigger happy westerners who call civilian deaths "collateral damage." I applaud the Chinese.
One more thing, China acts within the UN, westerners act outside the UN unilaterally. UN peacekeepers are defensive, western soldiers are mass murdering aggressors. UN peacekeepers are poorly armed, western soldiers are heavily armed mass murderers.
@@Moabi4 the chinese are so good at protecting civilians they totally didnt kill 50 million of their own citizens in their so called cultural revolution and "Great" leap forward

I’m so glad you found Task and Purpose. Such a great channel. ❤️
Task & Purpose & Office Blokes!!
Two of my favorite channels!
The prominent "Non-firing replica" is because CZcams once demonetized the channel ("Task and Purpose") for selling "guns".
Also, I'm glad to see you reacting to this channel which is one of the best on military matters. Do Brits use the expression on Chris's tee-shirt, FUBAR = "F"d Up Beyond All Recognition?
The Chinese joing the U.N. forces is like them joining their former enemies. I mean, they did get there asses handed over to them in the Korean War. The used human waves tactics and cannon fodder, that U.S. forces literally ran out of ammunition and resources staking their bodies up high that they had to retreat. And China acting like it's some show of their strength and some "Great Victory" in battle. Please.
Trust me, if the U.S. had invaded North Vietnam during the Vietnamese War, China would have definitely joined like they did in Korean War. But the U.S. would of have no problem making the death toll in the couple millions for the Chinese, although they too would have suffered a great death toll on par with WW2, which nobody would have wanted in the first place.
The ANC government didn’t sing “Kill The Boer” song. It was Julius Malema who’s not ANC.
Please be careful with misinformation.
The video is talking about south Sudan but has lots of footage from Sudan (Arab north)
Can't wait to see Office Blokes Try Looting 😂
That situation was a complete cluster f*ck.
16:58 No one is laying down their weapons to go hide, wtf are you smoking lol
Wow another comment from aj about Dave….. he needs to make sure his security is up because you’d jump thru his bathroom window just to sniff him like the lgbt man u are
Look at Dave with that cool ass chug shirt!! 😮
It is interesting to see you guys touch on politics.
Unlike political channels, i dont think you've got an undue interest in partisanship so i feel it is a more honest take.
Thank you
One of the big issues with the huge raid on the warehouse is it lets the offending party insulate themselves from subsequent sanctions and cutting off of aid.
I don't think I'll be visiting there anytime soon. Neither Niger, thanks. That pic of the "soldiers" reminds me of the scenes in the film, "Lord of War," when the arms dealer goes to Africa amidst all the civil wars and poverty. It paints a vivid picture.
Amazing how they brag saying "It could have been worse". Just some lie for a 100% win view in their civilians eyes back home.
outnumbered, outgunned with tanks, underequipped chinese "foot" UN soldiers still managed to rescue 9000 civilians, not bad at all
Glad you found task & purpose. Now time for Sandboxx
Lol Dave and the goat guns
Losing 2 soldiers out of around 800 while completely failing to perform your mission doesn't strike me as the "hard fighting " the narrator credited them with doing .
task and purpose is ok. but he has a lot of flaws in so many videos. hes ok but not as good as people think.
keep doing more task and purpose good content
Money, Dave, it is all about money.
From reading and listening to testimonies of UN peacekeepers from other countries, I can see that this kind of situation is not new and unique. The UN has had a horrible track record of enforcing their peacekeeping missions in different countries. People can have their opinions about the Chinese government and their interests in foreign countries. But we should not discredit tye actions of the peacekeepers who had their first baptism by blood after decades of no experience. Every country will suffer a defeat once in awhile. The job of future generations is to learn from these mistakes and not repeat them in the future.
The most important job of the UN there or Somalia is to ensure humanitarian aid gets to its destination.
Another one of Dave's great stories of something he thinks he watched that was about something.
On Oct .23, 1983 , 2 days before my 20th. birthday . Me and other American and French Marines were in Beirut to oversee the Palestinian withdrawal from Lebanon . That day 241 American and 299 French Marines were killed when a suicide truck bomber with an estimated amount of explosives equaling 20,000 lbs. was driven into the US Marine barrack . Can't remember the amount of explosives that were used on the French barrack . Probably the same amount that was used on the US barrack . We were there as a policing force . So no one was allowed to chamber any ammunition . So the truck just drove through the entrance and right into our barrack building ! That day is always in my mind , Oct.23 , the day of the bombing ,my birthday Oct. 25th.. Labor Day , the first Mon. in Sept , V-J day , Sept.2nd. and Patriot Day , Sept 11th really makes Sept. and Oct . 2 months that are hard to deal with ! Also many other significant dates that are around those months . The bombing and loss of life on Oct. 23,1983 is not mentioned much . But it is the second largest amount of US Marines killed in one day next to Iwo Jima !!
Wow I’ve never heard of this and I like US military history and declassified operations that’s fucking crazy I’m gonna look into this. Oh and my brothers birthday is October 25
@@jerellebowens4367Well, besides being young, you never heard of this because the Grenada invasion happened 2 days later and completely overshadowed it.
Thank you for your service!
Objection... Relevancy.
@@DashRiprock513 LOL! The Marines in '83 were killed on a UN peace keeping mission, similar to the one described in the video.
If China was defending it’s own homeland their performance might be different. A lot of people aren’t going to risk their lives for someone else.
China is not Russia and nato and the United States should seek diplomatic resolution with China ALWAYS.
You no the funny thing is we are all connected but yet we are not. Sow you're telling me Chin wants to keep to it self but if they do they are doomed to fail.

The African leader with the cowboy hat got it as a gift from George W Bush.
And they supposed to beat the USA???🤣🤣🤣
The US lost at Iraq, Afghanistan and Vietnam. All of them are 3rd World countries and you think that the US would win against a 1st word country?
Well done on not posting another "Karen" video.
And say what you want about the un but i rather have a un then not have it.
I was already impressed by the Chinese soldiers, how they hit Indian troops.... With long sticks.
I think you got that backwards
The Indians and Chinese both agreed to sort out their Border disputes with Sticks and Stones so it doesn't escalate into something bigger (and its not only the chinese that use ,,long sticks''
Sooo...from a veterans perspective...UN missions are a failure from the start because you are using soldiers to act as police officers in warzones. Ignore the political bullshit because every UN semi-circle of suits will blame the soldiers for being dis-armed to police level (that could have well been a light, anti-tank infantry unit but the UN imposes rules about aggression and use of force that work for policing in peaceful society but, DO NOT APPLY IN THE RULES OF WAR). They could have well defended against tanks but they were reduced to police. The were 100% told by the half-ring to NOT be soldiers...yet in warzone...where the opponent is in war...don't "war" back. Ireland, China (China has now lost soldiers for and against the UN...wrap your ramen noodle around that one), U.S., repeatedly...find a country who has not donated soldiers to the UN peacekeeping ideals to be wasted for nothing.
Gonna say this and probably gonna get hate for it, but we all know it's true. The reason Chinese UN troops lost that conflict was because there wasn't a pay-to-win option. They couldn't find anywhere to throw their yuan at to get instant exp boosts and level 3000 champions to wipe the field for them. Suddenly they realized that throwing money at problems doesn't always work and they became appalled at the idea the the game of reality didn't let them buy an advantage or censor itself to their standards.
But on another note, it's actually hilarious that at some point Cappy (the guy presenting over on Task and Purpose) had to include the fact that Goat Guns don't actually fire. I'm sure both him and Goat Guns got a hot steaming pile of REEEEEE's from uneducated bellends claiming they were selling firearms on youtube. . . . .And we all learn another reason why we as a species cannot have anything nice.
What? No in game purchases can be made? Impossible, Sony needs more money.
