    • @JessDangDIY
      @JessDangDIY  Před 3 lety

      I'll try to write it down. But it just for my size. So I prefer you go along with my instruction for each step to adjust for your body size. Yes, if you make the top only, it'll be just shorter. And a tip from my opinion for the top, make it a little bigger. So you will wear it easily and it also looks more elegant

    Love it 😍, very simple, classy and elegant and it complements your figure and suits you beautifully. Thanks for the vid, brilliant as always, so love your vids, ideas, instructions and sense of style! ❤️ However that neckline and straps kinda beg for a braless performance, so it suits a cocktail more than dancing wedding party more i think, especially if you like to jump like I do 😅😉. Why do I need +10cm for the horizontal measurement(1/2hips + 10cm)? I was wondering if I can make that less (ex. 5cm) cuz I'm working with a pre-cut fabric from another project and I don't have enough material :(
    Btw love ur video so much, it is so clear and comprehensive, keep up the good work 👍🏻👍🏻

    • @JessDangDIY
      @JessDangDIY  Před 4 lety +3

      Because you will have a have a little space for your dress when wearing. And it won't be too tight to your body. Beside that, 10 cm is included 1cm of the seam allowance already. That mean total seam allowance will be 4cm

    Why do you recommend triangle shape vs. some sort of a curve?
    I’m just curious what the pros and cons of triangle darts are

      Sorry I don't really get what you mean

    • @hannahm.3606
      @hannahm.3606 Před 2 lety

      cutting on bias will help make the fabric drape better. if it is cut straight, the cowl neck portion will just kind of flop to one side of other. But it will look much better and more flowy on bias

    • @abigailli9198
      @abigailli9198 Před 4 lety +1

      Michy Tan I have little experience with sewing cowl necks but based on what I can imagine, I think either shorten the length of the additional folded fabric (20 cm) meant for the cowl, it’ll help with the weight of pulling the neckline down. Or if you like the way it folds, probably elongate the length before the bust measurement (the video uses 12 cm for that) which naturally will create a longer piece of fabric for the chest.
