- I traveled to Prague in the Czech Republic for the global social media award. My second trip to Prague, the first one was about 10 years ago, and I was only in the city for about 2 hours. This time I was able to try some of the food, and it all starts with an INCREDIBLY burger from a butcher shop. Also visited the local Mcdonalds which was pretty much a disappointment.

I tried the butcher shop when I went there too. The staff were so nice and gave me a free burger when I went in the morning. I lived in the air bnb apartment right above the butcher shop. would recommend 100%
What's the name of the butcher shop, please? I only saw the poster for Sisters Bistro, but I don't think this is where Mikey ate the ribs and steak. Thanks!!
Siegfried Quemado the steak is in the butcher shop as you can select your own meat beside the cashier (to the right of the cashier) then after you pick your meat you pay for it and ask for them to cook it . Pretty sure Mike just ate it outside of the shop as there was not much space inside

Tip to always get fresh parties, order your burger without salt. Forces them to cook a fresh patty everytime for you

mikey, when visiting a McDs always ask for a burger made fresh or ask them to leave one of the toppings off of it or ask for extra sauce/tomato. they have to make it from scratch then and not just give you something that’s been sitting in a heated cabinet for 10-20 mins. no matter what it is, whether it a chicken burger or a beef one always do this. looked like you were given ones that have been sitting around for a while waiting for a lunch rush. my niece used to work in their kitchens and since then she’d never buy anything unless it’s freshly made. just saying.....

You need to eat the traditional Czech food. Maslo a koprova, etc. REAL soul-satisfying food. And the Czech sauces blow the French away!
I agree with you that he should try some traditional czech food.. But maslo (butter)? Why would he try that? :D Also koprovka is like 50:50, you either love it or hate it. Definitely not a first thing I would recommend to try here, although I myslef quite like it. Maybe fried cheese, roasted pork knuckles, svíčková or some others.

It's pretty much a russian roulette with asian food here. There are a few outstanding places and the rest is very sub par.
I love iced tea and lemonade but so many places don’t serve it year round. One waitress said people don’t want cold things in the winter. I asked her if they put ice in the soda and mentioned the ice in the water. And that they served ice cream for dessert in the winter. Yes to all. She was squirming when I said why would cold soda be okay but not iced tea.

Naah, you must try some typical meal like Svíčková or Knedlo, vepřo, zelo. McDonald's in Czech isn't that good, because everyone rather go to the restaurant on good Czech meal. And specially, if you want something good for drink, try our Beer of non alcoholic Kofola. 😉

I think this is the first time when Mikey was so unsatisfied with food on the plane. He’s always like “it’s sooo goood omg” or just “mm yeah it’s ok”. And this is the best airline in Russia, just imagine how bad other airlines are in Russia, especially in economy class.

I flew cattle-class on Aerofop from the US to Moscow many years ago. The plane vibrated so much and so bad that it felt like it was going to disintegrate in mid-air. The best thing about flying the cheap seats was meeting the Russians that were going home and passing the vodka...lol I took a 2 week river cruise from Moscow to St. Pete. It was awesome! Highly recommend it if someone is looking for a great vacation that doesn't cost an arm and a leg.

Nice to see you finally got to see how McDonalds normally is in Europe. I mean seriously, barely anyone goes there anymore here due to cardboard Burgers, they're pretty infamous for it. Burger King is known for tasting of charr and nothing else. Luckily we have some local chains with nice juicy Burgers, so we get by. But the quality of both those chains is WAY higher in other countries.

I've flown aeroflot economy. It was a terrible experience. Got yelled at in Russian by the air hostess multiple time. A group of around 11 of us flew in and 6 of had our luggage lost.
And I usually enjoy economy food in most flights. Aeroflot is one of the 2 flights where I couldnt finish a meal.

@@wawawho18 Actually I do. I just don't like fast food chains. McDonalds, Burger King, Wendys, etc. At least in the US. Popeyes is the only fast food I'll eat, and thats a cheat meal once a month.

Not sure what over-aged steak would be in your book. I just made a 59 day aged rib steak. As it came to temp on the counter the entire kitchen was filled with a beefy aroma that you just can't get with lesser aged steaks. I was a little worried it would be a bit too funky for me but oh man. Tender, beefy but not too over the top. Incredible. At the price can't eat that every day.

For anyone wondering what the butcher shop is, it's called Nase Maso. The best meat you can get in Prague.

Hello from Prague! That meat place is awesome, love their restaurants. As for the McDonalds: it is just seasonal offer and it sucks. I don't know why but in the last year or so all the burgers in the McDonald's here in the Czech Republic got super dry. :(

I was hoping you would come to Prague one day and try some of our food.. Even though you had some bad experiences, I think there is a lot of food you would like. Czech cuisine is based a lot on sauces and pork, we have some amazing ones. If you ever visit Prague again, try food like Roasted pork knuckle, svíčková, fried cheese, duck and many others. If you want, you can hit me up when you come to Prague, there are a lot of good places to eat traditional czech food and I am sure you would love it. Enjoy the rest of the day :)

I've only worked at a mcdonalds in canada but they are supposed to be known for there customization possibilities. If you see this the next time you order request it to be fresh and they will cook your meat when you order. It will take longer but atleast it wont be dry.
