"Being a little black girl in America is like being raised in a house where you don't see your pictures on the wall" that's deep and no truer words have been said. ‼️💯💯
A lot of black women wear wigs and extensions to feel “glam” so Ofcourse these little girls will not see their natural hair as a sign of beauty. It starts in the home, if there’s no healthy hair representation in the house, they won’t find theirs as beautiful either. Middle schoolers/high schoolers already rocking their lace wigs
Beautiful Adanna ,I went natural 2 years ago and I swear I almost relaxed my hair because I didn't know how to maintain it, was tired of wearing wigs and then I just became committed to making it work and wow it's working 😅daily motivated by your creativity
I'm in this boat now. I'm just starting and my hair is so hard and looks unkempt no matter how I try to comb it. Unfortunately I also don't have the money to get the necessary tools and creams to make it softer and everything going out is just a hurdle 😢😢😥I really wanna relax it and be free
@@CJ-yh6pk great question. On wash day or the day before, I take a water bottle. Add 3 to 4 drops of conditioner into water (depending on how much water you are using). I spray each section of hair, finger detangle and seperate the strands first, then run a medium tooth comb through to make sure there are no knots. Pull out any shed hairs. Then wash. This has helped me greatly. Also be very careful when shampooing. Massage the scalp gently. do not massage in circular motion. Do not rake the shampoo through your strands to prevent causing the strands to get tangles. Hope this helps.

This audio used is evoking so many feelings right now! After texturizing my hair it got so damaged and brittle, nursing it back to life was the most challenging thing - took years! 😩 Loved how your hair turned out, I'll be trying this style. 😍
Having a pearl since I was 16 and now I'm in my late fifties I'm learning to embrace my 4C natural hair, I think I have a good regiment going it's been 2 months I've been doing a lot of detangling comb and brush a massaging, and I'm just going to continue to keep doing what I'm doing and they eventually will grow out more and I'll put it in different styles but right now I just push it back in a bun🤗😊
I love ypur nails. I’m a short nail person- I really adore the look of short nails when they’re manicured but yours are nice not too long. They look very classy!
I transitioned kinda easily from relaxed to natural. I rocked a pixie for like three years and when I decided to grow it out some of my younger AA coworkers suggested i don’t relax it. I’m like twenty years older than one of them. I bitched and talked some shit for about ten minutes but I did take their advice and I’m glad I did. I’ve got some decent length now and I love the way it looks and feels and I love styling it. I wish I knew then what I know now.
Being natural is a lot of work but I do love my hair way more in this natural state versus when it was relaxed. I be thinking about cutting it short all the time but I’m fighting through 😭😂😂🙏🏿🙏🏿‼️‼️
Beautiful style. I think this process is somewhat easier mentally for people like myself who grew up in families with relatives who at times wore natural hair in its natural state. More recently I have noticed a lot of my younger cousins also went through a phase of wanting straight hair all of the time because of peer pressure but now they enjoy both. They have watched myself and other relatives do it all their lives.
I transitioned about six years ago.. I have very tight curls and so the hard part is detangling my hair. I got to about three inches and I did the big chop I couldn't deal with the two textures. It's still a struggle today because I don't like to do hair and the shrinkage is real(I can go from 3" shrinkage to down my back flat ironed) .. and I've considered a relaxer again but my stylist won't let me lol.. good luck to you being natural takes alot of effort and patience but well worth it!
I was relaxed from age 11 to age 15! Then I went natural at age 17 ( big chopped after 2 years of transitioning )! I had a long and difficult journey as natural girl. And after 5 years natural I decided to relax again this year. It was a mistake tho 😅😅 I regret so much I am transitioning again… This video actually motivates me
Awesome poem. But take this as a reminder to build your kids up so society can’t tear them down later. It is your responsibility to teach them self love, not societies.
Realizing that my face and head shape were the reason certain styles didn't flatter me, not my hair. Once I figured out how to style my hair, the texture, density and length of it literally doesn't bother me anymore.

Boo, what’s been one of the most challenging experience transitioning into your natural hair journey? 🥹
It's the having to stress about styling, we are not born hairstylists and it takes alot more time and effort to look decent. 😩 💔

Arm strength and time management 😂, but worth it because my daughters ❤ their hair!
The energy it requires.
Still, I refuse to give up...🤎
Detangling it. I had 2 cut some knots out the first but I've grown it out past where it was before I had 2 cut it.

Well! please let the Poetry writer know that she is fierce!❤❤❤
More like garbage poetry. Tells what kind of home she grew up in, most black women can't relate to that, it's not the normal.

I've been natural for almost a year now and to be honest its the hardest job ever to keep it. I don't know how long ill do this
@@TOOO951 I agree, It's quite a commitment but just keep trying for as long as you can manage.
My biggest challenge was getting lots of knots and tangles when I washed. Working it out. 5 years a natural. No plans to ever perm again.
What's ur method for detangleing now if you don't mind?

Best wash day advice I can give? Wash in 4(or more) sections. Less tangles and knots altogether.
Your makeovers are always flawless. Thanks for giving other natural hair black women ideas.
I'm so thankful I never learned to hate my 4c hair. I've been natural for over 25 years. I've been natural most of my life.
