Wow. Pixel is adorable. I've been looking for a minature poodle and she looks like she could be a minature. We had two standard poodles which recently passed away after almost 15 years with us. Poodles are fantastic pets.

I still miss my Pixel. I have my favorite picture of her on my mantle where I can see it every day. We had twelve years together and even though I love my current dog, Pel, Pixel was my first dog and was very special. I hope your years with your Pixel are as wonderful as mine were.

pixel is adorable! just a cutie!! we also have a dog, but she doesn't sit still for very long and doesn't listen. i have gotten quite a few good photos of her sitting. but that's a German Short hair Chocolate lab for you. for being 11, she acts like she's two. but she is a big baby lol

Great video. One question - how do you get such sharp photos whilst hand holding a long lens? Camera shake is one of my biggest issues even with a 35mm! Maybe because I'm getting old and doddery? :)
Is there a flash in your beauty dish (umbrella?) or is that a constant light?

If you shoot wildlife and therefore have a 500mm f4, they make fantastic portraits of dogs since you can be a bit further away and get a more natural expression without them wanting to go up to you for cuddles.

Pixel is a cute name for a dog. Naming a dog is a collaborative choice in our household. I will offer Canon and Kodak for our next dogs.
At the beginning you are holding an X-H1 but the you seem to be shooting all the pictures with the Nikon. What was that about?
The X-H1 didn't cut it.
Tony was going to shoot with the X-H1 and I was going to shoot with the Nikon. I accidentally grabbed his camera and then changed back to mine before I started shooting
I'm really looking forward to your X-H1 review and I hope you will also have some insights (or speculations :D) about what's to expect from Fujifilm this autumn at Photokina.

Just manual. I generally find TTL is more trouble than it's worth, unless I'm moving around and shooting an event.

I totally agree. In my dream world, this is a sting operation, and seconds after giving my puppy a thumbs down, they'd find a SWAT team bashing in their doors and searching their computer. If they give Pixel a thumbs down, you know they're doing some evil stuff.
Sightly off topic, but your recommended gear section in the video notes confuses me. Where the heck is selling a D810 for $5300? Also, why would you even recommend an 810 in the first place with the far superior 850 out now?
If memory serves that's the 810 plus a lens. 810 over 850 because not everyone needs an 850. It's kind of like saying why would you get the 7D III when the 1DX exists.
