Mostly a bank fisherman but still watched and gave a thumbs up! Love you guys and all you do! Thanks sooo much! You guys have helped my fishing so much over the years...and hurt my wallet a little...lol
Good vid Tim the new electronics are difficult for some of us who are not on the water every day a lot of the functions are not intuitive so all the help you give is++++++++👍🏻😎
I haven't looks through your guys' whole library of videos, but do you think a video could be made about fishing exclusively from shore for those of us that don't have boats? Obviously almost all of the info on your channel can be used on shore, but I thought there might be some tricks and tips you guys could come up with and it might make a decent video. I dunno, just a thought.
Great tip on the heading up adjustment, we have fought that problem for a while now. Can't wait to make that change. Thank you for all the knowledge you guys share, it sure shortens the learning curve.
Tim ... I fish ex lusively out of a kayak and you are absolutely right about the heading setting on the GPS. For a long time I just had North because I'm used to looking at Maps paper maps. But I have found that like you showed us that setting my heading as my preferred method of navigation I have been able to get to places that I wanted to be a lot easier.
Awesome tips man did not realize these 3 tips. Makes alot of sense. I will be readjust this weekend. Thanks man. I am running a oninx at console and helix on bow. I'm am using internal GPS for now. Plan to install a puck this winter.
I note that you and Matt have your GPS puck mounted in different locations. Why and which one is better? Tim's is mounted on the gunnel vs Matt on the Deck near the gunnel. Please advise. Thanks
When are you going to do an update on clearlake with the crappie bite. Perhaps show using the electronics in finding those slabs. Like settings and such?
I have a Helix 9 that I am trying to do the offset for the trolling motor. I can’t find that sonar source menu. Can you point me in the right direction?
Important to remember that unless you have an external compass module, "heading" isn't a viable option. Your course might will be accurate, but your course isn't always the direction that your boat is pointing, especially at low speed, since your course is affected by wind and current. The external GPS/compass units from Lowrance (the little white puck next to the trolling motor) are a great investment if you use waypoints for fishing. It makes the placement of the waypoints more accurate and gives you better reference when finding them again relative to the boat.
In 2D it's a lot of guess work, once you catch a species let it swim around your transducer and see what it looks like. Bigger fish will return a thicker line, not a longer line necessarily as length is dependent on how much time it is below your transducer(hence why you get arches). With Side Imaging, especially with mega, you can look for the shadow of the fish and get a pretty decent guess as to what it is, on the TB insta they have a few snapshots of carp.
Question- So if i'm understanding tip #3 correctly. If you're using the "North Up" setting and using side imaging, then what is on the left and/or right of the screen, IS NOT necessarily what's on the left and right side of the boat?
Good video. I was wondering if you could work with tackle warehouse and get your own code. You put links for the stuff you use on the channel... we click and it takes us to tw. I make a big shopping list every year for tw and bass pro. Just wondering if a code we could enter at checkout would be feasible. Not looking for a discount but if you mention it on your channel and I buy it... you should get something for it. Make sense?
Best channel on CZcams and by far the most in-depth and informative for fishing tips, tricks, and techniques.

Thanks again guys - we rent a bass boat in the Ozarks every year. Now we will adjust accordingly. Nice job! This will make life a little bit easier.
Another great video from the best bass fishermen on the internet. Thanks for the tips Tim. God Bless you and yours.

Awesome stuff! I need a Nice Fishfinder like that next.
Good tips and explanation of how to make adjustments on electronics.
Wow simple but so over looked and so important!! Can’t wait to adjust and get out
Thanks for the Navigation tip. Real handy!
Great tips this will help as soon as I get a fishfinder for my little basstender
Great tip about the depth offset!!
Thank you. Give us some more tips when you can. Thanks for sharing. Love your channel.
Excellent tips. Thanks Tim!

Tim, what's with the analog gauge needle moving back and forth? What's causing that?
Love this channel and everything about it...but north up for life ! Lol :)

Thanks Tim that really did help
Great Vid Tim, but what I really want is all of your waypoints! ;-)
If you are on a budget, what electronics do you recommend if doing an upgrade??
What’s the gauge next to his steering wheel that keeps going from “empty to full” ? Lol
I noticed that too. LOL
It’s the fuel gauge. Someone keeps siphoning the tank and then filling it back up. They are off camera so you can’t see them. They are very sneaky!
@@mr.fatbasstard_--_ Probably a Mercury engine.
no doubt...never noticed it till i saw your comment....
@@mr.fatbasstard_--_ DANGIT LOL
Thanks I will try it. At you guys salmon fishing?
Thanks Tim, I have Humminbirds and boy are they user friendly. I noticed your speedo going wacko, must be a Mercury engine. : )

I need to do this, just no patience when I get in the water. I just want to cast!!!
The problem I have in Wisconsin is, I see fish on my locator. How do I know if it is a bass or walleye or musky, or something else?

What camera do you use and what setting are you recording in? (720/30, 1080/60, etc) THX
You guys should make your own baits I will for sure buy them
I have to set mine north up. I guess it’s just what you’re accustomed to.
Good stuff! Thanks

Hello tim, I have a question for either you or Matt is there a way to reach one of you?
I need to look into Garmin and see if the north or heading up deal is available
VitalFishing
It is!
Bob Barnhill I looked today and didn’t see it... I have 93sv, do you know where it’s under?
You didn’t put the hat in description I need one great video 👍
Pretty sure u want to subtract the depth offset not add
Just stole all your waypoints!!! Just kidding.... Hope to see ya guys at Bullards this Winter!
If ur shaft is 2 ft under the water u need to subtract the 2ft not add
these are only good for larger lakes and if you arnt a local.
I just assumed everyone sets up the fish finders correctly. Guess not.
I wish one of you would put livescope on your boat.
The only TB vid I didn't learn anything...
Spy baits please
Too much tech..fish from canoe with fly rod!!
