KEMPER User Tries the TONEX Pedal (Can this KILL the KEMPER?)

- Hey everyone,
I know I am late to the party on this one, however, I'm VERY excited to be demo'ing the TONEX Pedal in this review and give my thoughts on it.
Can the TONEX pedal really compete with the Kemper profiler? In my opinion, yes. It's a spectacular profiler/capture device but watch until the end because I don't think it's a clear Kemper "killer" like I saw people posting about initially when the pedal was released.

When you mentioned that the TONEX not having a lot of features is a PRO I agree! I found like what you said about multifx units it’s so much more dialing and to some it could be discouraging. I have the TONEX and I really liked this, the ACS1 was great but this was a little more my thing. When people do say stuff about “*insert* killer” usually whatever someone has usually works for that person :)
spitting truth at 7:12 dude - they're all really great at this point. just depends on what you like and how you want to edit
good point about the thought of Tonex sounding “sterile”. it’s really like an amp in a room miced up without any post processing which I love while playing live. what a time to be alive for guitar players!

I completely agree with you on all of this. It’s just so fun to plug in and play with my pedalboard. I also have Helix Floor. Love both and all of these tools have their place.
Have you tried using the TONEX for your amp tones yet and the Helix for your effects?
@@ZachBrobstMusic well, yes! I have an HX Effects on my board….. killer rig. I have analog drives, ie Protein, warm ODD, plasma, expression pedal, into HXFX FX loop, straight into ToneX…. Fun

The Kemper has some kind of magical sauce in the cabinets that no other digital box can match.
I did hear some people say they use the TONEX without the cabs so I may need to try that too!
My feel with ToneX is strange. I find my recordings very good when I use ToneX plugin, better than with my kemper. But I have much more pleasure to play the kemper unit. It feels better to me in the clean range to mid gain. For the gainy amps I love the modelers, FM3 to plugins (nembrini) they have a much more complex behavior prefer.
NAM is also very good but your alway loses this little thing from the original
