In today's episode we cover all the wonder and fun we experienced during our recent cruise on the luxury expedition ship, the Celebrity Flora. We focus this episode on our on-island experiences throughout the Galapagos. This is a trip NOT to be missed! It's definitely one to move from your bucket list to your BOOK IT list!
We share specific tips about what to bring, what to wear (on both dry and wet landings) and discuss taking photos of the totally incredible Galapagos experience!
The landscapes, water and plants of the Galapagos are really beautiful and like nothing that any of us will see close to home. We'll show you around the islands to give you an idea of what you'll experience when you cruise the Galapagos Islands. And even better than the landscapes and water are all the amazing wildlife creatures. When you read that the animals of the Galapagos Islands aren't afraid of humans being nearby, it's TRUE! We were so up close to the animals and sea life of the Galapagos, it was truly amazing! We'll show you what we saw and how great it was to be able to take photos and video of our Galapagos experiences!
We also show you Santa Cruz and the town we visited on the last day of our cruise tour. It was lovely! We visited the Darwin Research Station where large Galapagos tortoises are being bred to continue to bring back the population of these creatures to better levels. We drove high up into the countryside to help Celebrity Cruises plant trees in the local forest, giving back and helping preserve the beauty and health of the Galapagos. We also experienced a wonderful lunch and show from the local people at Rancho el Manzanilla, a natural habitat for the giant tortoises - not to be missed!
