  • Going to have a little fun with this one. Doing a widebody conversion using the Iceman Collections kit with the Revell 1971 Mach1 Mustang kit. Now we are getting the Predator motor to fit. Lots of little tweaks but they all add up!
    Iceman Collections: Here is the link to the kit I bought. This project is not sponsored by Iceman, I am doing this for my own enjoyment. icemancollections.com/product.... And the engine: icemancollections.com/product...

    Awesome man. My first kid is turning 5 in two kids. Other kid is 2. I can’t wait to start these types of model kits with them! I have easily 150 kits I bought since they were born. We’ll be busy!

      That is awesome! Mine is now 7 and just wants to play his Nintendo Switch. I’m not surprised though. He will hand out with me in the room while I work on models and him on the switch.

    It's coming along nicely, looks like you've worked through a lot of the challenges with this kit 👍👍

    Looking good, possibly shorten the pan and spin it 180 deg. Or dig through the parts bin....

      I actually found one in my parts bin that was almost perfect. It will be in the next update.

    Nice work on the modifications. When you get away from using the kit parts there is almost always modifications that have to be done. Thanks for sharing.

    Those shock towers are also a problem on 1:1 cars, always been. The required exhaust manifolds to clear them were restrictive and the Ford cars were loosing the boulevard stop lights fights just because of that.

      Yes plus if a 67/68 Mustang or Cougar was equipped with a FE motor. It was the most expensive spark plug change. Job paid the tech 8 hours to unbolt the motor from its mounts, remove a few items to lift the motor 2 inches to get to the center 2 plugs on each side because of the towers. That was not an issue when the FE motor was developed in the mid 50s as that style of suspension was not developed yet.

    Man, the Stang is looking mean! I would look into a dry sump system for the oil pan clearance, nice work, looking forward to seeing the updates!

    Yes, custom work is time consuming. But worth it.

    on a real car i would unbolt the trans mount and turn it 180* to correct the slight misalignment problem with the trans and a dry sump pan might also be a solution anyway food for thought nice build

      I did something like that on my 71 Chevelle. I cut off the mount and fabbed up a new one for the 4L60 trans I was using. I did buy the aftermarket one that replaced the whole thing but it didn’t fit anyways.

    That engine is looking right at home in there. I wonder if an oil pan from a 4.6 modular motor would work with the sump up front. Although that original pan adds strength to the block and the transmission bolts to it. I would use the original pan and cut it up and make it look like it was modified.

      It’s looking good. I did chop up the pan some and tried a few others as well.

    Hey Mr. Turn down rear seat and place a spare tire there to see through rear window like old shelby's mustangs

    • @TheMuscleCarModeler
      @TheMuscleCarModeler  Před 4 měsíci +1

      Funny part is I have thought about that and I do have a spare from one of the Monogram 65 Shelbys! So it may be in a future update on the interior. I have mostly fitted the new front seats.

    I'm wondering how everything will fit with the glass installed, since it will require additional space

    • @TheMuscleCarModeler
      @TheMuscleCarModeler  Před 4 měsíci

      Should not be an issue. The body, chassis and firewall all snug up together tightly with or without the glass. But these could be my famous last words!

    Nice Build but Will you Upgraded the Rear Suspension To 2012 Mustang?
