Wow, I guess I’m the only person who actually likes the 14. My settings and lubes are: Magnet rods: blue Tension: 4 Compression: 1 Corner magnets: 6 Edge magnets: 2 Lubes: Veritas, Dignitas, and DNM-37. As far as amount goes, I lube it similarly to the 12M Maglev, just a bit more Veritas and a bit less DNM. With this setup, I definitely enjoy the cube for sure. Easily the biggest change that I recommend everyone make is switching to the blue magnet rods. They’re apparently weaker but with the 14, I think optimizing it is more complicated than just weak or strong because of the repelling edge magnets. I couldn’t find a setting on the white rods that wasn’t making the cube “sticky” feeling. Like it just won’t align properly and will just stop turning midway through a slice if you use the white rods. They should’ve definitely shipped it with the weaker magnets installed instead of the stronger ones, the same as they’ve always done.

Thanks for the honesty as usual guys. I got the cube and these were the notes I made for myself on it last week: "It has less crunchiness compared to the 13, but it’s still very noticeable. The cube is also so fast and loose that even on the tightest settings, it’s basically too fast. It feels slightly similar to the Super RS3M V2 - crunchy and fast and slightly blocky. Comparatively, it’s lighter and slightly less blocky, but pretty similar. I will be selling this one. It’s not bad but not even close to the 12. I give it a B."
I think it's interesting how there was this entire dispute on whether the Gan 12 was better and how gan was getting worse. Now we all wish we could go back to the Gan 12
idk why but i'm loving my 14 so far. i'm liking it better than the 11m pro i was maining before. the looser speedy feel actually works well for my turning style and once i found the tension settings i liked it felt great. i'm gliding through my algs a lot smoother than before.
I love the 14… like the auto alignment and stuff just works pretty darn good for my turning style. Every time I watch folks at the cubicle hate on the gan cubes I wonder how rare my turning style/needs are because no one in the team is liking the cube like I do… 😅
On mine the auto- alignment system is practically non existent just like with my Gan 13. I have 2 gan 12's and you can tell the autoalignment does stuff.
I’ve ordered one. This doesn’t give me much hope. But Gan cubes generally fit my turning style so hopefully I’ll like it. The 12 is my main and the 13 is my OH main Edit: After having the cube for about a week now and setting it up I can conclude it is my new main. In my opinion it is better than the 12 apart from the fact it’s slightly unreliable. It does pop a bit which is concerning when I use Gan cubes on tight tensions, however overall I do feel it’s better. So far I’ve had 3 pb Ao5s on this cube. Getting my first counting sub 10 solve in my current pb average (10.69 Ao5). I set it up with gravitas, dignitas and silk and it seems to have made it way more stable. In my opinion it’s a great cube however I can see how it isn’t for some people
1: Just because a cube is too fast for you doesn't mean it's bad. It's not too fast. It's too fast, FOR YOU. 2: A cube "speeding back up" after you put slow lube in it makes no sense. Cubes get slower with use, not faster. 3: If you corner cut at 45 degrees you deserve your cube popping.
I really like the GAN 14, and I mostly disagree with the last guy in almost everything he said. I'd say it's not about a cube just being slow or fast anymore, but also taking into account how much force it takes to turn. This cube isn't any faster than the V9, and the V9 is my main, what's different about it is that it takes considerably less force to turn the 14 than the V9, but it doesn't mean it's unstable or uncontrollable, it means you have to adjust your turning style to be lighter than with most other cubes, but you can't get used to this in just a few hours or even days. In other words, if you would like to try this puzzle, you need to have a little bit more patience with it than with other flagship cubes, even more if you're already used to heavier puzzles, but it performs amazingly and has a stunning premium feeling. While it's not going to replace my V9, I certainly enjoy turning it. Also, the puzzles that need to be usable out of the box, are the budget ones, because the main public for them probably don't know how to customize it. Flagship cubes are meant to be used by experimented cubers who already know a thing or two about customizing their hardware. And even then, I think I'm sticking with factory settings in the GAN 14, because they are really good for me.
I honestly half disagree. The out of the box settings should be the most popular setting so most people don't have to do as much work, but this simply isn't the case. Most people have to adjust this cube a lot more than they should need to.

I doubt that future cubes will be faster then that pyraminx, that pyraminx is practically a helicopter. There’s a really good reason why nobody uses that Pyraminx. Max Park chose springs instead of maglev for a reason. The probability of that happening is very very low.

How can I get sub 20? f2l is a monster man. You guys do it so fast, I can't keep all the different cases apart. Heck my cross even takes 10 seconds ... Been cubing for 15 years. Bought the Tornado v3 recently and I want to try to get sub 20.
I suspect the frustration may be more from the quality-control, than the multitude of options. Molds eventually wear out and have to be replaced, materials are constantly changing due to market availability. I believe the concept is good, it's a matter of executing it. Your comments lead me to believe that there is a more fundamental issue in the pieces, themselves. We are talking about fractions of millimeters. And the range of adjustments can't overcome this. 😊 My bet is, GAN will make a more consistent and precise product, but keep its basic philosophy of finer setup. Will this be the GAN 15? I think, "Yes". They have already run off all the 14's they intended. And, I don't think we are 3D printing any cubes yet, are we? Thanks for the honest review.
The settings on the gan 14 uv coated I bought felt great out of the box I found better settings when the tension and corner cutting is set at 2 and going to lube it with dnm 37 and gan lube 1

I used to main the Gan 11 M Pro, but I recently got the Gan 14. At first it felt really loose and uncontrollable, but I found some some good settings for it. Corner magnet strength set to 1, the edge magnets set to 1, some lunar lube, the tightness to 5, and the center travel at 2. In my opinion this makes the cube fell super smooth and fast, and overall feels really good.
Ever since the magnet adjustment system broke on my Gan XS in TWO pieces I vowed to never buy another Gan cube again, they are far too expensive for me to spend on and have them just break on me for no reason, the plastic on the sliding mechanism for the XS edge magnets just started cracking over time and the magnet system would explode out of the cube eventually, since then I have not bought another Gan cube, the Gan X was probably the last, good, and high quality Gan cube to release, the Gan i and XS destroyed the brand, and changed the meta to be matte plastic which is often cheaper and weaker, they even ended up changing the X to have cheaper matte plastic eventually. The Gan 11 was the last good performing cube they made, but was still low quality and unable to stand usage over long periods
I've had my old GAN XS for quite a while and i'm looking for another GAN cube along with something smaller. Is the GAN 12 maglev UV what I should get next (idm springs but I would like the UV coating)? I also wanna try the DaYan Guhong pro m 54mm for a smaller cube. I have the same problem actually, but it depends on how much you are willing to pay. Overall I heard more people liking the 12 more, but in function they are kinda similar, even though I like 14 more

I have always felt that GANs plastic isn’t super responsive to any lube. But i’m not sure about the new ones.
