I installed this toilet last week, everything worked like it should have. Nice looking toilet, too.
Fabulous video! Was able to install solo. Box came with few instructions. Music, helped too!
Wax ring was missing the rubber grommet. Thanks guys. It doesn't seal correctly without that.
I have the same issue. I searched for a video because the toilet instructions say the plastic cone must face away from the bowl, but my wax ring has no cone at all. I guess I’m heading to the store to buy a new wax ring
@@rockharvey5787 I had to also buy a separate wax ring after the fact. Why advertise that it comes with a complete 'kit' if you have to go out and buy a separate wax ring? Very frustrating. Hope American Standard enjoys the extra $0.30 they saved by skipping out on this.
I’m out here wondering why it didn’t have the rubber grommet. Every video it shows one with it…
Great information and demonstration ...........
Thank you so much for your video! It was so easy to follow your instructions.
Thank's again!.....

Thanks to Lot
but I loved this so much
Mine has some very sharp edges under the top rim,. How do I fix those, so I don’t cut myself during install and cleaning?
Houston, we've got a problem. The American Standard I bought today came with the wax ring but without the plastic cone that they mention in their instructions. Kind of looks like a hit or miss game.
Sure wish this video explained how to adjust the flow, especially since the manual that came with mine doesn't match the product I received.

Leaking out of tank where I screw on bolts!! Ugh
Awesome experience
Thank you for your review!
Peccato che non li fate costruire anche in Italia come cent'anni fa quando c'era la Standard Italia...
Parts missing. See my full comment below
Why can’t I find anywhere of what size the hose needs to be?
The second set of washers are not meant to be used under he toilet seat against the ceramic. This will potentially damage the toilet. They provide those for seat adjustment from the top of the seat.
khum kumar
That's correct. They need to edit the video.
After flushing, the float don't go enough down to refil the tank....
My Cadet 3 toilet didn't come with the metal washers and rubber gasket. Now my toilet seat slides around. Why American Standard? Why?
I just installed mine yesterday. It works quite well but the tank has a small drip leak at the tank to bowl bolt on the flush handle side. I've tightened down as far as I dare but it leaks anyway
Sorry to hear about the leak, Jim! Please give us a call at 800-442-1902 and we can help troubleshoot. Thanks!
@@americanstandard I fixed the problem. Went to my local mom and pop hardware store and got a toilet tank kit which consisted of two tank bolts, two cone shaped rubber washers and two flat washers and two nuts. I put the cone shaped washers inside the tank with original bolts after I threw the ones that came with it away. Then put the rubber flat washers on the underside of the tank and tightened it down. The reattached the tank to the bowl with the second set of nuts and washers. Problem solved
I installed this toilet yesterday and had the exact same issue. I will replace the bolts and washers like you did. Thank you!

I have been installing toilets on my job everyday for 20 years. I have installed every type on the market , commercial rear flush , power flush etc . I recently purchase this commode for my home and although I love its looks and European style ascetically, I was disappointed to see the " tank to bowl " connection. the rubber pass thru grommets' are not the way to go . you never want to try and make the two tank bolts seal by tightening and pull in down the tank to the bowl from underneath . There should be flat rubber washers on both sides of the tank bolts . they should then be tightened by nut and completely sealed . the tank then just " sits " on the bowl and secured by hand with two wing nuts . of course the tank to bowl gasket should be thick enough so that the two nuts on the underneath of the tank do not hit against the porcelain of the bowl . Bad designed connection , probably designed for a lower bottom line number perpetrated by some college wiz I.E. who has never even installed a toilet except for on paper . All my tradesmen friends find the same thing in their trades . Every college boy should have to work in a trade for 5 years before they are allowed to design , then and only then would they really know how things work out in the field " real world " . Sorry but I have installed over 1000 toilets and I know ...
I'm and A/C man, and plumbing is not my expertise, but I can understand you mean. Hey by the way, which is like the best big elongated toilet ever you recommend for a home ?
We bought a basic toilet from a distributor of just bath and kitchen fixtures and I agree that the bowl to tank connection is halfassed. After all said and done it still leaked from one of the connecting points.
At one time I was a journeyman plumber many years ago in New Mexico. When I bought this commode and saw the tank to bowl assembly I thought this is not what I remember. It worked fo a week then started leaking. I have installed many a toilet and never had a problem until this one. I still have the box and if it doesn’t work out I will return it. All that I will be out is the wax ring and my time.
@@josephcervone1483 did you fix your problem I have the same problem I can't tighten the screws anymore and I still have a leak under the toilet to bowl conection.
I’m sorry for those people that can’t do it them selfs and don’t wanna return it because they have to pay again!
AMERICAN STANDARD, I question, Why does you commercial urinals use a capital Lpf then you use a lower case gpf when the American standard is Gallon? What say thee.
In Italy the toilet connection is totally different. 😅🇮🇹

Wish I would have seen this video before I made the purchase , may just return it back to Lowes...seems like this product is inferior to other brand of toilets.

UNHAPPY BIRTHDAY
It looks like everything is ready with the just to connect to the toilet. I tried to get the screws inside that connects to the toilet and of course is leaking all over, I tried with 2 toilets, the same shit. Of course I got ripped off by the thieves ( plumbers). Needless to say that I'm the worst human being when it comes to fix things or assemble anything. I absolutely suck!
Brand new and I have to hold the handle to flush it it’s more expensive and it’s a piece of garbage 🗑
YOUR NOT STAND A CHANCE NEVER
The holes inside the tank are 1/2 inch wide!. WTF
Update: another day plus 60miles round trip to Lowe's and unsuccessfully installed again...
Going over the instructions and realized... for fuk sake... The toilet does not have a tank nut on it. So I out the tank gasket over the porcelain lip on bottom of tank, not knowing it was missing something that was supposed to be out in at factory.
So, guess another trip back to Lowe's. I already burned most of the packing material. They better just exchange me a tank. I do not want to pull up the bowl.
