  • In this video I’m putting together a flat ground setup to further my progression in the arena of beginner flat ground and freestyle tricks. It’s been wet and icy lately and the indoor skate park is closed. So it’s time to open the front room skate park!

      @DadGotGamez Před 2 lety

      @@dropoutbearofficial2520 You'll get a dozen different answers on this one, but if you're trying to do flip tricks, 80hd is going to be too soft. I have the banged up shins to prove it as I tried to use 80hd conicals on my 8 inch, Girl deck and the problem is the board bounces too much when it lands. It will definitely slow down your trick progress.
      Some people swear by 99-101 hardness only for tricks, but I think 86 Ricta Clouds can work as well. It all really depends. The harder you go, the last bounce (but also the less smooth ride). It all depends on your sidewalk and riding conditions/goals.

    I love the 8.45” size one. I am a flatground skateboarder mainly and I really enjoyed skating this different sized board compared to the standard popsicle deck. The flip on the board is amazing and actually found it incredibly easy to do a lot of flatground tricks! After about 2 months of consistent daily skateboarding, skating stairs aswell I’ve noticed that the tail shape ends up getting worn out and loses shape, that is with heavy skating. Highly recommend this board 10/10!

Super excited had to intentions on a new board untill discovering this 9.13 flight deck than noticing the scarcity so ordered the one I found immediately with titanium indys(first time trying to be light as possible) than bones big balls and the trimmings minus wheels which I’ll get later my Santa cruz speed bullets are still good buf want to fill crispy to start my son on the soon to be spare pocket pistol

    Hi there mr jon! Since the board is sized 8.45 uncommonly, how do 144 truck (8.25) feels with wheels when it used for rail stand? Does it flush sideways? Or does it a lil bit tilted? And does it impact rail tricks?

      Hey dude yes the wheelbase is different too, other than that it’s the same shape scaled down. I have both and I’ve done a video comparing the two (this one might be it?). @JonBishopSkate  Před 3 lety

      Hi Kayden
      These are just standard seismic skid plates. I slightly resized them for the 8.45. I recon they’d work fine on the 9.13? They don’t have to fit the contour perfect as it’s just the razor tail it’s there prevent.

  • @patximendizabal5150
    @patximendizabal5150 Před 3 lety +2

    If you are planning to focus more on flatground and freestyle rather than on Street, would not make more sense an even narrower and less concave board? also smaller 101A wheels maybe?

    • @JonBishopSkate
      @JonBishopSkate  Před 3 lety +1

      Hey Dude,
      Yeah, I thought about a proper freestyle board, but I’m massive and clumsy with flippers for feet and pelican legs. I started on a 10” and the 9” is just starting to feel comfortable. This 8.45 feels like a tooth pick to me😀 so I’d imagine anything in the 7” range would not be great for my current level. Also my idea here is a hybrid experiment so I still plan to skate the mini and street with it?? I’ll share my findings and the tweaks in Part 2.

After watching your video I took an old skateboard with a 8.25 deck and 52mm. wheels and it felt big enough, super light and way easier to do any flatground tricks. I presume that a 8'' deck would probably feel even better for freestyle. Just for you to know for your next setup 😉.
