Apparently they differed in interpretation, with joe thinking it's mutual while Taylor felt kinda forced to agree in order to keep the love going. Perhaps he not reading this inside her is one of the reasons why they split😢
Taylor felt forced to keep the love going? Oh please! More likely she kept it going long enough to write $46 million worth of songs about her highest grossing muse. When she couldn’t ring anything more out of it because Joe wasn’t providing drama (he is too grounded for her),
she decided to move on with Matty. From his perception, he truly loved her and was committed to the relationship. For her, this relationship was an emotional anchor to commodify in song. Thanks to Joe, she’s a billionaire now. Fortunately , Joe did not get duped into marrying her. He deserves so much better and I hope he finds true love with someone else.🙏

Taylor's album Lover would suggest that at the time, Taylor was blissfully in love with her Lover and London Boy aka Joe. I fully accept that their arrangement was perfectly good enough for her, until it wasn't. At the end of any relationship, we all reflect back upon what worked, what didn't, and why it didn't. What baselines each participant needed, which weren't being met.
The stark differences we're all seeing in her relationship with Travis, vs everyone else she has dated, specifically Joe Alwyn, is that we're seeing them celebrate one another. She's never had that, someone who is successful, in their own right, who can hang with the attention she gets, and doesn't allow his own ego to get in the way. Hiding in previous relationships could have been Taylor's idea, or her ex's idea, or a mix of both. If Taylor was conditioned to hide, either because ex boyfriends all wanted it, or the relentless media scrutiny made it too difficult for her relationships to thrive, she's allowed to reflect on that. She's allowed to grow from that. She's also allowed to call out those who were happy to let her hide, and share her perspectives on why she feels they were more comfortable, in the shadows. This doesn't make her a liar.
At the end of the day, shitty people, doing shitty things to Taylor Swift, are the problem. Not Taylor writing about it. Unfortunate that Joe denies her experience, and can't be reflective enough himself, to acknowledge that perhaps their "mutual decision" was harmful to her.
I like Dave Coulier's reaction to Alanis' You Aughta Know "Wow, I think I might have really hurt that woman." Taylor's exes could all take a lesson.

Love your point about Dave Coulier! As a person who has been subject to trauma, you should never invalidate someone's experience. She seems to love easily and feel pain and abandonment intensely.

Perhaps her parents are not influencing her, my bad. Sure Taylor is doing just fine. It’s the people she leaves in her wake (like Joe Alwyn) that are of greater concern. Joe did not say much about the breakup in The Sunday Times except for a brief comment in regard to the shameful harassment he has been receiving and that he has never been to the Black Dog Pub. In fact, he said no one should have to experience harassment. Hopefully, the media’s interest in the TS connection will fade in time. The article was mostly about his upcoming movie “Kinds of Kindness”. It’s set to be cult movie of the Summer. I can’t wait to see it! 🍿🎥😆

Joe is not capable of admitting such a thing publicly if he did cheat, besides he hides for a reason, he does not want anyone to know him for a reason, and Taylor's friends all unfollowed him for a reason. I would never take Joe's word over Taylor's. She would have no reason to lie about Joe, and has been very open and honest about things she has done that don't paint her in the best of light. Joe has never shared anything of substance about himself, ever. Shame on you Perez for accusing Taylor of lying! And why after over 7 1/2 years of never speaking of Taylor publicly, does he now open his mouth for the first time, over a year after their relationship has ended? I feel like she was respectful of him on her album. She DRUG Mattie 😂 and I think that is still stinging Joe. I think he's probably a very kind guy, a much better man than MH, but I'm sure it made him mad ah when most of the album was about Mattie. Jealousy makes people do things out of character. He's usually silent 😶 but he's been sitting with this music for over a month. Just my 2 cents.
I do not think Joe is mad, more like relieved it’s over. Definitely not jealous but probably disappointed. He has made peace with it according to the Sunday Times interview. A source clearly said he does NOT .want to participate in her narrative anymore. I agree he comes across as a very kind guy and mature. He was probably just too grounded for Taylor because she needs drama to write her music. Thus why she was drawn to Matty. Nothing wrong with being grounded and I hope he finds true happiness with someone better suited for him.
