    Very thorough review Rich! Not only are you a great trapper & hunter, but you 'd also make a great salesman. Haven't been looking for an Argo Conquest (and probably don't need one here in Idaho) but now that I've watched your review... I want one!

    I'm wondering if you can chime in on something, I am looking into buying a 2018 Frontier 8x8-S right now, I can get a great deal on it. But I'm kind of concerned the guys I ride with that have argo's are constantly chasing problems and having small breakdowns. They are mostly all very old argos due to the price alot of guys have heavily used argo's. How many miles can I look to see out of my argo before I start having gremlin issues? It only comes with a 1 year warranty, I'm use to getting 10 000 miles out of my ATV's with relatively light issues. How do you feel about it, I'm not super handy so I'm not big on hauling my toys into the dealer.

      You are just going to see maintenance for years. You keep up on the chain lube and bearing grease (as required! Not too much) and you are going to be trouble free for years.

    I have owned an argo conquest since 2002 they are not for kids to play with but i have used them for moose and elk hunting and also plow my lane way with the snow tracks, argo plow and the cab in heated comfort . Maintenance is just away of life with these machines but store them inside and use good oil and grease and maintain bearings and chains and they will not let you down i would like a set of Adair belted tracks but the wife wants some new kitchen appliances !

    I have always loved Argos but sadly people can buy a boat a 4 wheeler and a few other things and still be way under the price of an Argo
    That's why you don't see as many being used

      They have cheaper options i would get a 6 wheeler, i think that the 8 wheeler is to damn long to be maneuverable where I am at.

    I've heard that the older argo's had reliability issues. No one is ever specific though. What exactly went wrong with them?

    • @TrappingIncTV
      @TrappingIncTV  Před 5 lety +1

      In the 70's and 80's it was roll pins and axles.

    I hear some small concern about using tracks in the water...really? Soon someone will come to the realization that rather than just running board step along the outside, that add no extra float ability, make them such that they DO actually add some. A bottle, a barrel, a one gallon jug floats, any enclosed shape. Wouldn't be very difficult to design build and install that. So it could do both, one day...

    • @TrappingIncTV
      @TrappingIncTV  Před 3 lety

      Propulsion is the only track concern. Those 8 tires are buoyant enough to float way more than an Argo

    • @alancadieux2984
      @alancadieux2984 Před 3 lety

      @@TrappingIncTV ok sounded like the concern was being tippy to one side or the other. So their video stated that all aboard must disengage seat belts upon entering the water. From the looks of things i would have some type of outboard engine for water use, but thats just me.

    • @TrappingIncTV
      @TrappingIncTV  Před 3 lety

      It is the stupidity of government. The Argo must be tested for floatation WITHOUT the tires All specifications are based on tireless performance. I don't know how many people would have to stand out on the track to sink it one way or the other. Yes outboards are the answer in the water.

    • @alancadieux2984
      @alancadieux2984 Před 3 lety

      @@TrappingIncTV ok i hadnt heard anything about tireless testing, interesting. Personal preference i would certainly go with an argo over the mud ox. But watching videos on both, seen one recently where 4 guys got into a mud ox, with dual wheels all around it, with a rops on it, and standing on the running boards, two guys on each side, tried rocking it, ha ha, no chance, even with single tires I still doubt it. Friend of mine rents argos with tracks on all of them to companies doing powering maintenance. He takes all of those low pressure balloon type tires off, and replaces them with flat faced "turf" tires, like for a lawn tractor. I think the idea was that since you need slightly more power to run tracks, & you don't need soft low pressure tires when you have tracks, then you get more power to run tracks. Same guides bolted to the regular Argo track, they found a size that fit. Have you seen or heard anything about this? Or have you tried it? I can see the day coming when I'm going to own one.
