I need help! I just purchased this and I got it today and I've tried and wasted so much material! The smart vinyl will not peel off at all! It appears that the blade is only scoring and not cutting.. help I don't know what to do it's brand new

Hi, great video. I have just purchased the cricut joy for transferring vinyl onto glass mugs. I've managed to work out the process of printing, however when I transfer to the mugs, the vinyl is rough and not as flat to the surface as I would like, I could literally peel it off with my nail. Do you know why or have any advice on how to get the vinyl more flush against the glass ?xx

Today I used Smart Vinyl Permanent (without a cutting mat) but unfortunatly the letters will not separate from the smart vinyl. It almost looks like it did not cut all the way through. However I followed the instructions. I don't know what to do.... Do you have an idea ? Thank you ;)

Weeds like a dream??? mine was a nightmare. there were 3 layers, it did not cut through one of them which was a very thin clear film, so I was left with a stretched out shredded mess! I cut it many times and no change. The frustration is not worth it... : ( I will never buy it or try it again! I'm going back to the old school vinyl that only has two layers and one actually gets cut and can be weeded out.
I got the machine and went to print some things and was like wait how the heck do I pick it up, idk why I assumed it would all peal up like one big sticker 😅
Hi Tiffani, are you using a mat with the smart vinyl? On the Cricut website, I can see that smart vinyl without a mat ha been made for Cricut Explore 3 but not earlier models. What problems are you having? :)

Lovely video. I'm trying to apply stickers on my motorbike fairings, all goes nice then when i pull off the transparent sheet, the vinyl sticks a bit on it, getting curly and bubbly. What's the problem, in your opinion? Wrong transfer transparent sheet or wrong vinyl? (It's cricut permanent glossy black smart vinyl)
Hi Michele! When you remove the transparent sheet, it sounds like you are pulling it up which lifts the adhesive. Try pulling it slowly sideways while still pressing down on the vinyl as you go! - Dawn

Thanks for explaining the differences between to tools and why the XL Scraper is the best one to use on Smart Vinyl.
thank you SOOOOO much. I don't have an XL scraper tool but i used a 30cm thin plastic ruler and rubbed, rubbed, rubbed. Worked first time.

What type of transfer tape are you using? Also did you squeegee the transfer tape onto the vinyl to ensure it would adhere?

Hey Taryn! The Smart Vinyl is thicker than regular so you may need to increase the pressure! Which machine re you using? - Dawn

Permanent smart vinyl is not an option for me in design space. I have an explore air 2. What should I select?
Premium vinyl as your material and select "MORE" pressure in the selection
Smart vinyl isn't a choice for me in the cricut design studio
do you have the correct machine selected? you have to have the Cricut explore 3, maker 3 or the Joy selected

can you use smart permanent vinyl on tshirts??
You would want to use HTV on a shirt and not permanent adhesive vinyl. - Brittany
