“They will distribute the cost among their customers” isnt a benefit.

Why is nobody talking about people who live below 60th street who will be most affected? We can't travel about including in our boro because coming home will cost us $15. People from other boros can travel between each other, avoid Manhattan and avoid the tolls. We can't. I don't even drive in the city. I can't remember the last time I drove to mid-town. But I do travel to Brooklyn and NJ. And each time it will cost me $15 to go home.

Who lives above 60th street and routinely drives into lower manhattan everyday? You’re a liar

So then surcharge *EACH AND EVERY RECIPIENT* within that zone the cost of the toll *and* an "administration fee" for collecting it.
They won't necessarily listen to a handful of disgruntled trucking companies, but they *WILL* listen to thousands and thousands of businesses, residents, etc., who depend on those deliveries.
If cabs/ubers can charge extra, so can trucking/delivery companies.

“Distribute cost amongst their customers” consumers in NYC will continue to bear the burden of MTA’s negligence and misuse of funds.

This is just going to hurt the consumers at the end of the day, MTA doesn't care.

Figures why I saw 2 Ryder trucks unusually parked in my neighborhood

I hope that they end up doubling the fee for the trucks. These idiots are always double-parked in areas that cause severe bottlenecks. I don't care if they are charged 4 times the proposed rate.

How does getting the deliveries to customers quicker benefit the drivers when they're getting charged every which a way except Sunday?
Passing the buck won't cut it because consumers will stop buying products that are overpriced. Any 3rd grader knows this...
Additionally, if they're able to make more deliveries due to less congestion that merely means they'll be paying more fares!!! Sounds like those truckers will be paying for the lack of vehicles in those congestion areas. Its a scam.
They can at least charge them once per day like cars but they know that's where threal money is smh...

I mean I don’t know. Those of us who don’t drive & use transit, have to pay a fee every time we use it. So why not have the truckers (side note, who often cause crazy delays for transit users anyway) pay a fee to use the city’s public infrastructure, the way us transit riders have to?

You have to fund the MTA somehow & money doesn’t grow on trees. Better this than raising taxes on New Yorkers.

Some comments say to "leave" NY, or to oppose the tax in some way or the other, but in the end, just "THINK" about the objective of this "tax"..... The ultimate goal is to STOP anyone from access to that "zone", if you will..... Congestion, or Climate change, or density of the populous, amid so many more stupid asinine "conclusions", are of no benefit to anyone.... Except to those who live there.... But, why? Why would they want to limit travel to a certain point in a city? Well, my argument is that it will start with this area, and move it's way out to other districts, eventually engulfing a wide area, where no one may enter.... Except those pigs that are called elites..... Why build a wall on the southern border, when you can wall yourselves off from the "plebs" that pay taxes? Oh, and as for the taxes...... What will happen when taxes are no more? When people can't afford taxes, and will meet their needs and means in other ways? I am very confused as to why this is the plan, but I think it is a test to start somewhere and analyze the results...

MTA is a failed department. Everyday few thousands people don't pay 🚌 and 🚂🚆.
