I feel you. Especially Target and Home Goods being pretty disappointing this year. Also the mercari upsellers are really taking over home goods and the target presales. 🤷🏻♀️
This is why I'm so annoyed after my trip out today. I know a lot of the stuff I wanted is gone because of these upsellers. I see everything I wanted to get in store online for 3 times the price. Thinking I should give up on new decor this year and stick with what I've got.

Cassandra S I completely understand that! I understand when people are just trying to be fair and make ends meet but when people deliberately jack up prices in wanted items even something silly like mugs and knick knacks that’s is just ridiculous and childish
Absolutely agree with the Target assessment. Didn't even bother going this year.
I must say though if you have a cat you should definitely check out their halloween cat scratchers! I saw them the other day and they’re actually really fun, one was like a haunted hotel which was too cute!
Same. They used to have the coolest stuff, 5-10 years ago (or more). I remember a big Day of the Dead collection, I still have lots of cool plates and things from their past collections. But the last few years there is less and less that appeals to me.

@@hamingjure The last time I checked, last week, my Target didn't have anything out yet either. But I looked online this weekend and saw their collections for this year and I didn't see anything I wanted. I assume they might put it out this weekend for Labor Day shoppers?

I am doing Salem witch theme this year and I destroyed that Target dollar spot. And bought so many little witchy and black cat figurines from Michael’s. I couldn’t help myself!
Loved the stuff at Michael's, esp the old style decor. There was NONE of the pink line when I went except for one pillow. I haven't been many other places tho
I guess they only picked select stores to carry the line and it's selling out like crazy. According to their customer service there is no restock on it for the season either.
I went to goodwill and found 3 different spooky town collectibles for like $5 each. I was soooo excited for that find!! But I agree, the Michaels line looks even better in person.

Spirit is great, but I have to say Home Depot really brought it with their animatronics. They have a 12 ft skeleton this year!
Target is just playing with my feelings this year.. I find things I like online, and everything has been constantly sold out and they haven't even started setting stuff out in stores yet. I turn on notifications for when it's back in stock, and as soon as I get the notification- it's out of stock yet again. They had really really good decor last year and it sold out soooo quickly... you'd think they would have tried to get more in stock for this year but I guess not. I don't work in the warehouse so I have no clue what's going on, but c'mon man..
I love the Michaels Halloween Canisters! They have one that says Bone Dust I use that for sugar I had the cashier laughing at that when I told her lol
I’d also to add, what’s up with the Gnomes? I’m confused on that one. Really loved Home Depot’s 12 ft skeleton!
The Bath and Body Works witch projection plug in was definitely my favorite new piece of decor this year. 🎃🧡

Going to Salem Massachusetts on Halloween was one of the most AWESOME things I have EVER done!! I highly recommend it!!

I absolutely LOVE that pastel goth line at Michaels. So up my alley with a little pink, but mixed with the skills and spiders. When you showed the whole collection I just reverted to that little girl inside, and I just kept saying "it's soooo pretty!!" 😅😅

Me tooo! I tend to lean towards mid century modern/Scandinavian furniture, ornate Victorian frames and shapes, with a little punk rock Lisa Frank subject matter in there. Any clear acrylic furniture gets me so freakin excited, but I can’t afford it yet, so I end up with industrial/urban designs bc they are utilitarian (and still lookin badass) I love a SOLID metal multi-tiered cart on casters baby! I’ve also got an obsessive and constant need to fuss with and adjust all my plants until they’re in a perfect spot. And get more plants... then I have art supplies and spray paint cans all over the place bc I like painting galaxies on all my doors and tables. I love the aesthetic and freedom of minimalism but I am fully in acceptance that I can never have it, not many artists can unless they are strictly stuck to one medium
Totally agree with the pastel goth line at Michaels. I love it! It's so nice to see something original. I wish they would have had a bit more options with the colour pop though like some nice lavender or a Tiffany blue

My boyfriend loves the enchanted line from At Home. He has a dragon obsession and got lots of pieces for his man cave to keep up all year long. I agree with you though it’s not my personal favorite.

definitely agree that a lot of it is repeat stuff we've seen every year. Especially with Spirit Halloween's home decor section and a good half of the stuff in Michael's, AtHome, and JoAnn. That said, the new jewel-tone line at Michael's is TO DIE FOR and I love it so much!
I wasn't sure about Michael's Pastel Goth at first, but it grew on me (& I'm not a "pinky" kind of girl). As for At Home's Dragon theme, I do a Haunted Swamp theme to my yard, so some of their mossy dragon decor can have a snake/alligator/swamp feel & fits in with my theme. Was a little disappointed in Target, too, this year.

Love this roundup! The At Home collection you were disappointed with was actually great to include because I think it's actually a good thing that it was repetitive of last year! It means that people who saw it last year can stock up again, or if it was sold out last year, it's another chance to get your hands on stuff, OR like me, this is my first Halloween in my new house so I can decorate a lot more than before.
Can't wait to check out some other stores though that I didn't even think to look!

I completely agree with Homegoods being disappointing this year. I have checked about three times a week and I’m blown away by how little the selection is. Yes, as you said Covid probably negatively affected product but so far such a let down. Also, I noticed that after they put their truck out and I would see the new stuff, if I came back at the end of the day almost everything was gone! I know people shop Homegoods hard but it seems a lot of people are buying stuff up to sell at 5 times the price on sites like Mercari. I also do agree with you that Michael’s killed it. They have phenomenal Halloween decor!!
When I was 6, a haunted house down the street took young kids in and terrorized them with front the door closed. I had nightmares, my dad took me back to hear the woman say "its just pretend" but she would not! Ive been hooked on Halloween ever since! Love the channel, keep it up
Hell yes, I really liked this video. For me, this is way more digestible and easy to use as a shopping guide for my spooky decor, wheras the shop with me videos are more of a fun vloggy style thing. So yeah, I for one would love to see you do one of these every year!

I love the purple and green line at Micheals this year! My spouse and i fell so in love with it that now we want to get it for our living room. They have this beautiful welcome sign that would fit the space above our kitchen door so its the first thing you see when you come in!
michaels always be poppin off with that sort of necromancer'ish type of stuff,all they need is maybe some glowing green candlesticks/candlebras, or some charter floor runes for whatever room you decide that would fit in.
I cannot wait for Halloween! Hopefully we can all still celebrate and go out for some candy :)

Thank you for all the work you put into shopping for Halloween and year around decorating. I have to enjoy it vicariously through your channel. Just my luck I fell in love with and married a guy 20 yrs ago that doesn’t like Halloween or anything spooky🙄. Can you imagine how soul crushing it is to live in a house that is beach\Florida themed when my soul is black.The extent of my sad collection is kitchen towels and 2 glasses that say poison. Anywhoooo you are fabulous!!!!

I totally agree with you about being disappointed in HomeGoods this year! Totally get it's covid, but I'm having the hardest time finding spooky throw pillows, spooky dishware (plates, mugs, platters, etc), kitchen accessories (cookie jars, spatulas, sponge holders), and bathroom items! I also haven't seen one Rae Dunn Halloween item. I'm not the biggest fan of Rae Dunn, but those cauldron mugs and cookie jar (like the one you got) are adorable!!
Michael's killed it for me this year. My year round decor is shabby chic and skulls. So, the pastel goth collection is going to finish up my bedroom decor. I also collect potion bottles and Michael's has so many good ones this year. The Lakeside Nevermore bathroom collection is wicked cute and I am getting a couple of pieces. I always appreciate the effort you put into letting us know where the good stuff is. Take care!

I agree with you the black and pink Michaels collection is the most original I’ve seen in person. I’m definitely a black and orange kinda girl but those baby pinks with the black were gorgeous to look at 👀🖤
I'm a little surprised you didn't mention Big Lots at all! I actually love their black and gold gothic line this year. I bought some signs and the lace pumpkins. However, you turned me on to the Target Dollar Spot this year too. I was hoping to find those brooms I saw in one of your videos, but they are long gone. :(
That 32” witch from At Home was stunning. After you stumbled across her in the last video I had to run out and get one myself. She’s my favorite Halloween piece now
Loved this video!! For me, I think Bath & Body Works knocked it out of the park this year. Loved their candelabras, the witch projector and wallflowers. Even the graphic design for the candles were great. The only thing they missed out on is a luminary this year.
Big lots has a lot of cool stuff and walmart has a glass gallon drink dispenser for $20.i can't upload a pic thougg,though, its amazing!!

Loved the recap of the collections seen so far! I agree Target fell short this year, where I live they still haven't put any of the decor out, and online anything I wanted is sold out lol. Michaels came threw this year for sure! A variety of collections that worked for diff vibes.

I can see and agree with your opinion about Grandin Road. However, I did get the 2 tree people and the stems with skulls and they are sooooo nice. They were heavy pieces, no glue strands, no pieces falling off or missed spots. I'm actually going to use them for year round. They are pieces of decor that I will hand down to my niece and nephew who also like Halloween. I do wish they had more pieces like that.

Honestly I was underwhelmed by Target too but happy to see they still had a few pieces from last year. (I have a 2.5 year old so a few of the kiddish items are right up her alley.) I still spent the majority of my budget there lol

I would love to see a video on how you manage to keep Halloween decor separate from year round in your house! How do you manage to keep a spooky vibe all year, but still decorate for Halloween and make it feel special/ look different? If that makes sense?
Also, my biggest disappointment this year is that everyone is taking forever to put stuff out!! I understand it's due to Covid, but it still sucks :( On that note, it seems like Target takes longer and longer to put their stuff out every year!

I discovered you last year and thank you so much for your Halloween info! Halloween is a big passion of mine since I was a kid. I was always watching horror movies of all kinds, reading Creepy and Erie comics, started buying Fangoria zine from the beginning etc. thank you for helping me discover At Home line and Lakeside. I just ordered my quilt and shams from the Nevermore collection. Not to be sad but my dad passed away unexpectedly in August and Halloween shopping has been a joy. BTW I never put comments on the videos I watch but wanted to thank you.
The Eerie and Enchanted dragon line was amazing for me just because I play DnD with my friends but I had never seen an At Home before. The line was great for me since I've never seen it before AND I can keep it out year round so it's a win win :) but I will be sad if they dont expand/change it up next year

I was really disappointed because I live in a small town that barely has any stores, I only have a few stores and they were ALL super late with their Halloween stuff, they had very little stuff, some still have nothing by now :( I had to do online shopping which isn't bad but I love the experience of actually looking at the stuff.
Wish I could send you a picture, but Michael's has the clock in the witches hat. I love them. I have one from this year, and one from a past year. There different, so I wonder if they will keep changing the design.

Honestly, the thing I love yet hate about HomeGoods is how you never know what you're gonna find! Sometimes I stop into one and I find nothing which is always a bummer but on the flip side, sometimes I find some of my favorite all time items! This year has been crazy hit or miss. I always just like an excuse to stop into one of the stores though. 😂❤️ I would also love to see a video like this each year. Fun discussion video!
TOTALLY agree that Target is drifting away from cool stuff for adults, and HomeGoods...ARGH. It's been absolutely anemic! Hopeful that *maybe^ more is on the way...

Yes!! I walked into Joann yesterday and saw the dark and deco line for the first time. I literally gasped out loud and threw my hands in the air! This has to be the coolest Halloween theme/line I’ve ever seen. And 100% agree that it’s perfect for dark decor year round. I thought that right away and already know where in my living room I’m going to hang the “Bone Voyage” print and the black velvet with gold spider and gold snake wall plaques I bought! It was really hard not to buy everything. 🖤🤍🖤

Ugh the lack of spooky mugs at Home Goods/TJ Maxx/Marshalls is killing me :( I've been going twice a week and can't find more than a few Charlie Brown mugs. Hopefully, more will start popping up soon! Love this vid, would love to see it every year!
I agree on Target being a bit disappointing and Walmart coming up as a strong contender in the Halloween game... I feel like in general, there’s a lot of repeats from the past few years in a lot of stores, which is great if you missed out on something but I’d rather see more creative new stuff!

I agree with your assessment of Target, I was there so I walked around a bit and the only spooky mugs that they had were like cartoon character. They had a ghost that looked just like Casper, a Frankenstein's Monster, and a little black cat. I could see any of the three on a T-shirt for a five year old.

I absolutely ADORE the art deco stuff I saw at Joannes today, and bought several pieces. Easily my favorite of the year so far. I hit three KC metro area HomeGoods looking for the spooky plates with no luck.

I loved Joann’s this year! I really thought Michael’s was my favorite but once I saw Joann’s……wow! My At-Home had almost nothing in stock for halloween! They were already putting out Christmas when I went.
I agree with you in the beginning when you said this is the best time to shop for year-around spooky decor. The only problem is I swear so many things are just made so cheaply! I wish there were some better quality pieces thrown in to the mix around this time of year that go with the aesthetic but are also high quality.
I love this video idea! My favorite line is the vintage line I’ve seen it in a ton of different stores! I thought the blush in love collection this year would be really good for all year round just because that is kinda my vibe.
This year has been all about Michael's and JoAnn's for me. Not gonna lie, I got so excited I teared up when I saw JoAnn's Dark & Deco line lol. My room decor is black and gold art deco, so it was so exciting and surprising to see a freaking HALLOWEEN line that works for it! And Michael's has so much great stuff this year. I basically want all of their Mystic Moon line, and while the pink line isn't my taste, I love that they went outside the box and did something completely different.
Most disappointing is Ross. They're usually my Halloween headquarters every year, but it looks like they've been hit particularly hard by Covid. In my area, they're typically one of the first stores to start putting stuff out, and by now they have a huge section. This year, there's one scrawny corner shelf way in the back of the store. Completely out of their hands, but really sad to see. I'm addicted to their Halloween blankets ($10 each and so many spooky designs that work great year-round) and I haven't seen 1 in person yet. :(
Can’t stop won’t stop, all Halloween all the time! We deserve this. 2021 should just be entirely fall.
