- HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!! I almost didn't post this since it's a little late in the game, but I thought it would be a fun little Halloween surprise! Plus we tend to be a little spooky around here all year long so why not? All the recipes and inspo for recipes are list below!
Spooky Trail Mix
1 16 oz Can Cocktail Peanuts
1 14 oz Can Cashew Halves salted
1 Bag Candy Corn
1 Bag M&Ms or vegan chocolate chips
Mix all ingredients in a large bowl (I don’t recommend shaking them up because the M&M coating likes to chip off) and enjoy!
Oozing frog cake pops

For the frogs
Candy Melts (you can get the color of your choice I used black)
Cake (I used King Arthur’s GF Chocolate cake mix but you can use the mix/flavor you like or use a remade store bought cake)
Vegan version
Vegan chocolate chips
Strawberry preserves
For the green ooze
1/2 c coconut cream from can (full fat not light)
1 bag of white candy melts
A little drop of green and yellow food coloring gel
Melt candy melts in microwave for 30 seconds at a time, stirring each time until melted.
Drop melted chocolate into mold a teaspoon at a time and spread chocolate evenly on the bottom of frog mold. Make sure you get the chocolate thick enough to hold the cake without cracking. You don't want to be able to see the plastic mold through the chocolate, so I coated until I no longer could see through the chocolate.
Put in the fridge for 5 minutes until hardened
In the meantime make your cake pop mixture.
I made a whole box of cake but only used about 6-8 cupcakes and still had a lot left.
Place baked cake/cupcakes in large mixing bowl (make sure it's cooled if you recently made it)
Drop in frosting 1 tablespoon at a time and using your hands mix in the frosting and smash cake together until it is only slightly crumbly but not mushy.
To make the ooze:
Microwave a 1/2 cup of full fat coconut milk from a can until bubbly
Pour over 1 bag of white chocolate candy melts
Stir until melted
Add a small drop of green and yellow food coloring until the desired color is reached
Back to the Frogs:
Take frog mold out of the fridge once hardened
Add 1 teaspoon of green ooze to the frog mold
Then press cake pop mixture into the frog mold (I added WAAAY too much - still turned out but you don't need very much cake mixture)
Then top off with melted candy melts or vegan chocolate and spread evenly
Place in fridge for 10 min or until chocolate is hardened
Spider Web Layered Dip
(I didn't use one inspiration for this - there were a million to choose from on Pinterest since this is a pretty popular spooky dish)
9.5in pie dish
1 can refried beans
2 containers Tofutti sour cream or a large container of dairy sour cream (you just need enough for the layer of sour cream and the spiderweb)
1 packet taco seasoning
Salsa
4 Avocados
3 Limes
1 Tbsp Jalapeño juice (optional)
Toppings:
Lettuce
Tomato
Green Onion
Black Olive

All Saints Day / also Dia de los Muertos runs two days, one for the adults, one for the children. Okay NOW we can start to morph into Thanksgiving (turn the Jack-o-lanterns around to become pumpkins etc etc etc

For the spreading effect that you wanted in the dip I would try some crema its much smoother and thinner! There are vegan recipes for it too

Next time you are adding something to a piping bag, put the bag in a glass with the edges pulled down around the glass. Then you get it all in there easy peasy!

Garlic is my saving grace on everything, I swear ( Italian here, so garlic is literally everywhere. Like olive oil. XD) I swear one day when I finally get invited to Halloween parties I'm definitely gonna try my hand with some of these dishes! They're amazing!

These were cute! Halloween is my fav! Last year I made bloodshot eye deviled eggs, witch finger pretzels, broomstick cheese and pretzels with chive wrapped around the cheese, homemade skull pizza pockets and brains cupcakes. My cake pops were a total fail. I used too much frosting and it was a disaster.
I just bought the candy corn, peanuts, and m&m’s. I just need the cashews to make this trail mix for this year. I hope it turns out good. I love all four separately and can’t wait to try them together on Halloween.

Loved it all! Next time it will help to freeze the cake pops in the mold before spreading the chocolate on the top! 😊 you can also gently heat the edges and underside with a torch or lighter to re-melt and smooth it 😁

From one Libre to the next that looks absolutely spooky love your recipes I actually had some silicone ice trays that I purchased last year some bats some skeletons some brain molds and he actually did Minnie pop versions of the ones you did for the frogs

Just a little hint ! If you decide to do the ooze frogs this year, to take off the extra chocolate around the sides you can take a candle or torch whatever you have with a flame and heat up a knife and run it around the sides and it will melt off the excess chocolate and make it smooth and “pretty” ! ☺️
Add some raisins to the mix for moisture. Sounds good.
Less of a cooking video, more of an assembly video XD
To make sour cream more liquidy add milk (or milk alternative)
Or buy mexican sour cream (if you’re not dairy free) it comes in a glass jar and it’s already more liquid than normal sour cream.
