I've owned both masticating and centrifugal juicers, but I didn't know a stream juicer was a thing until last year when I saw Becky from Acre Homestead use one

Great and informative video! Thanks for including a few extra details such as sterilizing the tube with the first bit of hot juice. Awesome!

I really enjoyed this video. Now, I know for certain, I can make grape juice using my Omega masticating juicer. I know it's not going to be the prettiest, but, I agree with your daughter, it will be the healthiest. A little pulp never heard anybody.😊

I would like to see how much of what you get from the steam juicer is water, and compare to cold pressed masticating juicer.
Would anyone know the difference in volume?
Great video thank you for creating it

Finally someone is showing this type of juicer = My biggest 2 question’s are 1= where did this thing originate from 2= why didn’t this thing become as popular as canners did
Bottom line I love mine & it’s just as important as my pressure canner

No need to sterilize steam juicer tube, no need to serilize jar caps just wash them, you can wash jars with dishwasher and all juices preserve atleast a year. If you want to preserve them longer then you need to do all that stuff. We have preserved juices for many years like i told and everything is fine as long as caps stay closed.

No need to water bath them after juice is inside jar.

@@CountryLivingExperience Also it's better to store them at cold cellar not at warm room. If there is some mold on juice then don't drink it.

What do you think about the press. I like to use the press myself. Then we take the pressed fruits and make jams.

I actually really wanted to get one of those. The reason I didn't buy one is because all in my price range ($300+) had horrible reviews about the quality and craftsmanship. They almost always broke or didn't squeeze the fruit.
Where did you get yours? Have you had any issues with it?

  • @zracer1099

I feel the steam juicer is better because I have apple trees and I don’t spray anything on them, so bugs get to it. I try to cut out the bad areas, but I feel at least the heat from the steam juicer is sterilizing the bugs I missed. Lol. 🤷🏻‍♂️

    Have a question for you.
Do you know anything about the manual pressure juicers and how they compare to what your using? The ones I've seen were barrels that you fill up with fruit, then place a lid on, and screw them down to press the juice out of the fruit.
I was looking to grow a bunch of dwarf fruit tree's (banana, orange, apple, cherry, lemon, and lime.) while waiting for the larger tree's to start bearing fruit. And I want to juice the fruits, then see if it's possible to dehydrate the left over fruit flesh.

I actually really wanted to get one of those. I may still. The reason I didn't buy one is because all in my price range ($300+) had horrible reviews about the quality and craftsmanship. They almost always broke or didn't squeeze the fruit. I was disappointed in the selection and didn't have $2000 for a professional one.

Oof yeah that's a good reason not to get one.
I was gonna try to make a replica of one I'd seen on another homesteading channel (self sufficient me (IIRC)) it's a base plate, long bolt through the bottom, and a top plate.
Then the sides were 1x2's or 1x3's that were about 1/8th an inch apart, then a handle that mounts to the bolt on top that you can tighten down.
But I wasn't sure how it would compared to the juicers that you had reviewed. (trying to get the most juice and the least damaged fruit flesh possible.).

I think we tasted the juice from the last part of the process when there was more water in it so it became diluted.
