- On our small farm, we have a diverse collection of antique Farmall tractors, originally made by the International Harvester company. We use these tractors every day, and love repairing, restoring, and working with them. In this video, I give you a tour of our Farmall tractor collection and show the tractors in use, including a Cub, Super A, Super C, H, MD, 504, 656, F-20 and McCormick Deering 10-20. I also explain some of the features that make each tractor unique, and give some tips for buying a tractor for your small farm.

Completely agree!
Thank you for saving those old American tractors!
We love your videos here in Kentucky .
love the old farmalls, dad farmed with a M when i was growing up. he also had a farmall regular that just set so when i was about 12 i pulled it out and got it running and helped around the farm with it doing hay, plowing and cultivating.
I absolutely LOVED IT when you explained about sentiment involving tractors. I have my Grandfathers, then Fathers, and now my '51 M. I also have my Fathers JD 720, and what you said rings true. Economics trumped by family values!
Wow, a 656 Hydro. I don't know anybody still using one of those where I live. The hills were too steep for them around here and people tried to plow with them. They were all scrapped by the time I came around. (37 years ago). It's great to see one still working.
There's quite a few still in use around here. Gear drives are definitely more common though. I'd probably be running a gear drive if I had to do tillage with it.
Because of the mechanical losses a hydro has they don't pull nearly as hard as a gear drive 656. For pto work they're great and as he stated, that one spent most of it's days on a sawmill
Hi, I'm a 17 yr old farmer from Ireland and your videos contain a lot of invaluable information regarding profitability of small farms, (although US and Irish agriculture differ a lot). I would love to go down a similar route to what you have done ie, selling direct to consumers. I'm not on a big farm and have about 30 acres to start on so finding a niche, like organic, grass fed beef, would be needed in order to make it sustainable and profitable. Seeing you do it makes me think it's possible, so thanks for all of your videos.
Daire

My dad always says the Cub was used to mow golf courses back in the day. He had one the same year as yours (I can tell by the grille and whatnot), he had it for 30 years. I learned to drive on it.
Awesome piece of tractor history i own a 46 farmall A and 51 M they are fun to work , fun to work on and a piece of American history.
For a bunch of Farmalls, you got a really nice collection. I really like your F20 and your 10-20!
Real good video on the variety of tractors and the years. I am a a real IHC fan grew up with them ,super WD9 superWD6 superMD superA 560 diesel 806 diesel all great tractors of their time!👍
That is a great lineup David. Super WD9 is a beast! Very rare around here.
When I was a kid ('60s and '70s), my dad had a 12 hp Massey-Harris Pony, and we worked 10 acres of hard clay with it. I walked many a mile behind an old horse drawn breaking plow, and we had a section of spring tooth harrow and an old cultivator. We raised tomatoes, sweet potatoes, and other truck patch vegetables, and I sweated enough to fill a pond. Wish I still had the old gal...
It occurred to me recently, that a review of all your tractors and their uses would be interesting. After watching this video, it occurred to me that I had already seen it. Memory, appreciate it you younguns!
My grandpa had an old farmall c tricycle with cultivator undercarriage that was hand crank and 8n Ford that's how my love old tractors got started.
That f20 is just beautiful
This video made me smile....you are 100% right....be happy!!!
6 months ago only 10,000 subscribers......now 79.2k. wow keep up the great work love the videos
You are one of the best at explaining technical information in a way that that anyone can understand that I have ever seen. Thank you for your videos and fantastic knowledge on these subjects.
I love the smell of those old tractors 💛
Back in the 60's when I oh 13 year old. on our 40 acre share cropping farm our Farmall was a B, man what a working mule.
As a boy on my uncle's 100 acre farm in the early '60's I would spend my summers. I remember him being in love with his McCormick W4 tractor. Pleasant memories.
You got a nice collection of old iron and its nice to see them being used. I loke my old iron too ,ive got a 1940 ford 9n, 58 massy ferguson 65(gas) and a 69 case 580ck backhoe and they all are being used on my upnorth property making trails, dragging tree up for fire wood or for my saw mill.
Hail from Washington State….enjoy hearing about IHC equipment. Thanks 👏🏻👍🏻
Your right 🚜 👍 old is always better.
Collecting tractors never hurts! I have 17 or 18 lol
Hi David, you better check; it could be 20 or 25...these old tractors have a tendency to multiply.
Super C tractors ran entire farms at one point in time. Love the 504 loader 👍
Hi FF! Isn't it amazing how the site of red paint can bring us all together? "Let's go, let's grow!" 😁👍👍
Love the tie of old tractors to the small farm!
"Hi, I'm Pete"
Pavlov says I have to hit the LIKE button now.
The F 20 was the first tractor that I drove when we moved to wyoming when I was 12,
Another wonderful video! I grew up in south Louisiana in the 80's and 90's. We helped different people that owned 30 to 500 head of momma cows (in exchange for hay for our horses). They had tractors from the 70's and earlier. Case, White, International, Oliver, David Brown, Massey, and there was probably a Ford amongst those well used tractors too. Your 650's remind me a lot of those tractors they used.
I stumbled upon your channel and am glad I did. Haven't been on a tractor since I was a kid in the sixties so I am sitting here with a SE grin on my face.
Amazing video thank you my grandfather would have enjoyed seeing your tractors!!
16:24 "The world's not always dictated by what's economically best." Well said.
Love the box on the front of the super c !!
Who would have thought a video game would have led to my love for old tractors. If I ever get enough money, I'm going all in on a small farm. Excellent video.
My oldest son is a red fan but I still love him.
Your video is very informative and your one heck of a mechanic. Thanks.
Fun to look back on this after seeing all the work you've done to restore some of them.
Thanks. Loved to hear that F-20 run. They had a sound of their own.
Excellent video , maybe you can do a series of videos on old tractors collecting , rebuilding them , maintaining them etc. Thanks super interesting
Enjoyed the tractor tour. Thank you.
I love seeing the old IH tractors!! My father worked for Harvester is entire career as a machinist. He could make anything. You and your father remind me of him. I love your videos and your information/education!! Keep the videos coming ❤️❤️😊

Pete is always enjoyable when you talk about all that old time equipment.
Thanks Larry! It's a subject I always wanted to do more videos on, but I didn't think the channel's audience would appreciate them. I guess that's changed now!
Enjoyed your videos. Love old tractors.
Very cool collection thanks for sharing it.
I inherited an IH 656 recently, in good shape. Still learning all the maintenance, but it's very useful around my property. Those old gasoline powered tractors can do a lot of work!
I'm just jumping on as a new viewer. Really enjoy what your doing.
Thanks for posting this, it was very calm and a great mix of info and story time.
i used to mow with an old cub cadet garden tractor at work which was hydrostatic and it used a lever like that.
Fun restoring old machines, making them useful again, keeping history alive
Thanks for showing us your tractors.
There always seems to be another Farmall hiding in a shed or under something outside. The old tractors are a very important part of getting the work done on a small farm without over capitalising.
Dave.
Yes sir! Always another fun project waiting in the weeds.

I have not seen anything yet that i did not benefit in some way from watching and listening to you. Just wanted to say thanks and love your channel!
The first tractor I ever used was a Farmall F-20. That was in the mid-60s. It's good to see one that still runs!

Love all the tractors!! Good video
I really enjoyed the history lesson on tractors. These old trucks and tractors were built to last long. Absolutely LOVE them! You should send video to Farmall, and show them your working tractor museum. Maybe they have some vintage parts to send you! You should also do a book or calendar of your tractors, with some history, and sell them to buy more tractor stuff!
Farmall is gone; they’re case IH now.
@@fantump00p3r4 that is kind of sad, to see an icon disappear
Great collection of vintage IH tractors and background knowledge.

IH Farmall's have a special place in my heart. Thank you for taking the time to post this video.
Me too Harold. The first tractor I drove as a kid was my grandfather's H.

Really enjoy your tractor videos !! keep up your videos THANK YOU !!!
I have done many thousand laps around a 100 acre hay field on a 1959 Ferguson TO-35 when it was pretty new. I love vintage agri-tin! Your collection is just takes me back.
"If it ain't red, keep it in the shed." My grandpa's very first tractor was a Farmall F-14 on steel wheels. (Probably because his rival brother got a John Deere tractor.) He later got 2 H's and 2 M's. My Dad even wrote International Harvester back in 1964 telling them about how reliable their Farmall tractors were and they sent him a beautiful all color photo catalog of EVERY item they sold. When Dad got home from the Army he used the money he'd saved up and bought a 706 diesel with an add on blower. It was quite a jump between it and the old inline 4 cylinder gas engines he was used to. Traded it 10 years later for an 856 that I grew up on along with an M and 400 that we still have. A few years ago Dad got the 1086 that he'd always wanted. I'd like to get him the 560 he wanted as a teenager.
RIP International Harvester. You were a great company that became like part of the family as one tractor was passed down 3 or 4 generations in the same family. They overproduced tractors during the 70's and the agriculture economy was awful the entire 80's decade. Things looked on the up and up for them during the early 80's but a worker's strike was the final nail in the coffin.
Great story Tom! My Dad ran the first 560 in our area on a neighbor's farm when he was in high school, and has loved them ever since.
Love your videos! Please keep them coming!
