What an incredible story. I am a self taught Watchmaker, who has been repairing pocket, watches, and watches for the past 15 years. It all started with a dive watch that just wouldn’t work, but I purchased well in engineering school in Canada. I really appreciated your story as my story started in my late 40s, with the same passion, and understanding the world of watchmaking
I've been pondering a change from my current career in trucking to watch making. Thank you for such informative videos. I know the direction I need to go!
Thank you Cameron for letting us take a peek into your world. You are truly inspiring. I wish for nothing but your continued success. Thank you for being one of the few bringing timeless watchmaking back to America.
Thank you so much, Shaun.
Over 50 years ago I was taking watches apart. Always wanted to be able to make one. A couple of decades ago I got a 1906 watchmakers lathe. Now it is possible to learn how online. Pocket watch on a chain is the style I like.
Congratulations from Brazil. I like so much of your life history. A big hug!
I have been following your watchmaking journey for some years now and was very pleased to stumble across your CZcams channel. Thank you for sharing your story and passion. I hope to one day soon be a customer. :)
As an American Hand Engraver this just inspired and motivated me like no other. I love seeing now so many coming into my trade as well as watch making here in America. I hope one day to meet you in person and talk. Respectfully Paul.
Thank you so much for this series… I’m 22 and considering a career in watchmaking… I’ve always been so fascinated with watches and I always need to be tinkering… found myself relating a lot to your story and I have so much love and respect for what you do! I’d love to be able to come see y’all’s facility out in Nashville sometime! Best wishes to your company from Houston!
Go for it!
Well done Cameron, it is a great profession, you and other like watchmakers like you give me hope that mechanical watchmaking will survive at a human level.
So glad I found your channel! God bless you and your business!
Thank you so much
Fantastic stuff. I can feel the passion you put in each time I glance at my black dial 42.
Thank you so much. I am really glad you are enjoying it.
Thank you for sharing your watch journey. It was enjoyable. As a watch enthusiast, I will buy a watch from you in the near future. Continued success.
I didn't say in my previous comment that your past & present podcasts have been a huge contribution to the preservation of watchmaking knowledge. Thank you! I have taken voluminous notes that I refer back to.
Thanks for listening. I appreciate it!
Great series! Thanks for doing these, Cam.
More to come!
Absolutely inspiring. Thank you for sharing your story and your passion.
Amazing story. Keep the videos coming, sir. I am an aspiring watchmaker that will, hopefully, be able to take a tour of your workshop soon. I will be in Nashville very soon but I understand that you guys are doing some sort of “onsite filming”. Which is great! You are an inspiration and I hope to get my hands on that Standard Issue Diver some day
Thank you! Recording more of these for you
Cameron, love it! I love how your family made it all start! Fantastic journey! And now you live around some fantastic music as well!
Thanks so much!!
When you pulled up the watch with the photo inside, that was pure gold. ⚡️⚡️🤌
I commend you for the quality and detail in all aspects of your life. It will serve you well. I hope to get one of your watches on my bench one day. It would be an honor.
Thank you!
Are you making your videos man?, their great!❤
Yes we are. Thank you! Andrew Reed does all the production, filming and editing.
What a great story. Congratulations

Another fantastic episode Cameron. I loved hearing about your start making the first watches in the dining room of your apartment! I’m really enjoying this series and am looking forward to the next episode.

Been following you and your brand for a long time

Thanks!
Well done video on many levels. Good story, I hope it inspires many young . . . . and old alike.
I hope so too!
great story thanks !! i am trying to become a watchmaker in holland and its a hell ???
Amazing
Thanks
You have such interesting videos. A dumb question: when you tell people you're a watchmaker, you say they're blown away. Do you mean they're impressed? Or do you mean they distance themselves? (or both). Thanks!
I loved the casio story
So glad
With your goal of restoring watchmaking to the U.S., how much documentation are you creating to preserve knowledge? I'm thinking of the details that historians will be discussing 50 or 100 years from now. Has anyone been writing the history of the Weiss Watch Company as you go along? Would a history include the "C.Weiss" watch you created in Florida about 2010? In 2123, someone on the NAWCC forum will be asking how to date an American Issue Field Watch they inherited.
Hi, your video really resonates eith me and I can relate to most of what you've shared. I've reached a crossroads in my life where I'd like to pursue my passion for mechanical watches. I'd like to make my own. I appreciate I'll have to complete certification to know what I'm doing, but in the meantime, I'd like to get started on fitting out my workshop over time. Therefore, I was wondering if you would share a list of equipment and machinery I'll need to get myself off the ground once I'm certified. Is there any way I can reach out to you via email? Kind Regards, R
Your coffee machine is almost as complicated as your CNC machines.
Who paid for your watch schooling?
Swatch Group gave me a scholarship and then I used my personal savings to support myself through the program and buy my tools.
At the beginning when you park your Land Rover, do I hear you grinding the gears? Shame! 🙂
Might be, it needs a new slave cylinder right now. Time is in short supply even though my workshop is filled with watches!
@@thewatchmakersworkshop I understand! My boss and I had to drive a 27-ton truck for six months (mostly freeway) without using the clutch pedal until we had time to replace the disintegrated throwout bearing.
Most fall into a job by accident, many have a career by way of a degree, some follow in the footsteps of family and then there are those born to be special.
You sir are of the latter quality.
If the American Dream had a poster, your picture and story would be prominently displayed. 🫵👍🍻
Thank you so much. I really appreciate this.
