I just had Roland make a watch for me. He custom made me a watch, 1 of 1. Great dial engine turned, finishing work front and back is wonderful. Being left handed he make it so I can wear it one my right hand. Love his work, I would highly recommend anyone if they want something special talk to Roland. Yes, you will be able to talk to Roland.
Wish CZcams allowed pictures in comments, I’d love to see it! Congrats!
Congrats, that’s really cool
Please post it and share a link
Curious how much something like that would be. I’m sure people would be interested to see it if you posted a video/picture on your channel.
Dang, how much did that run ya lol
The best episode I think I have ever watched on this channel. No marketing guff, just history and enthusiasm from one of the greatest watchmakers alive. I hope you have Roland Murphy on again to pick his brain further.
Agreed. The best I've seen too. No Mr. Wonderful strutting his importance with stolen FTX money. This episode is about watchmaking, pure and beautiful. I bow to Mr. Roland Murphy.
total agree.
If you pay attention to Teddies face and how much enthusiasm he has when listening to Rolands stories about his collection, you will understand why Teddy is the best in the Business. There is no fake emotions, just pure love and passion for the work he loves to do. This was a wonderful video and real watch enthusiast can really appreciate these types of videos. Not only expensive pieces matter nowadays. The story and the sentimental value of a watch beats any bling bling or overpriced hype watch im my book. Just Bravo on the video 👏
Teddy definitely found the thing he loves and now enjoys sharing it with others.
I'd love to see a bespoke piece made by Roland for Kirby Allison.
RGM was the only company that would even look at my Grandfather's Le Phare triple date chronograph with moon phase (Vajoux 88 mvmt I think) that hadn't run in years. They serviced/fixed it (making at least one part they couldn't easily source) for a very reasonable price. Did a great job and it is a great runner. I would love to purchase an RGM in the future.
First, a Diver. Now, a Watchmaker. I love how this is becoming a series. I can’t wait for the next one! Keep it up, Teddy! Great content as always!
Ready for part II…
I thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it.
This format is great! It feels genuine, humbled and unpretentious.
You can see Roland’s passion for horology. Such a gentleman..
Perfectly said!! Thank you Teddy!! These segments
make my day!!!
Murphy is hands down the top dog of American watch making. That he’s also a class act and any one of us can call him on the phone and he will actually be the one we talk to, you just can’t experience stuff like that anymore.
Videos like this are why I love Teddy’s channel. Other channels seem to be all-Rolex, all-the-time. Teddy takes us into cool finds at all price points.
Totally agree. His content is intended for true watch enthusiasts.
As someone who has several vintage Hamilton's and other vintage American wristwatches and pocket watches it doesn't get any better then this. I have been a big fan of Roland for many years and keep tabs on what he is doing. A segment on his favorite RGM creations would be a delight! His Pennsylvania Tourbillon is amazing. Thank you!
I’ve known Roland for quite some time and own several of his watches. I can’t say enough good things about him. The watches of his I own are all incredibly beautiful and functional. So I say hooray to Roland and keep up the great work. You truly are the greatest American watchmaker
That repeater (and the story behind it) is wonderful! What a great interview!
Not a single Rolex. This guy is awesome!
This is FASCINATING, and reignited my love of the craft. No brand-name financial bragging, just history and passion. I'm excited to put on my Hamilton in the morning.
Please do more videos with him go back as many times as he'll let you in till you've gone through his entire collection it would be awesome great video
My 3 generations of watchmakers who worked at Hamilton in its hay day would be delighted that there are still significant segments of American watch craftsmanship alive in the Lancaster area.
It was great to see the old Bowman Technical School building in Lancaster reopen as a Hamilton boutique, too!
Man I'd love to see more watchmaking come back to the US in a big way.
I really need an RGM. They were always the next watch for me and I’d forget for awhile. I think I need to pull the trigger. Teddy, thanks for showcasing such a unique talent.
That was, fairdinkum, one of the best most interesting show & tell discussions I have had the great pleasure of viewing in quite a while.
And what a collection! Some of the rarest & most beautiful horological pieces ever made.......Would that we could see the rest of Roland's collection......One to be envied I am certain.
Thanks Teddy & Roland.
Hearing the Vacheron chime in the mic made me stand still. Amazing interview! Sharing the video with friends now.
Teddy, this felt genuine, heartfelt and thoughtful. Well done man. "Talking Watches" could learn a thing or two from you. Nice work!
These one on one interviews are very interesting. Not only because of the great time pieces, but also the insight into collectors and craftsmen.
This was so great. Thank you. It's so wonderful and refreshing to hear someone with that knowledge explain these genuinely interesting pieces. More of this, please, and no more of the Hodinkee-style videos of celebrities showing off their clichéd parade of Rolex and AP references.
Unfortunately, those 2 are pretty much the only brands most ppl know. Met a self-proclaimed 'watch enthusiast' not too long ago who's never heard of Longines, JLC, Zenith, and quite possibly the rest....😅
Roland is a world-class maker and I love his pieces. His Pennsylvania series 801 is one of the most gorgeous dials I have ever seen.
I appreciate the story behind every watch.
Definitely enjoyed this Teddy! Your content is so varied and genuine. I was so pleasantly surprised and excited to see this video with Roland, a true master watchmaker.
Love this type of content! Congratulations and thanks, Teddy!👏🏼👏🏼
What an amazing man could literally listen to him all day. More please
Wow, what a collection! A meaningful story behind each piece. Great work, Teddy
Your RGM and professional watch collection videos are some of my favorite videos that you've done. This is an absolute treat!
Great talk with a very down to hearth, yet passionate man. Teddy, I appreciate how you give space and time to your guest. You have a very respectful way of doing an interview.
THE most delightful episode... EVER!! Absolutely splendid Teddy and all power to you Mr Murphy, you are indeed, very, very special......... MORE pleeeeeze.......
I immediately clicked when I saw the title! I've been obsessed with RGM ever since you released the other video of his shop!
More of this series teddy. These are fun.
Your best episodes are these stories of real men collecting real watches. Honestly, I cant stand a 15 minute watch review. Time is precious for me. But when someone sits and story tell that is time will spent for me. Keep this coming. Thank you.
What an incredible collection and such a humble guest. Great content, looking forward to seeing more of Roland's watches!
Absolutely wonderful to see true watchmaking in the US. I hope to be able to afford one someday.
Absolutely fascinating! I could keep watching this for hours! Thank you for sharing this!
What an amazing interview. Thanks Teddy and thank you Roland! I really enjoyed this one.
This is one of the best episodes from any watch related channel ever. Just pure interesting, amazing content presented in an entertaining way. Thanks to you and you team Teddy. I hope to see more of that. Please make it a regular format and series. 🙏👍🏼 Special thanks to Roland 🙏⏱️
Wow. Roland reminds me so much of my late father. What a great guy and wonderful watch collection! Thanks for this one Teddy.
This is one of the best videos you've made in my opinion. Educational and inspiring at the same time. Be great to have Roland Murphy and Roger Smith together in one video. Take care and I enjoy your content.
This is why I love watches… best video yet Teddy. Fantastic thank you to you both!
We appreciate what you doing for us enthusiasts Teddy. Thanks for this showcase.
Finally someone is highlighting the work of RGM. These ARE the finest American made watches out there. The level Craftsmanship is unrivaled.
The legendary RGM. I live half a way across the globe from them and still used their services and heard about them a year or two after I've entered the hobby. Nice to see the face behind it all. Thanks Teddy for another great episode.
Wow Teddy, great job getting this interview! RGM makes some amazing stuff and I _really_ hope he inspires more people to set up shop here in the US. I also love that he gets the recognition from collectors that he does, he is certainly revered by the collectors that know him and his work. And I NEED an RGM in my collection, I would be very proud of that.
Teddy, lovely work. I love your passion, your super work for watch lovers. Keep it up. Thank you.
What a collection. Thanks for featuring Roland again!
Great to see American watch making! Thanks teddy and RGM!
Amazing interview Teddy, Roland has such a meaningful collection, great pieces on top
Excellent segment. Straightforward and all business. This man is a living legend. Thanks for a smart interview Teddy.
Excellent - Thanks Roland and Teddy. A second video would be appreciated. He is so humble.
That was one of the most enjoyable presentations.
Thanks.
Thank you for this video. I can't recall another video that piqued my interest like this one. Would love to see another one and keep up the good work.
This guy is a living legend. Thank you so much for interviewing him again!
I could watch 2 hours of this. Amazing, glad you're able to help tell these stories.
A very classy video Teddy as befits you and us! Would love to see more of Roland and his stories! Keep up the great work!
That was a super nice episode. Thank you!
Another fascinating interview. Thank you Teddy
That Hamilton Cased Chrono with the RGM movement is very interesting. I serviced a Hamilton for a client a year or so back with this exact same case, but with an ETA7750 movement assembled by Hamilton for LL Bean. So cool.
Wow! what an incredible video! I live inb PA, and am proud to know RGM is here too
Excellent! Have always admired Roland’s watches but really enjoyed seeing his watch collection too! Do more, please.
I can not express adequately the amount of fascination and awe in the gentleman's watch collection nor can i express how wonderfully thin the dial hands are in the first pocket watch he displayed. This is truly craftsmanship at its finest. I can not imagine the intricacies of the interior watch mechanisms. BRAVO AND KUDOS to the watch maker. Here is a craftysman that appreciates other craftsman's works. WOW
Another master piece of a video. Excellent job Teddy I appreciate what you do man. Best regards.
Always an interesting episode when RGM is involved. He seems a truly nice and genuine person and is a treasure trove of watch/pocketwatch history. Oh, that VC pocketwatch was to die for!
Fantastic content, loved this unique episode and would love to meet more master watchmakers.
Yes! RGM getting some much deserved respect and recognition.
Amazing collection, love the VC minute repeater and the Flightmaster! another great video
Congrats! This video was amazing, a true piece of American history.
A very interesting presentation. Great to see a true craftsman and feel his passion.
Wow, some absolutely phenomenal watches. I particularly love the 801 Corp Of Engineers watch. I always loved those old war watches! If I had $13k to blow I would absolutely buy that watch. But OMG, that Dudley Masonic watch is stunning! I've never seen or even heard of that before, but I love it!
Outstanding man and a brilliant interview, you were like a kid in a sweet shop, thank you Teddy
Thanks Teddy. Great interview.
I really enjoyed watching this . Thanks Tedday for the excellent continent and for Mr Murphy for sharing the amazing stories . Top notch content
Really like these interviews, Teddy! 😃
What history, knowledge and heritage. Unbelievable video to watch, never change teddy
Roland is truly America's greatest watchmaker. I cherish the time that I've spent talking watches with Roland
Fantastic video, keep this kind of content coming!
Amazing...Murphy and RGM are pretty much at the top of my favorite "indie" watch brands, and far-and-away my favorite American manufacture. And yes, I'd certainly savor a revisit on your part. Fantastic presentation again, Teddy.
I for one, would love to see and hear more from Roland. Great video!
Such a great set of stories. Please do it again!
Great episode! Please have a part two soon! Loved it.
Absolutely fantastic episode! You have to come back and do more!
Amazing. Required viewing for my students this semester.
Always great story telling on this channel
17:26 phenomenal piece with a great story behind it
This is a really interesting video. I really enjoyed the selection of timepieces. Thank you ! Much admiration for Roland's talent. Please do another video with Roland.
So many cool stories! this is fantastic! More videos with RGM for sure!!
Never clicked on a video so fast, great work from Teddy and the team as always!
Excellent and very interesting video. I enjoy watches and learning about them and this video certainly contributed to this. Thanks.
We need a series with Roland, this made me want to go be his understudy!
great video....more like this please. no fluff no sales, just a guy that loves his watches.
Would love to see and know more about Roland Murphy's collection! Amazing video
What an interesting interview, thanks Teddy
Teddy you made some great videos and I really love the history of watches and watch making you take us on. But this video was the Grand Slam ! Roland is a genius.
I wish RGM would come out with 1 affordable watch (around the $1,500-$2,000 price range). I, (and I think many, many others) would definitely buy one.
I would agree totally. Am pretty sure you can get a truly outstanding Seiko watch for a grand which are just as good.
@@johnmartin7158I think Seiko is good, but comparing them to RGM quality is a slap in the face...
Superb interview, wish another great one will come soon! 👌❤️👍
A continuing series? Yes, please!
"I don't like faux things..." best line ever.
They really do not make things (even watches) like they used to. Watch manufacturers are are moving towards non-serviceable movements or even completely disposable watches.
There is always good quality available. You just have to pay for it. People whining about quality now that they wouldn't be able to afford in the past is the new complaint of whiners.
Great show! Great collection! Great watchmaker!
I really enjoyed this segment. It's nice to get the inside story on the inner workings. Next time you visit him, maybe you can have him show us the tools of his trade, and show us how he works and things are made.
Great show. Thank you
