Children who got made fun of usually grow up being really self-conscious and care about their looks and the way they dress. It's an insecurity issue. Girls who wear lots of makeup don't do it because they're 'slutty', they want to feel pretty and it makes them feel good and confident. I can speak for this. I got called ugly so many times as a kid and I can't find myself going out without makeup now. I wish people would stop judging others based on their character and decisions in life. I love you Arika
Your draw my life proves you can't judge a book by its cover. What we see on CZcams suggests something totally different than what you are behind it all. I never realised we have so much in common!

Never judge a book by its cover. While most of you judge her, call her names, etc. LOOK, she has a bachelor's/masters degree. She has a brain. Never let the cover of a book tell you the whole story before you read it in its entirety. You go Arika Sato

Thank you for being so open and honest. I myself was in an abusive relationship when I was 21 and it was the darkest,most isolating time in my life. It took many times,but I did finally leave him. I remember crying saying that I felt like I've gone completely crazy. Someone told me,"you're not crazy,to abuse is crazy,it can make you feel crazy not because you are but because the person doing it has to be" sounds silly,but it gave me some closure. It takes courage to share so publicly so thank you

I watched your videos about Undergrad, Grad school, and then this one. I was watching them because they seemed interesting and relevant to my life, but I did not think I would be left off feeling inspired! I was feeling down lately because of school and thinking about the future was stressing me out. It is so similar how our lives were, because I am from Torrance too, attend UCSD, majoring in communications as well. Thank you for your videos, not only are they fashionably inspiring, you inspire me to become a better, hardworking person. Just wanted to let you know that!
