I think your first advice is the most important one. You have to start somewhere even if it’s a rough start. I believe it’s actually really good to start with selling single cards even if they aren’t worth much. It gives you experience and allows you to make the mistakes you need to learn from. When you finally get to the point of selling more expensive cards or packs, you most likely have discovered the cheapest and safest shipping methods that work for you. You have to build your own credibility if you actually want to sell card high value cards. Most collectors will pay a few dollars more if they know it’s a legit seller over someone with no reviews but slightly better price.
Absolutely, step one is the most important. Thanks for the comment!
Glad you are back! Great video! The editing needs to be smoother but I certainly like the attempt. The video is very entertaining and informative. Keep up the good work 👍🏽
Thanks Highlander, it will get better overtime! Really glad you enjoyed the video!
Been here since 500 subs. Love to see how you are taking this on and being genuine. Keep up the hard work, it makes a difference! Because of you I sold my first organized binder of vintage cards on eBay and made around $1200! Would love a video on how to handle taxes in a Pokemon business!
Thank you Dan! That is so awesome, I super appreciate the support. Also huge congrats, that's a big profit!
Great video mate👍 love the new editing and the hair cut haha 🔥
Thanks bro!
Great editing! Very informative video as well.
Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed it 😊
Thank u bro Frfr u make perfect logic on everything an it’s harder than we think
I'm glad it was helpful!
@@TheLabTCG can u give some good prices for bulk
I think the problem with buy low and sell high is that no one, and I mean NO ONE is willing to sell their cards for any less than market value these days. Everyone knows that there is possible money to be made, and they will make that money even if its just a random card they've found in their kids bedroom or something like that. I've heard people say that we need to buy cards low and sell them high, but how do we do that, and if we do that what is stopping our potential customers from buying from the people that supply us with singles? bc the only way you can get singles is through the secondary market so theres no business wall that separates the business owner from the average customer. Sealed is obviously reserved for the people that actually have businesses. If there is a secret to making money off of singles that I'm missing please tell me bc whe it comes down to it I'm a noob in this space. Overall I thought the vid was very helpful its just this one part was hard to grasp.
It definitely is a lot harder to make money today than it used to be. However, I still disagree. It takes a lot of perseverance and effort to sift through hundreds of no's to get to a few yes's. When you do good business and build an inventory pipeline, you can start to get consistent inventory without having to search for new clients. Answering this comment could be its own video, but in summary, it is definitely still possible to profit from singles in 2023.
@@TheLabTCG thank you for the response. Was very curious about this topic in particular but the video helped in all other areas. If you could make a video about this at some point that would be great. Would love to hear you talk about this in more detail. You have a new sub btw.
Bonus point, on the topic of analysis paralysis. Don't overthink, this business is very easy, very simple. Ask questions, but sometimes your questions are the result of you thinking it can't be that easy
Yes, it is that easy. Stop overthinking and just do it. I could train a small child to sell cards, that's how easy it is.
Agreed, good talking points!
Just found the channel. Loving the content!
Glad you enjoy it!
Let me know how you like the new editing and the video!
Great job broskie . Appreciate you
Need to hear your info on discounted stamps, very much looking forward to that video.
eBay you can buy forever stamps, people used pirate ship as well.
I got a roll of 100 stamps for 19. So 19 cents a stamp
Great content. thanks buddy. I'm gonna take your advice on not ripping packs. I've spent waaay to much in PSA and shipping fees. Could have made the same money with less effort just selling sealed wax.
Glad I could help! Opening packs is financially draining. Stay tuned for my next video where I prove it!
On tcgplayer, how does posting pictures of the cards work exactly? I notice that newer sellers with less than 100 sales tend to have pictures and sellers with 1k-10k and above do not. Is it just that its more time consuming to take pictures and establish sellers don’t care about it? Just curious as new sellers what your opinion? Great video btw on the top selling mistakes.
Yeah, new sellers usually use it, as it gives them a possible edge in sales, as you can't see what the cards look like on TCGPlayer normally. Established sellers usually don't care, it's a pain and if you're needing more than one card, it's annoying to add a bunch of pictured cards to your cart. I only use it if it's a vintage card and I know it's properly graded. Then you'll be able to mark up the price because vintage is seldom, graded correctly.
Personally I don't use photos, takes too much time.
As some one who is running a small Pokémon business/Side project and is making profit on their sales but has little to none experience with Excel what would your advice be Will?
Great question Joe, I would use some sort of accounting software or look up some videos about spreadsheets. Google sheets, Excel, and quip are great options for utilizing spreadsheets and there are thousands of videos online that teach these topics. Alternatively, there are various websites like Quickbooks and Wave accounting that offer bank and credit card integrations to keep track of all your revenue and expenses. The biggest thing is keeping track of your inflow and outflow of cash. The main reason I use spreadsheets is for setting up mathematical models to determine pricing for collections and break even price points. Therefore, looking up how to use mathematical formulas will be your best bet. I hope this helps!
Cover how to register sales tax exemption on online like tcgplayer.
Buying uncommons from my card shop and then making mystery bundles is something I aspire to do , the math just keeps MATHIN'!
Where there is a Will, there is a way!
Yessir! Wills unite!
I like your videos
Where could you even find someone selling their collection for 60% and under the market price? Alot of people sell their collection based on tcgplayer market prices these days. Lucky if u can even buy for 10-20% less
It takes a lot of work. Messaging people and negotiating is your best bet. It is 100% possible, but it is not easy.
Don't forget to report your sales to the IRS and take it into account on your expenses
This is also pretty important
Hi...I am from India.....Don't know where to buy Pokemon cards....Can anyone tell where I can buy online
feedback on edits coming soon!
Thanks man ❤
Just do it! Failure is growth in disguise!
Absolutely, just getting started is the most important thing you can do.
Banger!
Thanks goat 🐐
Or is it
😏😏
Where you been man??
Busy with work, I finally moved back to Maryland and am able to upload again!
@The Lab TCG For sure, glad to see you back man! Always like the information you have for us.
I don't understand the Paypal goods and services. As a seller, is this something I need for Ebay and TCGplayer?
No, eBay and TCGPlayer have built in seller protection. If you pay strictly through PayPal, goods and services allows you to file claims against the person you are purchasing from if anything bad happens. Think of it as insurance. The alternative to goods and services is friends and family. This gets around the paypal fee for G and S but gives you no purchase protection.
@@TheLabTCG Thank you for clarifying
HMMMM Substituting 9 with 11. 9/11. Are you hiding something, William?
