Brian Setzer has forgotten more chords than I’ve ever known. If I could absorb someone’s talent via osmosis I would want his. His tone, his style… love everything about his playing. He’s also managed to bring mostly forgotten music styles back into the mainstream not once but twice in his career at the most unlikely moments in time. Rockabilly (of course) in the post-punk new wave MTV era of the 80’s and big band in the alternative grunge era of the 90’s.
He’s the king!
@@DEATHRAYCAT tru dat! People think I’m crazy when I say he’s my favorite guitar player or that I think he’s “the best” but he’s an incredibly well rounded player. Jazz, rock, blues, rockabilly, western, swing… he’s got it all nailed down and tight too. He reignited my passion for playing when I got clean. He’s also the reason I own two beautiful Gretsch guitars.
@@attentiondeficitsquirrel7660 I LOVE Setzer. I've caught his big band a few times but never have seen the Stray Cats.
Anytime I see him play he always seems like he's playing on the very edge of his abilities (which are mighty) He doesn't hold back, takes chances, and just kills. One of the best guitarists ever!
I started playing because of him! Saw the stray cats in 2019 in switzerland and since then i wanted to play exactly the same! And now here i am

I’m in my small dusty trailer in the desert 🌵 with no heat and it dropped to just shy of freezing 🥶
Nico’s lesson this morning and my Blackstar 100 tube amp cranked up for heat, ha!
I’d like to think it’s my tube amp warming the place up but its more like my oven door wide open 👍on bake.
I usually don’t get baked first thing in the morning.

Hey man, found your channel today and have watched dozens of your vids already! I’m really crushing on getting a gretsch - seeing that g5410t rad rod in white was what started my guitar journey two years ago, but I can’t decide between that and a 5420t - any advice?
I love the finish on my Rat Rod, however the 5420s have a thicker body which I enjoy. It’s a tough one! I think the pickups are the same so it might just be your preference of finish! Go try them out if you can 😺
