well another on the list for when I invent a time machine...
if not just to see Chris take a bite out of his guitar live on stage:)
sleeping in my fire sounds fucking amazing!
I was lucky enough to be in the front row here in Dallas on this tour. Killer show!
@@johnnycombs4623 wow amazing you don't need a time machine then
Dio first for me.
Kick myself regular didn't see him.
I don't care how many people trash Chris Holmes guitar playing, I've always loved it, he's one of my favorite players.
Who trashes home guitar work...
Totally agree. In my top 10.
Hell Yeah!
Chris Holmes is a guitar God that sadly has a little bit of a drinking problem. One of the best players ever in my opinion. If he only plays one note, you can bet your ass that note will kick the shit out of you. Lawless and Holmes forever!!!!
@@chaswilliams4379 he is sober
This is THE definitive WASP lineup! What a show!
I reckon they're playing along with a recording......cause it's sounds too perfect to be a live sound.😏
@@thomasfarmer1730 they didn’t tho. They were just perfect
Totally agree. There was a true magic in that first lineup. For a brief, fiery moment, WASP was the best metal band on the planet.
I was there!..
Insane night.
Blew us away..
Best gig i ever went to. Bar none.
And im so happy to say i was there!! I was 18!! Great show
This is a MATERPIECE ......still have this on VHS 📼
Sell it to me !
I have it too
@Seto kaiba nah?
Badass 🤘🏼
W.A.S.P. in their prime -- I've got the VHS as well -- still sealed, haha! I always intended to open it one day, but then the internet came along...
Blackie Lawless is a metal god 🤟 a living legend. Wasp is for me one of the best metal bands of all times, the best song of Wasp is Harder Faster... 🤘
I have to disagree it's Animal "F*** Like a Beast".. Followed Closely by Hellion..
Obviously this is metal gold. Unrepeatable unforgettable times.
AMEN or LIKEWISE!
I was there.. and it was out of this world.
I love everything about this video (except the ass-less chaps!!!
those times from 81-1989 was the best
❤absolutely 💯 true
Classic concert...By far the peak of the band! Raw classic heavy metal!
Love Machine..still one of the very best metal songs ever written
Maaaaaaan, stfu.
Don’t be stupid.
Damn straight
Damn, ur actually right
Damn straight.
The call and response between the vocals and band in the chorus is so fucking cool
Caught these cats at rainbow music hall in Denver 86. BLACKIE LAWLESS Slightly out of control at the After party that night. To say the least.🤯 Great times.
Story please, what’d he do?!
@@scorpionsironmaiden He was giving and receiving oral to men and women both
Seriously the guy above me raised a good question what did he do?
I wanna hear the details too lol.
80's were reckless and more free and fun. Another era
Holmes & Piper Lead Battle in Sleeping In The Fire Is Frickin Top Shelf Guitar 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
RIP Steve Riley - thanks for the memories. All the best to your friends and family.
This album is a staple in metal.
That's the first live video of WASP i've ever watched and it's amazing
Probably the best WASP show on tape. Their earliest shows in LA may have beaten it, but as is, this is one of the greatest live performances by any band to date. The original line-up, (including Chris Holmes (AND Tony!)), could have taken over the world.
So right.
I was there and i was playing in a metal band in the uk at the time.
I never saw a better gig since.
This is the raw pure wild original root heavy metal by the Us heavy metal legends W.A.S.P. that we 1980s heavy metal generation loved and love to death!
When it's time for the music it's only 1980s heavy metal! 🤘🎸
Randy Piper & Chris Holmes best twin axe duo ever
They have a sound nobody can match! Love Them!
I love this show, all 4 of them in top form. This show captured W.A.S.P. in all they're rawness and brutality. There's a couple of these videos on CZcams but this is the best looking and sounding one, great video man, thanx!!!
87 live is better
I would give anything to see this live.
Fucking love W.A.S.P. !!
I did i was there. Was like £8.50 ticket.
I'vd sold one of my kidneys to be there
I love how they added the crowd cheering sound effect. Sounds like a Beatles concert.
just to remind us that it was live and not in the studio! :) All the bands did it with live albums.
The first time that I saw this band on tv,it scared the hell out of me.
The evil that they projected on stage was not human. It was ancient, primal.
They're playing over a recording, listen real carefully it sounds TOO perfect, they're are miming
Oh yes, you are absolutely right, I understand you well! If I had gone to such a concert when I was 20 years old, I would have been very scared and would not have understood anything.
Now I really love this show! Very cool music is combined with strong real emotions, passion, aggression, fun, without mercy for the audience. And with great dedication.
I think that fear appears because there is a fear of these strong feelings and emotions in oneself. When people are afraid of any part of themselves, that part becomes destructive.
Now these songs and this show do not destroy me, on the contrary, I feel a surge of strength, a desire to live and do something good.
That's why I love WASP. I think this is great art! This creativity can become psychotherapy))
(sorry for the mistakes, I wrote using Google Translate)
@@thomasfarmer1730rubbish. I was there and i was playing guitar in a rock band for over 4 yrs by then i was watching it all closely.
Live. I was like 20ft back.
@@thomasfarmer1730idiot.
Cutting the meat on the sawblade codpiece. God bless your wild heart Blackie
God bothering killed his music. Their recent soft Christian rock is generic and empty
WASP opening for Iron Maiden at the San Jose Civic Center was a religious experience. Went out and had Hellion tattooed on my arm the next day.
What a show! Wish I had been there! Too bad I wasn't even born at this point. Tormentor is one of my favorite W.A.S.P. songs ever along with Animal, LOVE machine, Blind in Texas and unpopular opinion: Helldorado!
I was there..
It changed me seeing that, i was playing guitar in a metal band in the uk at the time.
@@jonathansimmons5353 whoa!
I saw them on this tour. Anybody that seen a W.A.S.P concert always left wore out. They wrenched out every note and rocking the fucking place.
I'm listening to Sleeping in the Fire an hour before the ball drops on New Years 2023 🤘👍🎸🎉😎
Excelente W.A.S.P. ✨❤️✨🤘🏻👏🏻
To think next year this is 40 years old....
Crazy
Piper and Holmes are just on fire.
They were on fire that night , WASP will always remain one of the hardest rocking group of guys ever !..✓✓
I just saw them for the first time last night, and let me tell you. These guys put one Hell of a show. Blackie Lawless still sings like an animal.
Before the last song, Blackie confided in the audience that 2 1/2 years ago, they were having trouble getting promoters because they all thought the band wouldn't be able to sell tickets anymore. But the fans, through social media, proved them wrong. Last night, they played to a packed house. There were even a lot of young faces in the audience, mingling among the crowd of mostly 50 and 60-something-year-old metalheads. W.A.S.P. is still going strong into the 21st century.
I say, rock on you maverick bastards.
I was at the Atlanta show! Freaking awesome if Fu..ing rocked man🤘🏻🤘🏻👀💯🤘🏻!!
Nov 25!
He sounded great on this tour. I mean...he's doubling a pre-recorded vocal track, but it was a fun show nonetheless.
I was at the Vegas Opening Show. Epic, wish I could remember more of it though
Yeah a animal,doing playback lol
Better to call quits or gonna destroy is legacy quick.
@@Overlorde79 most pro bands use a backing track. Nothing new.
Absolutely Magnificent Masterpiece!!!
Man I am going to tell every body at the gym about your channel👍
One of the greatest hard rock shows ever!!!
I'm 5 rows back center/ holmes side!! 💪🏻🤘🏻🔥🔥🔥🎸
This is pure gold!
Randy's solos were so good. WASP remains great, but losing him left a hole that was never fully filled.
I personally think Randy > Chris. I like Chris, but Piper’s sound is more refined.
@@micway71 WASP has had some great musicians along the way, but that original lineup was really special.
@@geniusswitch agreed!!
Randy and my brother-in-law I used to work in the studio shortly after he left wasp.
Goddamn, recently really got into WASP, & i love how they represent the carefree attitude of the 80s, party hard, live hard
This was a hell of a show
I always said Blackie had one of the voices in Rock and Roll. How Pantera made it and they didn't always mystified me!
Well they also stopped playing for a while... also heard blackie is hard to work with. Also I love both band, although I prefer Wasp as im getting older, but you gotta agree that except with crimson idol wasp is pretty straight forward, once you've heard a few you get it
WoooW, thank you, you old Playboy, i had this concert on VHS Cassette, this was my first W.A.S.P. VHS, i was 10 Year old and after that, i have buy all Albums at that time, it was in 1996. I'm a big W.A.S.P. fan for so many Years.
Where are rock shows like this these days?
In the dust bin of history, Rock is dead, all we have is the classic Rock of the 60s, 70s and 80s.
Wow! Just mind blowing. any concerts like this thesedays? Don't think so, and there's no cellphone, no one takes photo, everybody enjoys like a beast surrounded by fire in hell screaming: it's hot, too hot aaaaand i love it!🔥🔥🔥
Today`s Wasp are waaaay toned down and no way near the 80`s Wasp....,-Blood, raw meat entertainment, headspin crazyness,no cheating and the crowd really get their moneys worth back then...
The greatest metal show of all time 🔥🔥🔥 Thanks for this video! This is probably the best quality of this video on CZcams 🖤
And now its 2022 oh man …
Chris Holmes' leather pants deserve a standing ovation of their very own 🔥
I would give my soul to experience all those bands live in the 80s and 90s 🥲 I’m born in the wrong generation
I was there. Im 56. It was a fuckin insane evening. The sound was clear and powerfull..
I remember like yesterday.
I never saw a better live gig.
W.A.S.P..always and I mean always Delivered the goods. This lineup is killer. Piper, Holmes,Riley (Richards on the 1st lp)and Blackie Lawless is absolutely unrelenting in this show in 84. BLOOD.AND RAW MEAT!!!😂♤●☆♤♡♤■□☆○~~
I love Blackie's raspy and raw voice, that's goes to top unique voices ever. Thanks for uploading fella! 🤘
Hmm, sounds like Noddy Holder from Slade to me....
Reminds me of KISS when KISS was raw, hungry and dangerous 1973-76.
I always said that WASP were the KISS of the 80s.
yeah now the "kiss" we have now is just old/frumpy lol
Piper - Holmes! What a guitar duo, the tones and playing just worked so fine, Blackie ruined that component in the band. Also Randys backin vocals are pure gold.
Fall/Winter 2022: 40th anniversary tour. Let's rock! Let's roar!
Another native American kicking ass
Not many people I grew up with knew Blackie was native when I told them.
WOW
So glad to find this again.
Outstanding Quality.
Many thanks for posting
WOW Randy Piper solo is BEST in the SLEEPING IN THE FIRE
The Best Line Up ⚡️🔥🥁🎤🎸👊💪😎🤘
The Gods you worship are steel
At the altar of rock 'n' roll you kneel
A slave who forever rocks
Is chained in the devil's locks
And slain by the bloody axe I wail
🔥W.A S.P.🔥🤘👹🤘🔥🔥🔥
Totaler Kult. Thx From Germany
I first got this as a bootleg on VHS in a shop in Seoul Korea back in 1986. Probably 5th generation dubbed. But, I loved it and watched it for years and years. What a great show. Vintage early WASP!
The Most diabotical classic metal show shown to mankind.
the best live captation of all the time ^^ Lawless the king !!
💯%🤘For me, they're the wildest heavy metal band I've ever heard. Defenitly blows my head up 💥
Live Iron, Chrome, Steel and Platinum at its finest! Totally raw and raunchy. Just the way we like it!
It is a well known fact that Slayer took a lot of their inspiration from early W.A.S.P.
🤘Awesomeness🤘
❤awesome ❤❤
Classic 🤘
This is Heavy Metal! WASP at its best!
AMEN or LIKEWISE!
❤️ Thank you for this video dude! Wasp Rocks! 🎶😎🤟🏾🎶
What a fucking band⚡⚡⚡✌🤘
BAD is my favourite song by them

AWESOME CONCERT
I saw this great band live for the first time three years later, at 22. Nov. 1986 in Hannover, Germany.
Had underestimated the band up to that time too!
Blackie looked ínsane with playing the bass, I didn’t really liked when he change to play guitar. The bass was his style 🤘🏼
I liked him better as a bassist also. He himself has said that he's not so good bassist in his own opinion but in my opinion he is AMAZING!!!
It definitely fits
@@Leon.16 He called bass "a tool of the ignorant"
@@westsidecater Well, I'm lucky that I play guitar also, not only bass. Then I'm not ignorant 😂. But if he didn't like the bass why did he play it in the first place? Before WASP Blackie played guitar, then he played bass for the 3 first albums if I remember correctly and then back to guitar. That's what confuses me

Soy de Thrash y Death, pero cuando escucho el solo de Sleeping se me pone la piel......es un solo inigualable con un sentimiento que pocos pueden igualar o superar.
Altos material esse bixo , abrir aquela gelada e bater cabeça 🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
Saw the electric circus tour in Edinburgh 1987 . Different world back then....
I started to know WASP through posters. I really like the image of a really violent WASP. When I heard his album, his music was different from other glam rock bands at the time.
I usually listen extreme metal ,and WASP is the best glam metal band ,the first album is one of my favourites
Pin-head had some of the best quotes of all times !!.....thats why i love him !!
I saw these bangers when they first came out back in 85 in Minneapolis.. Before their concerts were censored.. They Rocked hard and kicked ass for almost 90 minutes.. And those women they had were so fucking 🔥..
L.O.V.E. this concert!
Han pasado 40 años y siguen sonando brutales
As much as i love Randy piper, i like the band with Johnny Rod on bass more... I feel it gave Holmes more space to shine, and the back groove was way stronger...Johnny also gave some sick backing vocals
Fuckin Awesome, show the youth this is what Metal used to be!
Young people today think Taylor Swift is Heavy Metal.
24 carats heavy gold !
Glorious Time!!!
The most underrated 80s metal band
One of the great joys of my adulthood has been revisiting WASP as a player and songwriter. The first thing that grabs you is that Blackie is the most criminally underrated singer in the history of the Sunset Strip. I'm talking "give this man his back pay because this is bullsh1t"-underrated.
Next up; the material. So many of these riffs and arrangements have held up incredibly well over time. "The Flame" just fucking SLAMS and there's not one weak track in this set list. Writing a legit rock anthem is HARD, but WASP just cranks 'em out like oil changes at Jiffy Lube.
This Fabrício Gabriel is unbeatable... He has the best channel on YT.
Wasp is one of those bands I always wanted to see live, but unfortunately never got the chance to for whatever reason. This is the closest for me, love the pure energy from this show. Bought the video immediately when it came out. The only thing that bothers me, it did then and does now, it sounds and looks like a lot of lip syncing, fake playing and backing tracks. Regardless, the energy and pure rawness comes through for sure.
Saw these guys open for Maiden in 1985 at the Summit in Houston, Texas. Memorable show by both bands. Still have my shirt featuring Eddie as The Trooper, but as a Mexican soldier at the Alamo. Great times!
heavy fucking metal from Texas!
King heavy metal mantab boss
Seen this greatest lineup in Duluth Minn in 1984 .. not positive on Duluth , pretty FUK’D UP 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
handsdown the best line-up!
especially when the fans had the illusion of a band and not of a blackie-egoshow…
despues de ver este concierto me enamore para siempre de wasp
Damn I feel old cuz I actually saw this tour in Owens Mill Maryland... It was Metallica (Ride The Lightning) W.A.S.P. and Armored Saint (March Of The Saint) it was an all ages show in a tiny club that couldn't have held more than 500 people and it was on a Sunday at 2:00 in the afternoon! Now fast forward 40 years and I'm going to see W.A.S.P. on Nov 24th in Orlando and to celebrate the 40 year anniversary of their debut album they're gonna play it in it's entirety! Death Angel is the opening act I can't believe how life always has a way of repeating itself 😅
