    Thank you Ben for being you . I am so tired of all these CZcams evaluations being total BS . Very few people on CZcams actually give a true evaluation as they are pushing products for money , and are no longer being honest . I always appreciate someone who just speaks their mind and tells it like it is . In this new world of wokeness , it is refreshing to see someone not afraid to offend people with his opinions, and not pushing products for a paycheck . This is why I purchase your books and buy my guns from your Pro Shop whenever I can . Keep being you , and thanks for the review as I was looking at possibly purchasing this timer .

    The magnetic holder is obscuring the mic on SG timer. The beep is much louder if you remove it from the base.
    It might not work for your use case if you need the timer to be clipped to the belt, but I found it to be loud enough to run other shooters as an RO.

    • @tomkazakov
      @tomkazakov Před 11 měsíci +2

      @@SteveMiles yeah, I understand that. The point I was trying to make is my SG timer when not attached to the base is (subjectively, I didn’t measure it) as loud as AMG Commanders and CE ProTimers. And it’s louder than CED7000s we have.

    • @DaBigBR
      @DaBigBR Před 11 měsíci +2

      This is correct. The timer is significantly louder when it is not on the belt clip.

    If you take of the timer from the magnet part it will be louder. In my opinion one of the best timer I‘ve ever used. Just give it a second chance.

    In terms of hardware, firmware and software the Shooters Global timer is absolutely in a league of its own compared to the competition (my opinion as a professional embedded electronics engineer). The company behind it was also founded in Ukraine, and the timer is assembled in Poland, unlike most timers which is made in Asian sweatshops - so for the afformentioned reasons and political reasons I think it's the best option on the market. However, probably not the best for an instructor - more so for individual training and IPSC/USPSA RO's.
    I think the holder could be vastly improved if they made it so you slot the timer into a sort of holder, similar to how phone holder for cars are made to work - as anyone who has been running around with this on their belt can confirm that it will fall off the magnet holder, unless you secure it with rubber bands. Probably somthing that could be 3D printed now that I think about it, to attach to the existing magnet holder.
    Also, as others have mentioned, the buzzer is on the backside - so when it's on the magnet holder the buzzer will be attenuated a lot. If you hold it in your hand like an RO might do it will be louder.

      asian sweatshops is 30 years ago. These days, asia corners the microchip design and manufacturing markets. More like assembled & programmed in Poland. Just saying..

    • @Oysteims
      @Oysteims Před 4 měsíci +1

      @@ikeo1 Asia only has the semiconductor fabrication market with Taiwan and TSMC being the obvious market leader. As for semiconductor design the united states is the clear market leader dominating the semiconductor design market at >50 percent market share. Korea, Japan and the EU have a combined market share of around 40 per cent comparison. As for the industrial machines in the semiconductor fabs that actually produce modern semiconductors they are almost exclusively produced by ASML Holding which is a European corporation that have a quasi-monopoly on photolithography systems.
      So similar to most other industries, the factories are situated in asia (Taiwan and S-Korea mostly), the machines for the factories are produced in Europe and the Designers/Engineers are mostly in North-America.

    I can see the criticisms, particularly the speaker. It's definitely better suited as an individual timer than group. I do enjoy the extra features for dryfire practice and indoor shooting, I do hope they work on a better designed holder.

    For someone who is rough on gear, I would say try the Kestral KST1000. It has a ear blistering loud beep and is design to take a beating, Only down side

    PACT has always been my favorite. Simple. Only problem I’ve had is when the start button gets mushy after a while. Sensitivity kinda sucks to set as it’s in the battery compartment, but most people don’t have to adjust that
