He’s not smiling as much in 6 and 7, also not as sassy as before... more so in the film than the book. I feel being a Death Eater and mistreated by Voldemort must’ve shattered his whole worldview which he established his own values and egos completely, and leaving him with nothing to identify himself with :(

Frankly it is because for all his prejudiced talk during most of his time in Hogwarts, he himself never wanted to be a killer.
And he never truly hated Dumbledore the way a vicious killer would.
He is a prime example of someone who can't do more than express contempt for someone. He never could have went as far as murder or severe injury.
But when he was younger he didn’t really feel like he was the best; it was all an act. Other than Narcissa, he had NOBODY who cared about him. Other than Narcissa, he had nobody who gave a f*ck about him, let alone loved him. And in the books it’s mentioned that he was bullied by other students. Yes, he was a bully. But he was one bc of his insecurities and loneliness and being a victim of bullying himself and therefore projecting that onto others. And then when he was forced into Voldemort’s circle and to become a death eater it go SO MUCH worse
It breaks my heart cause he deserved better.

If you think about it, Harry and Draco were like two sides of a book; Harry was always the front cover, looked upon by anyone and everyone, while Draco was the back cover who had to live through Harry’s shadow- between them, an entire unspoken history. With each year at Hogwarts, the prestige that Draco had held due to his heritage slowly melted away as Harry’s presence grew. Draco sought the attention that he had never had the chance to receive. Can you imagine the philosophy of his character? First his father, and as soon as he was ready to step out and make a name for himself at school, Harry appears. He struggled with not having an identity, and in his desperation for one, was easily cornered by his parents’ expectations for him and the wall that was Voldemort and his Death Eaters. Just like a starved mouse, lured into a trap loaded with cheese. By the time he realized, it was too late. And yet, he had the tenacity to keep living and searching for a purpose he was led to believe didn’t exist. For Harry, it was the exact same, except in a completely different context.
So to the people saying Harry was the boy who lived/Draco was the boy who had no choice, you are wrong.
Harry and Draco was the friendship that never was, but could’ve been.

Man, I feel really sorry for Draco. Like first he starts to have a mental breakdown, then he gets slashed with a spell, THEN he is forced to kill Dumbledore or he is gonna die, then he has to witness multiple people die, flash foward 19 years later he gets married and has a son but his wife dies due to a hereditary illness, and despite him having a son that he cares about alot he is alone in whatever house he lives in because Scorpius, his son, is going to hogwarts. J.K really did not want him to catch a break

He was forced to do that because Voldemort Lucius messed up big time, he was supposed to help fix his family name-
He bragged about being a death eater
Because his family was prejudiced.
And because his family supported Voldemort.
And because he himself felt similarly somewhat before realising just how far Voldemort was going.
I think the scene where he considered giving Harry a place in his gang in the first film showed that he never could go as far as Voldemort, or even his parents for that matter.
i’m honestly surprised that harry potter is a “kids series”. during/after the war, almost all the characters have some level of PTSD and other mental issues. harry was literally horribly abused by the dursleys his entire childhood and for some reason the series just brushes over all of the trauma and deep-rooted self esteem issues that should’ve given him. after that, he also loses the only father figure he ever had (sirius) before even getting to know him. during the war, he sees his classmates, friends, teachers, all his loved ones, dying around him, and no doubt he blames himself for a lot of that. draco was raised his whole life with a horrible ideology drilled into his head, and as he grew he realized that what he has been taught his whole life was actually horrible and his entire identity crumbles and he doesn’t know what to do, all while voldemort is threatening to torture and kill him and his family if they don’t do what he says. he was clearly deeply conflicted and dealing with some serious mental stuff, but everyone still tries to paint him as someone absolutely horrible.
tldr: the characters in HP are seriously fucked up and no one talks about it ever

Isn't that real life though? People go through similar things around the world; parental abuse, some countries are also under war or conflict like in Harry's world. And 10 years ago mental health issues have not been talked about so much as they are now. So I think Harry Potter is in that sense a pretty realistic series that shows us things are not always peace, love and sunshine. It gives us characters we can identify with.

He was just a Grade A IDIOT to start fighting Draco like that without even trying to talk to him. That said, I agree with you regarding the fact that Harry shouldn't have used an experimental curse on Draco.

For people who are sad about draco, after Voldemort died he changed and started liking mud bloods. He got married to a girl from his school named Astoria greengrass, he liked her because she stood up for “mud bloods” or half bloods and went against everything voldermort was doing. He had a son named scorpious . He thought his son that everyone should be treated equally no matter who they are. And he is living happily with his wife and kids. So don’t be sad cause his life gets way better. He even becomes friends with Harry, Ron, and hermione. He is living a awesome life now.
He only lives with his son, due to the fact that Astoria died because of a blood curse. Oh, and he and the trio NEVER REALLY became friends. He RESPECTED them, but he never actually befriended them.

ok ok so I have this Malfoy oc and I kind of just wanted to share her.
So her name is Elizabeth Lyra Malfoy, and originally I was gong to have her first name be Lyra but I decided gong with Elizabeth bc I thought Narcissa would’ve wanted to name her something other than a constellation.
Anyways she’s two years younger than Draco and she’s best friends with Astoria. Like most Malfoys she’s in Slytherin and she really likes to pick on Ginny like how Draco picks on Ron.
Ok so for her story. I didn’t really put her in until like after the battle of the ministry. So after the battle and Lucious goes to prison I thought that Voldemort would have used her as a punishment to Lucius just like Draco. But instead of just receiving a suicidal mission she gets possessed by Voldemort and is basically his puppet. It’s not the Impirius curse though.
So she gets possessed by Voldy and bc of this she goes into a sort of depression state.
I had to think of some punishments that she would get and I came to this one idea that I liked. If Vildy every thought that she did something he would punish her by placing a curse on her that would only allow her to drink water. If she tried to eat then blood would start pooling in her mouth.
Moving on to her personality. Before Voldemort I thought that she would kind of a narcissist. She would always love to look at her self and held her self at a higher esteem than others. But after Voldy comes back I have this thing that whenever she looks in the mirror Voldemort will always be behind her in the reflection. So she would stop looking in mirrors reflective surfaces. Back to her personality, although she’s a narcissist she is sweet to her friends and can never work up the nerve to call a person a mudblood. After voldemort comes back though she looses herself to herself. She becomes robotic like and distant.
This is also kinda dark but she also is basically a sexy toy for Greyback.
Moving I have this moment we’re she’s gets put down by Ron and she runs to ravenclaw towers(she has friends in Ravenclaw) and proceeds to jump off but Ginny and Nevil go after her and save her.
Back to her story , during the battle of hogwarts she basically rebels against voldemort while gathering the slytherin who aren’t on his side to fight in the battle by taking a price of glass and running it through her dark mark. When she joins the battle and is looking for her parents she spits a death eater about to hex Nevil and she pushes him aside and takes the curse to her head. Nevil brings her to the infirmary were she is givin a potion that bums her whole body. About an hour after the battle she dies of her wound. I wanted to do this to show that everyone on BoTH sides were affected in someway.
