    Iv'e come back to this video over 5 times now. haha You mentioned a video on maintaining and improving the product feed. The product feed and optimization is one of the most time consuming steps. A video specifically on Optimizing product feeds ie. clever title practices, too many capital letters, great additional fields to add, etc. I think this would go a long way in reassuring people that they have an optimized product feed and their "ducks are in a row" when it comes to efficient bidding. As eager as I was, I would not allow myself to spend on bids without knowing I've tried my best to first optimize my titles and feed. BTW I did watch the "Title Optimization" video linked in the description.

    Fantastic video! I know that is almost impossible to cover everything in a single video, and you cover a lot of topics! But something very very important, are the most advanced steps of the funnels, the cart and checkout pages! I´m reformulating my checkout page, and I putting some reviews also there! In that steps inspire confidence is key. Traffic -> Landing Page -> Checkout.

    I cannot fathom not having negatives. We currently have over 2.5k in the Shopping campaign alone. In fact, that and no search data is why we refuse to use smart shopping. Lots of good stuff in this video. Can't rely on Google account managers for this sort of detail, thanks!

    Great video. Quick tip on adding negative keywords that saves a step: no need to copy the search query and then navigate to the negative keyword tab. Just select the search query you want to block and click to add to negatives without ever leaving the search query page (choose ad group level, campaign level, or add to negative keyword list). Be sure to add brackets for exact match negative keywords or quotation marks for phrase match. This way also allows you to quickly scan the search query report and select multiple terms you want to block. I believe you can add up to 50 negative keywords at a time. :)

    16:40 - Negative keywords. Negative broad match
    This type is the default for your negative keywords. For negative broad match keywords, your ad won't show if the search contains all your negative keyword terms, even if the terms are in a different order. Your ad may still show if the search contains only some of your keyword terms. - Broad match will typically suffice.

    For multiple product variants in terms of different sizes. Would you recommend syncing each product variant as a single product to the feed? Or would you recommend to only sync for example the cheapest variant?
    Thank you in advance!

    • @strange-universe
      @strange-universe Před 2 lety

      we like to put up each product that has highest interaction. Often, let's say it's a color variation, having the red and blue (your best sellers) listed is enough to get people to click and shop to see if you have white (your least sold) Our findings have been that Google seems to grab onto a few products and pound those out there. So, show 'em your top selling stuff, especially if you have 1000s of items.
      We had items that sized in diameter, 3", 4", 5", etc. Mostly, we went with the less expensive 3" versions. Well, search terms and product sales showed that 4" and 5" had way more orders. Our experience is that when we get the more "popular" product out there, we all win. Buyers want to get to what they want asap.
      The other course of action is listing a master in some instances. Your master listing image could possibly convey that there are variations, such as color swatches included.
      I probably don't know what I'm talking about, so take it with a grain of salt, as they say.

    Hi !
    I have a question regarding Google negative keywords.
    So if I want to add multiple Shopping add (low priority with high cpc, and high priory with low cpc). But I want to add negative brand keywords to a shopping add how does it work?
    For example I add the to my Low CPC, high priory ad the negative keyword "Nike" :
    He search for "shoes" only.
    A) Will it work only for the specific search
    Like if he search for " shoes" my Nike shoes add will get filtered out from my Low CPC and high priority add and Google will choose my second ad?
    OR
    B) since he didn't searched for "Nike shoes" only "shoes", my high priority, low cpc add with the negative keyword Nike WILL show up since he did search for shoes not "Nike" or "Nike shoes"
    So which is it?
    Thanks.

  • @brettsidaway2691
    @brettsidaway2691 Před 2 lety

    Hi Sam. Brilliant video. 3 quick questions: 1) how do I link my feed to the best product photo? 2) when you set up the campaign on the video you unclicked all the Network options - is that correct? 3) Most of my websites are on the Shopify platform. They recommend pulling the SEO title & description into the feed, rather than the product title & description - is that the best option to optimise the feed. I tend to write the meta description as more aspirational copy rather than descriptive & they also often repeat the keyword for SEO purposes so I am not entirely sure this is the best info for the feed but interested in your take. Brett

    • @strange-universe
      @strange-universe Před 2 lety

      Use a title that makes sense and is easy to read, while also hitting the main keyword/s as early as possible. That is interesting that there are 2 forms of title there. We often rewrite titles for the shopping campaign as the viewer sees a very limited amount of characters. Plus, if you have very similar products, use some creative variations to assist in covering more searches.

    Hi Sam, maybe you can answer this question, I am sure others are confused by it as well as me. If you have shopify and you are using content API with merchant center as I am, what part does the "manage availability" bulk editor in shopify google app play in all this?
    Can you use this? Is there any point?
    Does it cause any issues given that you will be manually editing the feed here, rather than in the product which is obviously what content API pulls from.
    Your thoughts would be appreciated, thank you.

    • @strange-universe
      @strange-universe Před 2 lety

      It only goes one direction, right? Any changes to the spreadsheet you upload should only go forward to the shopping campaign, and not be collected in your store. If that's not what you meant, my apologies.

  • @cavallopazzo340
    @cavallopazzo340 Před 3 lety

    Thanks Sam. That was very useful. I have a question: When your Shoppings ads have been running for a while and you see some search terms that have been performing very well I guess you should put them into your description in the feed, right? And if they were already there, probably put them further up in the feed, right? Does the feed need to sound natural and use marketing psychology for the people who read it in your experience or can it just be keyword stuffed?
